Developing right now out of lake county, a tense stand off is into its 6th hour after a man opened fire on Law Enforcement officers. The suspect is 43 year old joshua brown of kelsyville. Hes hiding out somewhere on his property. They set up a perimeter in the area. A stretch of the highway is closed. People living nearby are being told to shelter in place. Officers say this all unfolded just before 11 00 this morning. Brown exchanged words with chp officers and caltrans workers. He then fired several rounds. No one was hit, but then came more gunfire. Shortly after our first units respond, the suspect fired an additional round. We requested additional reinforcements from the California State Parks to help us set a perimeter. They set up a perimeter on a neighboring property and saw the suspect, who engaged them by firing two rounds. Authorities have reason to believe the suspect might have built a bunker in the hill side and he may have weapons hidden there. The man has had runins with police in the past. California and the city of San Francisco are suing the department of justice. State attorney announced the suit along side San Franciscos City Attorney today. He says the trump administrations policy amounts to intimidation.
