She was extremely smart, a talented actress, writer and comedienne with a very colorful personality that everyone loved. In star wars, she was our great and powerful princess, feisty, wise and full of hope in a role that was more difficult than most people might think. She will be missed by all. Fisher was best known for star wars. Her movie career started in the mid70s. She was still a teenager in 1975 when she starred along side Warren Beatty in shampoo. Years later george lucas cast her as Princess Leia in the star wars franchise. She also had a small part in the Blues Brothers and a role in when harry met sally. She wrote eight books starting with a semi autobiographical novel postcards from the edge about her struggles with addiction and her relationship with her famous mother. Her latest book the princess diarist. She was a vocal advocate for Mental Health issues and spoke about her struggles with bipolar disorder. When i was a kid i used to think i would just love to be able to sit in a chair for a while and turn it off. And thats what i did with drugs was try to just take it away. Override it. I just called it wanted to tame the beast. Fans flocked to the hollywood walk of fame to pay their respects. They were shocked to see star wars characters with their footprints in cement at grome mans theater but fisher never had a star on the walk. Kind of a shock and surprise that i thought for sure she would have had one years ago. When i wanted to grow up i wanted to be Princess Leia. Seemed like everything was going great for her. A stabbing on Christmas Eve a dispute about music. Kpix 5s Juliette Goodrich spoke to the victims family about what happened. Reporter a father walked into this target with his two kids on Christmas Eve for a gift when he asked two people inside to turn down the music. They are doing this holiday for these children for this mother for this family. Yes. Lord, give them the love that only you can. I do know christmas will never be the same for me and my children. Reporter tyrone was inside with the couples two children. It was his favorite time of year. He would decorate the tree and he would get the biggest lights. Like you know, the neighbors, we gonna outshine the neighbors this year. Im like not too many lights. Reporter but that excitement turned tragic when he was stabbed by two suspects inside the store and died at the hospital. It was just that lastminute gift. It was that lastminute gift that caused my husband his life his lastminute gift. He felt like jade had more gifts than josh. I got get josh one more thing. Reporter the family said tyrone was always doing what was best for his children and family, a witness saying tyrone asked the suspects to turn down some inappropriate music they were playing on their cell phones in the toy section. It was somebody playing some provocative music and he just asked them can you turn it down . My son is right here, you know . And the guy didnt take it too well. Im not sure exactly what was said. But they they rushed him. Reporter the family is still trying to process what happened. They say you cant make sense of it. It was senseless. They out of they mind to actually take action like that. In front of a child. Yeah. My son. Who does that . Mm. Reporter the two suspects were arrested a short time later. The hardest part for nicole, telling her children daddy isnt coming back. I cant bring him back. [ crying ] i cant bring him back but i know he is in a better place and i know he is smiling down. Reporter now, the suspects are from hayward. They are in their 20s. They are behind bars. They will be appearing in court this week facing murder charges. Veronica . And what is where are we with this investigation . Was there Surveillance Video inside the store, juliette . Reporter yeah. You know, its really hard to hide inside a target. There are cameras everywhere. So they certainly have video of the suspects walking in. Theres cameras on every aisle. So police are reviewing that. And keep in mind this happened on Christmas Eve. There were a lot of shoppers and witnesses reporting to police. Back to you. Thank you. Well, police in Pleasant Hill are investigating a shooting at a shopping center. It happened outside the starbucks at the Crossroads Shopping Center just after 9 00 last night. Police believe it started with a fight and escalated to gunfire. The shooter shattered the storefront windows pennsylvania were inside the starbucks when bullets hit the outside stone work. They saw a man shot, running toward the coffee shop and get in a car. This is the first shooting that we have had in several months anyway but it can happen anywhere at any time obviously. No one else was hurt. Police still looking for the us is as well as the victim. In livermore this is one of the cars involved in a crash that involved four vehicles as well as a tractortrailer rig. It happened about 2 00 in the eastbound lanes of 580 near the first street exit. No word on injuries. But the lanes reopened about 45 minutes later. And coast guard crews are working to remove this abandoned boat in waters off emeryville. More than 364,000 semi automatic rifles were sold by december 9. Thats compared to 153,000 rifles sold last year. And overall nearly 1 million guns were purchased in california this year. 700,000 guns were sold in 2015. Many of the new laws take effect on january 1. An oakland man has been identified as a suspect in a murder in sacramento. 19yearold Jonathan Pierce is said to have killed a man over a marijuana deal on december 12. 23yearold Patrick Domingo was shot in the head at the beacon gas station on el camino avenue in broad daylight. Sacramento detectives say that there was a second person in the car with pierce. He is not identified. Some serious cases of holiday violence at shopping malls across the u. S. They love to create a sense of urgency to get you sort of in a heightened emotional state where you need to get them the money needly. Reporter thats what Linda Williams told us this year. A con artist called her claiming she had won 50,000 but first she had to wire them several up front fees. I guess i hoped that this was real. Reporter the scam artists want an untraceable form of payment. They are asking to you transfer money through a Wire Transfer service or asking to you pay with a gift card, money card, um, green dot.
