I ran to where other people were running, then i entered thr the water and i saw it and saw somebody kind of crawled out of the plane, thats when i entered entered the water. Reporter he was the first to to reach the plane. The pilot had managed to free himself from from the cockpit but still needed to swim ashore. The plane plane emptied jet fuel into the churning surf. It was a tough swim out there. There was a lot of currents, waves, and there was a a lot of jet fuel in the water as well, so from the plane being being destroyed, the fuel tank leaked. Reporter the pilot was not seriously injured. Dane says instinct and adrenaline and experience combined to assist in whats being described as a heroic rescue. It was not a crazy rescue. Im grateful he was able to get to him so quickly, but when youre going through pilot training, the first thing youre taught is is whenever you are up in the air, be on the lookout for a place to land in case some emergency happens, the fact he had to pick the ocean, that means it was a condensed area, so that was the best he could do do to get to safety, and so i am am so glad he made it out safe here thats a crazy story.
