The airline has grounded all their flights scheduled to leave this morning because of a computer failure. Sandra is live at the airport with the details. The airline says the i. T. Systems are down everywhere grounding flights and impacting thousands of passengers. The board reads on time for those delta flights. When i spoke with workers this morning, they werent able to log in to update the status of flights. Passengers have been able to check in at kiosks and at the counter. Traffic started arriving around 3 45 for their 6 00 flight. One group checked in hoping their vacation wont be delayed. They said they were a little frustrated they werent contacted by delta before arriving. Im irritated a little bit. Disappointed. I was really excited and they didnt let us know, any kind of contact. We just show up here ready to go. And its like, no. Employees are checking passengers in until they hear otherwise about whether or not flights will be resuming as normal. The airline says they are expecting large scale cancellations today. If this sounds all too familiar, it was last month that a computer glitch caused southwest to cancel more than 2,000 flights. Flames tore through a couple homes in san leandro leaving two families homeless. A crew from Alameda County fire took video of the flames as they rushed to the scene. The fire started in the back of a house on villanueva and villalobos. The cause still under construction. A fire started at a Mobile Home Park in san martin south of morgan hill. Drivers reported seeing smoke as they drove along highway 101. The fire also burned some greenhouses and spread to nearby vegetation scorching about four acres. Check out this thick flume of smoke above a fire in woodside. Investigators say a downed power line sparked the flames. At one point there was concern that the fire would threaten homes but crews contained it to a quarter of an acre. In the south bay police are pushing to make sure drug overdoses dont turn headley. It hinges on dont turn deadly. It hinges on narcan, a spray to prevent overdosing. If its used quickly the narcan can completely reverse the effects of an overdose. The foothill de anza police are the first officers in Santa Clara County to carry this spray. Concord police say theyve recovered a stolen truck and 100,000 worth of construction equipment. Investigators say those items were found stashed in a warehouse. The truck had been stolen from the willow shopping center. Police say they were able to find it because it had a gps tracker. Friends and family are remembering a teenager who was killed in a car wreck last week. A Memorial Service was held for Cynthia Bonilla yesterday. She was coming back from a catering job with coworkers when the driver of a pickup backed out and slammed in to a light pole. Bonilla was the only one who did not survive. At least 39 people were killed. Southern California Police are trying to track down a man who shot and killed a woman and her 4yearold daughter. Long beach police say those people were gunned down near their home after Grocery Shopping on saturday night. The womans husband said he was across the street grabbing something from their car when he heard gunshots. He says the man also shot at him before running off. Investigators still trying to determine a motive. A restaurant thats been in san jose for decades is suddenly facing tough criticism. The owners are accused of discriminating against the disabled. A family sued the owners of falafel drivein. It claims the business wasnt accessible to someone in a wheelchair because the counters were too high and the bathrooms were too small. The restaurant wasnt notified till last week, leaving some wondering if the motive is for the disabled or for money. We need businesses. We dont need them to be abused that way targeted unjustly. The owners of falafel drivein say they wont give up without a fight. Wildlife experts trying to figure out how a humpback whale died yesterday morning. We have breaking news this morning in oakland where a car fire has sparked a homicide case. Kpix 5 lisa chan live in oakland on the investigation now underway. I just spoke to a man who lives in this neighborhood. He was on his way to work and did not want to be on camera. He did say he heard multiple gunshots early this morning. Police responded to a 911 call at 1 46 this morning. When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered a car on fire. This happened on the 9900 block of empire. The fire is out but police say there are three victims. Two are confirmed dead and one was transported to the hospital. So once again two people are dead this morning after a double homicide. In San Francisco police are searching for the gunman who approached a young man playing pokemon go and fatally shot him. The victim was 20yearold calvin riley a College Athlete who decided Fishermans Wharf would be a fun spot to hunt pokemon saturday. His game ended in tragedy when police say a stranger shot him in the chest. There were no surveillance cameras in the area. Its an uphill battle to find the suspect. His former coach says the young man could take on any challenge. Any guy on the team would gravitate toward him in practice off the field. Come game time, when he stepped on the mound just a bulldog. A big time competitor that you knew was going to give you everything you had. No moment was too big for him. Police are now asking for the publics help to find the gunman. Theyre asking witnesses to come forward with any information. Police in richmond are investigating two separate shootings. The first happened near 9th and lincoln avenue on saturday night. Police say a suspected gang member was killed in a shootout, the second shooting happened about two hours later. Police say a 19yearold was shot while riding her bike near the civic center motel. Witnesses say the shooter was in a honda accord riding with three other men. Police do not believe the two incidents are related. Police in hayward are looking for the suspects linked to three homicides. The latest victim is a 17yearold boy. Police say he was shot and killed saturday night in front of a home on muir street. Friday two people were killed in separate shootings. One was an 18yearold man. Officers found him with gunshot wounds inside of a car. That makes seven homicides in hayward so far this year. In San Francisco a party ended with nearly 20 people rushed to the hospital. Fire crews say they all ate a gummy candy that got them very sick. 80 people were cheering on a 15yearold and her transition to womanhood saturday night but the mood turned scary fast when 19 party goers ate a gummy ring candy and showed frightening symptoms. Many had swollen tongues rashes and shortness of breath. An attendant of the building found it tough to watch so many kids fall sick. They were crying, two or three kids were just sitting there because they couldnt breathe. Then the ambulance and police were coming in. Three children were taken to sf general icu that night one in critical condition. Investigators are now trying to determine what tainted the candy to make so many people sick. That started at 4 00 this morning, but its still up in the air as to whether or not flight times will resume as normal. We got dropped off. Now we have to wait around and see if anything is going to happen. If not were going to have to try to get a ride back home and figure it out. That group also says they were a little upset they werent contacted directly by delta. The flight board inside the airport still says delta flights are on time. However the Corporate Office for delta came out and said right now they arent able to log in to actually update the status of those flights. Happening today in san jose, hundreds of Court Workers set to picket again outside of the hall of justice for the second week. Their union says nobody is clocking in until they get a raise. The Court Workers havent seen a boost in their pay for eight years and the union says its just not right since south bay rents keep rising. With the bulk of court staff on the picket line, the court says Critical Services are in limbo. Hearings and search warrants are only part of the problem. The Union Questions why the court financed a pricey new building instead of offering them raises. These employees their staffing has collapsed. Some of them are performing multiple tasks. Courts are being held together with duct tape. They have the builders go to italy to make sure that the it was quarried. Hundreds of evacuations are underway in Southern California as a wildfire consums acres of land in San Bernardino county. Its burning east of Silverwood Lake and north of crestline. The socalled pilot fire has already charred 1500 acres since it started yesterday afternoon. It spurred the closure of two highways. Dozens of homes are under investigation. Closer to home, firefighters are gaining ground on the fire burning in yolo county. The cold fire is now 60 contained, burned 1500 acres. All evacuations have been lifted. Firefighters battling the soberantes fire in Monterey County say they almost have it contained. Its burned 50,000 acres and destroyed 57 homes since it started a little over two weeks ago. Containment is officially at 45 . Most of the evacuations have been lifted. One firefighter did more than battle that fire last week. He saw a tiny bird was in trouble and rushed to the rescue. Here is the pacific float flycatcher who was carried to safety in a starbucks cup. The firefighters brought the baby bird to the local spca last tuesday. Employees say the bird was so irritated by the smoke he couldnt open his left eye. But come friday the spca says the flycatcher was alert responsive, and eating very well. This year his mom wanted there to be plenty of guests and lots of presents so she spread the word through a local tv station. 11yearold Ryan Fritzinger got to hear happy birthday many times this weekend because the tv station his mom turned to inspired dozens of people including star wars storm troopers to wish ryan well in person. Kpix 5 reporter lisa chan is live where two bodies were found overnight in a burning car. Oakland Police Responded to a 911 call at 1 46 this morning. When they arrived they discovered a car on fire. This happened on the 9900 block of empire. The fire is out. But police do say there are three victims. Two are confirmed dead and one was transported to the hospital.
