You can see actually unusually slow. Instead of yellow everything is turning red up to north flynn. And then it starts to clear out livermore and pleasanton but there is a little bit of a backup there. I wouldnt be surprised if there was at least a fender bender on the righthand shoulder. Flights have resumed at the largest airport in turkey as experts try to determine what led to a deadly attack there. 41 people are dead and more than 140 are injured after suicide bombers blew themselves up at istanbuls ataturk airport. The latest from tina kraus reporter Surveillance Video from inside turkeys largest airport shows people scrambling for cover as one of the explosions went off. Shortly before the blast, turkish Officials Say assailants armed with ak47s opened fire at the entrance of the international terminal. Watchdog groups have long advocated making it public immediately following an incident. Officers staunchly oppose it. Yesterday, the senattwo bills t have given officers more control over releasing footage. In San Francisco, a man tries to blow the whistle on drives who use the bike lane. But one of the motorcyclist caught in the act lashed out. Randall dietl an avid bicyclist recorded this cell phone video yesterday afternoon. A motorcyclist lashes out at him after sensing he was in the spotlight. It happened in a bike lane along golden gate avenue. The motorcyclist knocked randalls phone to the ground but the footage survived the fall. Now randall hopes that the city will stand up to drivers who put bicyclists in danger. I think, um, what the city needs to be doing is focusing on making it safe for people who are 8 to 80 years old to be able to cycle, um, and get around in the city. Though motorcyclist is not caught but if found he could face assault charges. Happening today, a protest by Sexual Assault survivors to get judge aaron persky off the bench. Persky gave a former stanford swimmer just three months in jail after the young man raped a woman behind a dumpster. Kpix 5s maria medina is live in palo alto at the courthouse where persky works reporter this is where judge aaron persky works and in just a few hours at 11 00, a group of activists from ultraviolet will rally for his removal. Recently he sentenced former stanford swimmer brock turner to three months in jail as you said. That sentence sparked a lot of controversy. In fact, the victim was outraged and just a couple of weeks ago at stanfords Graduation Ceremony, a group of students protested the sentencing. Heres what one student had to say. They dont think rape happens at stanford, but it does. It happens more than we actually think it does. Reporter and so the group of activists from ultraviolet will rally again at 11 00 in San Francisco outside the California Commission of judicial performance. They are going to hand the commission more than a million petitions to support their cause. Now the commission can remove the judge once they investigate a complaint. But its not just the experts who are working to save it. A whale Safari Company has stepped up to the plate. Heres a giant mammal that was spotted all tangled up on monday afternoon. You trained volunteers from dolphin and well safari joined experts to free it from hundreds of feet from crab pot lines. They spent hours on monday trying to disentangle it but it disappeared last night. More and more whales are getting trapped in the gear. In this area alone, i think this year we have already had around 40 whales that have been spotted that have been entangled. Last year, we had over 60. And thats just what we see. And what we see is just a tip of the iceberg. Rescue teams say this whale got tangled up in gear thats been traced to morro bay. It is 5 14. Lets check the roads with elizabeth. Hey there. You know, usually when we see a long line of red sensors like this, this early in the morning often times an accident, fender bender, but you know, we called chp and theres just nothing reported so just unusually heavy traffic right now. You can see it from 205 all the way to about north flynn and then it picks up all the way to the dublin interchange. Maybe its fog slowing people down a little bit . You can see it will in the dublin cam. Headlights are westbound 580 but its shrouded a little bit by low clouds. So mass transit is an option. Ace train number one is on time. Bart systemwide no delay. Muni and golden gate transit also everything is on time. So no issues for mass transit so far this morning. Checkic other roads around the bay area, you can see the checking other road around the bay area, you can see the approaches to the area are green. If you are heading to the bay bridge toll plaza, still no major delays in the cash lanes and fastrak. Westbound overnight roadwork cleared. Eastbound side on the lower deck of the bay bridge still some lanes blocked until 6 00 so you could see tieups before that clears up. Heres a live look at 880 in oakland near the oakland coliseum. Southbound at 880 all these headlights right there. Once you reach about 23rd to 29th there are some lane closures in that area. But northbound traffic is good up to the downtown area. Look at the fog across the Golden Gate Bridge so yeah a little foggy out of sausalito into the city. That is the latest from here. Lets talk more about this cooldown of 95 degrees. We have the winds west northwest at 12 at sfo. 3 in mountain view. 13 thats a robust onshore push from the coast into San Francisco. Inland, still under 10 Miles Per Hour except for the Fairfield Area back in through the delta. Southwesterlies at 18. Winds will be pretty variable today 10 to 20 Miles Per Hour. This area of low pressure right here, it is responsible for enhancing that marine layer. Its one thing to watch a great white on tv from a divers point of view but now we have a firstever look at life from the Vantage Point of a sharks dorsal fin. Heres the view. The hightech camera was designed by scientists for the Monterey Bay Aquarium and Research Institute to get a look at the white shark cafe part of the ocean between mexico and hawaii in a spot with not a lot of food or plant life. Researchers think its where sharks gather to procreate in peace. Its very common to see juvenile white sharks in california. We know its a big part of the white shark nursery. We also know that in may and june, our big females are coming in to drop off their pups in northern baja and certainly that birthing area would extend into Southern California.
