The shock sent the woman who lives there to the hospital. And in oakley, lightning struck Ohara Park Middle School causing the p. A. System and fire alarms to malfunction. It was really scary because, like, the class was moving. I thought it was an earthquake but then they said it was thunder. I thought it was an explosion at first. It kept hitting. It hit about 6 times. Everyone had to be evacuated, safely. The school will be open at its regular time today. Apparently after that thunderstorm, the kids couldnt concentrate because of the Lightning Strike and because its very unusual for them. Typically in a year, in the bay area, we might see three thunderstorms. We have seen at least three this week alone. So many of these kids have never experienced it before if they are native of this area. We have potential of thunderstorms in the forecast again today and i want to be very clear, when we talk about the potential of thunderstorms, it could contain cloudto ground lightning and also small hail. So well keep our eye to the sky today. Right now, nothing really occurring much around the state. We have mostly cloudy skies over sfo and you can see that low level cloud deck. We are going to take a look at all of our local airports in less than four minutes. 7 people are being treated for injuries after a pittsburg bound passenger plane hit turbulence yesterday after the flight left the dominican republic. It was forced to land in fort lauderdale, florida. My first thought was this is it. I never experienced this before this type of, um, turbulence before. So it was really, really scary. Another plane later brought the passengers to pittsburgh. This mothers day is an extra special time for a first time mother in new york. She is fighting a Major Health Crisis while welcoming her new daughter into the world. Hena daniels has her story reporter sarah is grateful for her little girl sasha and her own health this mothers day. Such a good girl. Reporter in november, she and her husband received shocking news. We found out that we are having the baby with the home pregnancy test and a week later found out we had cancer. Reporter the 3 hadyearold needed a series of scans right away involving radiation. We decided after weighing the risks and the benefits that it was more beneficial to get the mammogram so we shielded the baby. Its highly suspicious. Reporter scans showed cancer in both breasts. Dr. Smith from mount sinai says many treatments are safe for pregnant women. But its best to wait until after the first trimester. There are certain ones that you cannot give during pregnancy. But there are other chemo regimens which are safe. Reporter sarah had surgery to remove the cancer, then started chemotherapy. All the things you cant do when youre pregnant, you cant eat certain fish and you cant eat a hot dog. How can you put chemicals in your body . Just seems crazy reporter sarah finished chemo just before sasha was born. She still needs radiation she couldnt have during the pregnancy. I really did care and support with my husband and family. So i feel really lucky. Reporter she is thankful she was able to get the treatment she needed and that her baby is perfectly healthy. Looks good. It all ends up in this little girl. In fact, your ride along 101 out of marin county from 580 right where the Richmond San Rafael bridge is, down to about San Francisco, towards the Golden Gate Bridge toll plaza, only about a 14minute ride right now. So pretty easy if you are commuting into San Francisco. Chp still working on this accident northbound 280 at trousdale. The good news is its not blocking lanes. They have now changed it to a brokendown vehicle. You see some activity off to the side but no injuries or incidents there.
