Can we talk to you about this recall . I wish we could. I cant say anything. And why not in because were advised not to. Reporter all week we are trying to get rancho to talk about the beef recall and slaughter house shutdown. They told the newspaper that they did nothing wrong. The trouble began last month as a small recall notice. Limited to beef processed on a particular day in 2013. But quickly turned into an entire years worth of meat, products like hot pockets that had reached hundreds of store shelves. The recall also included grass fed cows slaughtered at the same plant. The recall is far too broad. It doesnt make or look at anybodys individual situation. It just includes everything. Reporter they are among a small group of highend local ranchers who said that beef could not be sold. The tainted meat refers to older dairy cows used to make cheaper ground beef products. The couple is fighting this recall with the support of politicians, but . Unfortunately even if you are diane and you called the usda or you want to talk to the secretary vilsack, hes going to say that he could not talk about it. And so it is really difficult to come up what solution. Sot allegations that they were sneaking these sick cows in to be processed, where does this investigation go from now . Less water, less food produced, less jobs, higher costs at the grocery store. More than short showers as this will be the true cost of californias crippling drought. And that is the ultimate effect. Well, it may be on the way for farmers as Governor Brown proposed a 600 million drought relief package earlier this week. People in the twin peeks neighborhood should be on the lookout for the potentially poisonous meatballs. The latest citing is in a backyard on crestline drive.
