Its a total scene out there right now the crowd reached capacity about an hour ago. Kpix 5 reporter emily turner is in the heart of it. Emily. Reporter it is like two different worlds. Its a lot of fun, everything thats going on in here, the fans are pumped up. On the other side of the gate where people are stuck and cant get in, they are not very happy. Its a party in high demand. Its causing tension for those who dont get into super bowl city. The estimates were one million people. But there very well may be more today. At 2 00 it was at 90 capacity. The lines were still so long, they spilled into the streets forcing additional closures. Thousands waited many for hours just to get in, and the concert is still hours away. Took me five hours to get here so i would be super disappointed. Reporter last night gates closed around 8 00. Officers said that left 5,000 people in the streets many shouting angrily. They rushed one entrance and 100 broke through before police could bring in backup. The venue is now closed. Reporter tonight officers have been warned. Its a weekend and the venue is warning fans as well, start early so those who do get in can see what they came for. If you want to go to the alicia keys concert, line up now because it will get really packed. Reporter what did they say about last night . They said last night one direction was here and it was popping and they shut the area down. They didnt let no more people in so go right now. Reporter i hope that those ladies made it because i know they were really excited about the concert. In the meantime just before the show, we walked down to one of the gates, the one on market street. The lines are still there because they are not saying, hey, you cant get in, its completely over. We are going to say we are going to assess the situation, maybe well reopen it as people leave but people who are leaving they are saying your not allowed to come back in. We just heard from bart, trains are stopping at the embarcadero station because of the huge crowds. And some breaking news. Reports coming in that the former 49ers owner danny debartolo has been named to the nfl hall of fame. As team owner debartolo led the 9ers to five super bowl championships. The word is coming from the nfl honors and awards ceremony under way right now. It is a huge honor for a man loved by players. Much more on this coming up in sports. This morning, the broncos did their final walkthrough at levis stadium going over scripted scenarios on offense and defense and special teams. One of the big things about security at this super bowl is monitoring social media because of what happened in paris and San Bernardino and some of the clues that were missed there. Officials here dont want to miss anything. Its an impressive show of strength on the streets of santa clara. Heavily armed military personnel, officers with assault rifles, bombsniffing dogs and combat helicopters overseeing it all. There will be folks in plainclothes out there that you probably wont see. Reporter Santa Clara Police wont give details on their security plan for game day tomorrow. Only that Law Enforcement will be ready for just about anything. Tomorrow is going to be very important for us. It gives us a chance to see what we have been planning for the last two years if it really works. We have an accident plan and just want to see it unfold. Reporter in todays world, much of the plan has to do with the internet and social media. Social media has changed the game completely. Reporter kpix 5 was given access to the super bowl 50 joint Information Center at a secret location in sunnyvale. Its where homeland security, Law Enforcement and Cyber Security experts are monitoring internet chatter and social media messages that could flag anything from a Traffic Accident to a terrorist threat. It has really become something that the public and Law Enforcement have to follow and step into to understand whats going on in the community and make sure we are giving the information to the broadest base we possibly can. Reporter now, in addition to looking for the obvious major security threats, officers are also looking for things like counterfeiting of nfl merchandising and ticket scalping as well as human trafficking. One thing they want to get across to the public especially the Younger Generation is that if you see something, say something. And they want to you call 911. There is a tendency for some younger people to want to put things on twitter right away. They say dont do that. Put it on the 911 system so that everyone can find out about it at once.
