Series of shootings and explosions that killed at least 129 people. More than 350 others were wounded in the attacks. Dozens of them are in critical condition. Cbs reporter Kenneth Craig joins us live from paris. Kenneth in. Reporter well, it is now sunday morning here in paris and obviously, that investigation is still very much underway. A lot of the Police Activity we saw this morning has been centered around this area near the theater where 89 innocent people were killed. Across paris, mourners lit candled and comforted each other at memorials one day after their city was terrorized. Reporter the eiffel tower was dark. Members of the band u2 paid their respects. One of the victim an american, 23yearold nohemi gonzalez. She will be profoundly missed. Reporter cbs news the fbi will send a handful of agents to paris, but the french government has not asked for investigative assistance. Three teams of extremists carried tout attacks. First, near Frances National stadium from the french president Francois Hollande evacuated after a suicide bomber blew himself up when his vest was detected. Minutes later another group opened fire in a string of crowded cafes killing dozens. The gunmen first attacked customers at this restaurant firing 100 bullets. Some of them went through these windows. Reporter another team took hostages at the concert hall where eagles of death metal was playing. As many as 89 people were killed. French authorities have identified the seven attackers. The Islamic State has claimed responsibility. And memorials and vigils continue to grow across the city including this one behind me where we have seen people visiting all night long. Kenneth, thank you. People in San Francisco showed their support at the french consulate. A san carlos man was just a block away from one of the attacks and he told our andria borba he heard four shots and grabbed his phone. That concert hall, it was terrible. It was a band from california playing. I know. I think a lot of people did die there. Reporter via a shaky skype connection, katherine morearty and her daughter gets some face time with her husband brian who is in paris. He was half a block away from one of the attacks when he heard gunfire. We heard bang, bang, and then it got very quiet in the restaurant. Reporter someone checked his smartphone and realized the shots were part of a terrorist attacks. He said oh my god there is another one and a third one. Reporter that is when brian texted kathlene who was teaching preschoolers in the bay area. The first thing he wrote was i am fine. Reporter two hours into the attacks, things became terrifyingly real again for brian. We ran inside and she yelled out in french everybody get under the table. So we did. And, we dove down and didnt really know why she had said that. We didnt know if she saw someone coming down the street or heard gunfire. Reporter brian will fly home to the bay area on sunday. Oh my gosh. I cant even tell you. To see his face. I have never been so excited to see him in my life. Reporter andria borba, kpix5. And some bay area travelers are returning from paris tonight. Passengers arriving at sfo told us despite some slight cancellations, the french airports are operating almost normally but the security lines are exceptionally long. They put the army out on the streets. Getting through Airport Security this morning was quite difficult. The line for passport control was almost two hours long. We checked in with sfo, oakland, and mineta. So far, no security changes at any of those airports in response to the attacks. Well beefed up security tonight for bay area sporting events. The Oakland Police department had a lot more offices visible at oracle arena for the warriors game. Fans were screened and had to pass through metal detecters. They kept an eye out for trouble. It will be a similar experience for fans headed to the Oakland Coliseum tomorrow. The raiders face the vikings and the nfl has ordered security to be beefed up inside and outside of all of the stadiums. The 49ers are off this week. Fighting terrorism was a key topic in tonights democratic debate which aired right here on channel 5. After taking the stage, the candidates pledged to ramp up efforts against the Islamic State. But right from the start, every candidates first words had to do with the terror attacks in france. The Second Democratic president ial debate started in silence as the candidates recognized those killed. And the next question focused on National Security and isis which has claimed responsibility. We have to look at isis as the leading threat of an International Terror network. Reporter Hillary Clinton leads in the polls and her two opponents worked to slow down the front runner. Senator Bernie Sanders tried to connect clintons vote as senator to approve the 2003 invasion of iraq with the rise of isis. The disastrous invasion of iraq, something that i strongly opposed, has unraveled. The region completely. Reporter iowa is an early caucus state. In less than three months, iowa will pick the democrat they think should be nominee for president. All of the candidates have campaign on improving the middle class, but governor Martin Omalley questioned clintons ties to wall street. Secretary clinton, when you put out your proposal on wall street, it was described as weak tea. Reporter sanders attacked clinton on Campaign Dollars from big business. Why do they make millions of dollars of Campaign Contribution ins they expect to get something. Reporter one thing all the candidates could agree on was inn creasing the minimum wage. I dont think everybody should be sending Donald Trumps kids to college. Debt free college is the goal that we need to obtain as a nation. My daughters went to college on a mountain of bills. We are proud of them graduation day, but we will be proud every month for the rest of our lives. It doesnt need to be that way. While the jury is out on who won the debate, melissa cain says there is at least one big loser. If there is any lose tore night it is wall street. At least six people in the hospital tonight following yesterdays tour bus crash at San Franciscos union square. Chopper 5 captured the aftermath. They hit a cyclist before crashing. The tour bus is out with a written statement tonight and emily turner is live at the scene. Reporter take a look over my shoulder at what has happened over the last 24 hours. This is are that bus crashed into and yet it doesnt look like anything has happened. Everything is back up ready to go. That investigation is still underway. The traffic Investigation Unit is handling this case now. With our news partner. Kcbs, the bus is at an impound lot. Police are looking at dash cam video of the bus. We have a statement from city sightseeing which is the company that owns that bus and runs that tour. The statement from the ceo says everyone at city sightseeing San Francisco is deeply saddened by the union square accident. Our hearts and prayers go out to the individuals impacted. We pray everyone involved recovers fully and quickly. In the meantime today, tourists didnt seem to know exactly what would happen, but if they did, they didnt mind. They were hopping on the tour buses enjoying their afternoon out and saying we dont think it is going to be a problem. We are going to give it a shot and see. I am still walking and talking. They said this was horrific. They had a hard time sleeping because of what they saw. Businesses are back open as usual. It will take them some time to get over what happened. Reporting live, emily turner, kpix5. Drowsy driving may have contributed to a dramatic crash on marin county cliff. Two people were inside when the car plunged onto the rocks below. It happened just after midnight near stinson beach. They rescued the pair just 20 minutes before the peak of high tide. They were air lifted to the hospital with life threatening injuries. It took just six seconds and 20 million to take down the largest of the support that held up the bay bridge. Our mark kelly was there when it went out with a bang. Reporter it took 600 charges to bring the largest pier to its knees. The bidez family woke up at 4 00 a. M. To grab a front row seat but were not impressed with the show. Reporter crews will spend the coming days in the water to see if the blast really worked and the pier collapsed the way it should. We will get information from that data. Heaviest amounts will reach a quarter of an inch to three quarters of an inch. It will come down good, but very briefly. Overnight lows, we are looking at readings mostly in up ther 30s to mid 40s around the bay area. And, as we look ahead toward tomorrow, sunrise at 12 minutes before 7 00. San francisco manages only 59 degrees tomorrow and the cold air behind all this. 57 right now. So we will not do much better in the high. Down in the south bay, tomorrow morning around sunrise, it will be wet. And then, it will begin to clear up. Temperatures near 60 degrees. Over in the east bay, a little earlier on the rain.
