"having the citizens, they almost become an adjunct to the police, we are all fighting crime together. you know we are all in this city together, you have lots of eyes and ears." "it makes it a lot easier for them as well just to have that contact with their police department. i mean it is 24/7 now that you can use this application." the app cost 35- thousand dollars for the person who falls through the ice-- has about a minute to control their breathing, or they'll go under. they also have about ten minutes of useful movement in their hands and fingers-- to get out. ### an overturned big-rig caused serious delays on interstate 80 this afternoon. it was around one truck overturned in the westbound lanes near the spaghetti bowl. the truck was carrying a trailer full of cars. a few of the cars also rolled off onto the highway... blocking several lanes. officials say nevada prisons are adding more guards, and they're training officers how to use rubber bullets. it's an effort to end deadly shootings, behind bars. but during a meeting today... officials said shotguns, are still needed as well. the meeting comes as nevada faces lawsuits over prison shootings... including one at high desert state prison in 2014-- that left an inmate dead. it was recommended that the state, reduce the use of bird-shot. officials say the new tools will reduce the need for listen to our nevada is being awarded five-point-six-million- dollars from state officials to hire more than 160 social workers and mental health professionals for nevada schools. eleven districts, and six charter schools will receive the funding, as part of a broad anti- bullying initiative. students were recently surveyed-- on the health of their school climate. funding was awarded-- based in part, on which schools needed the most intervention. the anti-bullying office says, investing in the social and emotional pay big dividends in their academic performance. lawmakers voted last spring-- approving major anti-bullying initiatives, proposed by governor brian sandoval. ### nevada continues to be an important primary state in the race for the white house. republican hopeful carly fiorina will be in reno sunday, january 17th, for a town hall meeting. the former c-e-o of hewlett-packard will be at lakeridge golf course from three to four that afternoon. this will be her second trip to northern nevada as part of her campaign. you're never too old to color... in fact, adult coloring books are popping up in books stores everywhere. although they've been around for years... the books have recently started to rise in popularity. but they're much different than the coloring books you might have grown up with. many of them are filled with detailed designs and intricate patterns. book stores say they have trouble keeping them stocked. therapists claim they can have a positive impact on your mental health.
