The District Attorney says a nanny charged with dui after crashing her car through a school fence has faced similar charges before. Melanie woodrow has more. Reporter Belmont Police arrested this 64yearold nanny for child endangerment after she drove into a fence outside an Elementary School on monday. The damaged fence had a yellow sign that says, drive safely and slowly. Its a reminder to parents of the incident that could have been even worse. She could have hit anybody that was on the sidewalk. Reporter police say the nanny had an infant in her car and was on her way to pick up another child when she drove into the fence. The infant was not hurt. But an 11yearold student outside was hurt. San mateo County District attorney shes somebody weve dealt with on a prior occasion for the same offense, misdemeanor drunk driving. Reporter she pleaded no contest to the charges in may of 2015 and received a sentence of three years probation and two days in jail. The d. A. s office said shell be arraigned on these latest charges in july. Abc 7 news. A man accused of stabbing a boy outside a mill bray library shouldnt have been out on the street. He was in court today on charges in connection with last fridays attack. He remains in custody without bail. Nelson has five prior arrests in San Mateo County on drug charges. He has Mental Health issues and was a free man at the time of the stabbing because of proposition 47 which downgraded certain crimes to misdemeanors. Very definite possibility he would have been in custody at the time of this, rather than wandering the streets of millbray. The 13yearold victim suffered seven stab wounds and will need further surgery. Officials sent a letter to students parents that reads in part, we are discussing the incident in the context of full safety and how to further protect our students out in the world.
