warm moist air from the south, and ring the afternoon hours, this has triggered some thunderstorm activity to the areas from los angeles, down through avalon, santa catalina islands. between 1:00 and 3:00 is when the lightning strikes happened and injured the folks, and you can see right here the severe weather moving through the area. also during the 1:00 hour, i want to show you the numerous lightning strikes that hit the coastal waters off monterey. right now, all we're seeing is high clouds move into the bay area. but there's still a chance of a thunderstorm, and even an isolated live shower. i'll let you know when and where we get a chance of this severe weather in our area. >> the breaking news reporting continues on twitter. more evacuations have been ordered in the sierra foothills because of a fast-moving brush fire. 500 homes have been evacuated as the sand fire burns. flames have destroyed ten homes since friday. dry brush helped the fire move quickly and spread from the ground into the tops of trees. the fire has burned 3800-acres and is 35% contained. a fire burning on the west emof yosemite national park forced officials to call for more evoke situations. 100 homes near highway 140 have been evacuated. cabins and campgrounds as well. the park is open but several roads are closed. the fire has burned 2100 akers. fire destroyed one home. firefighters don't know how the fire started. a popular east bay salon has been destroyed by fire the stylist hair salon just off east 14th street in san lee -- san leandro. we have a look at the damage. reporter: the fire shut down two popular businesses here, the stylist hair salon and a nail spa. flames broke out this morning at 9:15. firefighters came quickly and were able to knock the fire down in 20 minutes but one firefighter was injured. he was taken to the hospital for a nonlife-threatening injury. jet jurors say an electrical malfunction in the hair salon's facial room caused the fire. the hair salon is destroyed and the nail salon nt door sustained moderate smoke and heat damage. both a lion are opened by two sisters and their customers are sad to see them closed. >> i at a loss for words. i have a business myself and couldn't national this happening. >> the nail salons all over in this area, and we all just sit and wait because they're always so good and clean. >> no word on the future of stylist hair salon but it appears the nail salon will re-open in a few days. live in san leandro. abc7 news. >> a fire at a richmond apartment complex sent three people in the hospital. a couple suffered burns. their daughter was injured. in all five people were able to make it out of the burning building by the time firefighters arrived this morning. the fire badly damaged three apartment units. no word yet on the cause. governor brown is getting ready for a trade mission to mexico tomorrow and is bringing along a huge delegation. the trip is organized by the california chamber of commerce. more than 100 state government, business, economic development, and policy leaders paid $5,000 each for the four-day triche. brown will meet with mexico's president. today candlestick park holds its final sporting event, the san jose earthquakes, not the niners, but still a nostalgic day for fans, sergio quintana is live from the stick with more. reporter: nostalgia indeed. it was 54 years and three months ago that the san francisco giants played their first game here when candlestick park opened. this is a matchup between a spanish team visiting and the san jose earthquakes and the fans here didn't want to miss the last sporting event. this soccer matchup is a chance for fans to watch their favorites in action. for some, spaniards playing at candlestick seems [ heart beats ] we continue follow breaking news oust southern california. 14 people have been hit by lightning, 13 of them at venice beach. some were in the water when the rare summer thunderstorm hit, others were on the boardwalk, two victims are in critical condition. one person was also struckly lightning on catalina island. he in stable condition. the water level at lake tahoe is so low right now it's impacting summer water sports. the drought has meant much less rainfall at the lake. its water level is just one foot above the natural rim. the boat ramp will shut down tomorrow at sand harbor. the flow of the truckee river connected to the lake isn't moving fast enough. two rafting companies say they'll have to shut down operations for the next month. here to tell us if there is any rain on the way for us, let's get to meteorologist frances dinglasan. >> definitely the threat of thunderstorms and isolated light shower. taking you back to live doppler 7hd where we saw numerous lightng strikes off the coast of monterey. right now, as it heads towards the bay area, it's making its way in the form of high clouds. we could see some precipitation along the coast but right now mainly clear skies, high clouds passing through from the south. here's the santa cruz beach boardwalk where it was pleasant. temperatures mild and comfortable. san francisco, 66. san carlos, 77. san jose, 80. gilroy, 83, half moon bay, 61. you see more of these high clouds as we look out west from the east bay hills, and so that's why we keep the threat of an isolated light shower in our forecast. santa rosa, 82. napa, 79. novato, 84. we're still in the mid-90s in fairfield, concord, and livermore, this evening. from sutro tower looking down towards san francisco, we're starting to see the marine layer push in. the sea breeze brought us cooler numbers today so we're keeping an eye on the chance of thunderstorms. isolated light showers more likely. and then slightly cooler numbers tomorrow again with the increase sea breeze. take you to the radar satellite image. we have this dome of hot air and with this clockwise rotation pulling the moisture from the gulf of california. that's bringing high clouds and heat and the threat of some thunderstorms or showers. now, the forecast animation even shows some possible light rain over the peninsula coast this evening. we'll see the high clouds move through, and through monday, and also see the marine larry a bit but by tomorrow afternoon, mostly sunny conditions. overnight lows, mild. a little cooler in some areas. more 50s out there. 58 in richmond. oakland. 63 in san jose. 66, antioch. tomorrow, look for temperatures to be similar to today but maybe a degree or two cooler in some locations. 86, you're high in san jose tomorrow. the high you hit today. still hot in gilroy, 95. 83 in sunny sail. look for 85 in men low park -- menlo park. we head north to the coast, 65, sunset district. 69, downtown san francisco. low 80s in petaluma and novato. ukiah, 101 tomorrow. clear lake, 100. mild in the east bay with numbers in the mid-70s for the most part and low 80s. 80 in san leandro and 81 in fremont. look for numbers to be coming down. we saw the up ir90s, now mid-to-low 90s tomorrow. 891 in san ramon. 95 in livermore. a couple days ago we were hitting triple digits. here's the accuweather seven-day forecast. a chance of a shower. that lingers into tuesday with the high clouds still passing through. not much change in temperatures, just a slight drop, a little bit more seasonal by the end of next weekend. so, that's -- we're hoping for slightly cooler weather. >> it's summer. what are you going to do?
