"abc 7 news" was at the scene on main street after san mateo county sheriff's deputies were called for a fight in front of a house. they say two men were on the ground. one had a visible injury to his neck and was pronounced dead. a wheelchair could be seen inside the crime tape there. investigators have not yet said what led up to this deadly stabbing. san leandro police arrested two shooting suspects the on night after an hour's long manhunt. the area around davis street and douglas drive was locked down while a swat team, canine and a helicopter searched for the suspects. they're accused of firing skinny bill a vehicle this afternoon wounding two people, but thankfully those victims are expectedsurvive. four people including two teenagers were arrested in connection with dozens of car break ins in the east bay. brentwood identified two of the suspects at brian randolph and john robertson. investigators say the men and two teens admitted to breaking into 17 cars of a parking lot of a brentwood hotel last friday morning. one car was stolen and later seen near a livermore complex where another 36 cars were broken into. >> a popular ride won't be there because of a tragedy in ohio. this is one of the six locations across california where the fire ball ride is closed indefinitely. cal osha ordered the closures after an 18 year old died when the ride broke apart at the ohio state fair throwing people to the ground. the dutch manufacturer has ordered a worldwide shut down of all fire ball rides until it can come up for a plan for safety inspections. even after that happens, some potential riders are kept cal. >> i won't go on it. i won't. i don't think -- i don't think i would let my son go on it now. >> you can also see from sky 7 a similar ride called delirium at california's great america in santa clara, that is closed down as a precaution as well. coyote creek which decimated neighborhoods in san jose when it flooded in february is now getting help from the federal government. >> yeah, the army corps of engineers has agreeld to study the waterway and come up with a plan to reduce the risk of flooding. >> "abc 7 news" reporter katie marzullo is live at the santa clara water district. katie. >> reporter: ama, dan, it is a partnership, and between the army corps of engineers and the water district, the idea is to avoid, to prevent another devastating flood like the city saw last winter. frightening images from the february flood. the water so deep some families had to be rescued from their homes in boats. left behind, total destruction. >> it was just devastating, you know, just to realize how much we lost. >> reporter: anna heckman and her family marked the spot where the water reached in their yard. the flood claimed furniture, tools and mementos. >> we don't ever want to experience this again. >> reporter: a new partnership is aimed at preventing another major flood of coyote creek. >> coyote creek has been a disaster for years. we have tried very hard, but now we have a partner. >> reporter: the santa clara water district is paying the army corps of engineers to help with a study of the creek, a study to show how to reduce flood risks. it is the first step in securing state and federal funds for a flood protection project. >> which just helps us. we hope to get this channel done to protect the 14,000 people that were misplaced. >> reporter: a flood protection project for coyote creek could look similar to what is the guadalupe walk in downtown san jose. heckman is glad to know things are moving forward. >> seems like they should be able to do something to prevent this disaster in the future. >> reporter: it caused similar flooding in 1997. the water district sought help from the corps back then but was turned down because there was no federal interest at the time. in san jose, katie marzullo, "abc 7 news." san jose is looking for new ways to house the homeless. one proposal included building tiny homes across the street from thousand oaks park in south san jose. at a meeting earlier this month an overflow crowd showed up to voice opposition. city councilman now says the housing department will not recommend housing there. he apologized for the way the meeting was handled. another community meeting will be held in two weeks. in lake county three homes burned to the ground tonight after a backyard barbecue gout got owl of control. the fire started around 5:30. a man told firefighters he was cooking dinner when the fire got away from him. about 30 homes were evacuated. several cats and dogs had to be rescued. 3 1/2 acres burned. those evacuations have been lifted. well, millions of people all over the country are making plans to see the solar eclipse cross over the united states on august 21st, which hasn't happened in nearly 100 years. "abc 7 news" reporter kate larson has more on what you can expect and what you should know before you look up. >> reporter: starting at 9:00 a.m. on august 21st, the shadow of the moon will sweep saturday. heat will hold on well into the early part of august. overnight we will see fog at the coast and a little bit over the bay. it will be mild in most locations with low temperatures in the mid to upper 50s and even right around 60 at concord and livermore. on we go to tomorrow's beach forecast. it will be bright at the beaches although partly cloudy and breezy but mild with high temperatures in the mid 60s at most bay area beaches, but 73 at santa cruz. water will be cool. the ocean temperature 57 degrees tomorrow. let's look at tomorrow's highs. look for 64 degrees at half moon bay. 68 here in san francisco. 72 in oakland. 77 in pallet owe. 83 san jose. 84 at santa rosa. the inland east bay hide in the mid 90s from fairfield to concord to livermore. looking into the forecast, saturday will bring typical temperatures. highs up north near cloverdale. not quite 100, but monday is hot inland with a high expected to reach 100 antioch on monday. upper 90s concord and livermore. triple digits at cloverdale and clear lake. again the typical summer spread will be with us tomorrow and saturday. it will have a little bit above average temperatures on sunday and even around the bay we'll see it warming up to low 80s and upper 60s on the coast to about 70 sunday and monday and tuesday. notice how tuesday, wednesday and thursday the inland temperatures continue to rise to upper 90s. a steady pattern of upper 90s there to almost 100. we're going -- we're not sustaining it but the pattern will sustain itself through late next week. upper 90s inland. low to mid 80s around the bay and upper 60s on the coast. mild to warm. looks like this pattern will hold for quite a while, not just the seven days ahead but into mid august perhaps. >> goodness. >> sustaining
