"abc 7 news" was at the kbar kadaro station to see passengers crowded on to a smoky platform. smoldering debris under the track caused them to single tube through the tube. passengers say the trains smelled like smoke and some were frustrated by the delays. >> my pizza is late, i'm late, my family is waiting for me for dinner. bad all around. >> it was really crowded but at the end of the station it was okay. i have seen worse. i have seen worse. >> sky 7 was over the west oakland bart station where even after the tracks cleared there were long waits for hundreds of passengers gathered at the stations. all right. new at 111:00 now, san jose police seized thousands of pounds of fireworks including large mortars considered to be explosive. "abc 7 news" reporter katey marzullo live at the san jose police department live with the story. katey. >> reporter: larry, the investigation started back in april lil. police used social media as one tool and netted nearly 3,000 pounds of fireworks. people we talked with said that's probably just a drop in the bucket. this is cellphone video of fireworks being set off in a neighborhood in san jose. it is illegal, and this man loves it. >> we usually have a big party every year and basically, you know, follow our traditions like everybody else does in the united states and set off fireworks. >> reporter: he says he will never stop, but san jose police are cracking down. officers seized 2700 pounds of fireworks between april and june, including three, four and five-inch mortars considered explosives. >> it is really loud, it is does frighten the dog, it frightens the children. >> reporter: the seizure is at least some good news for this woman who has called police about fireworks in the past. >> i think it is great and there's no way they have gotten them all because i hear people setting off fireworks every night already. >> reporter: during their investigation police identified two people involved with the distribution of fireworks. there's a warrant out for one much them. >> there's a lot more stuff out there they could be worried about right now. other than that, i mean i don't think they're ever going to stop it. >> reporter: the police chief calls the seizure extraordinary and says they're not done yet. in san jose, kate rhie marzullo "abc 7 news." the city of pacifica has a smart phone app residents can use to report illegal fireworks in their neighborhood. fund out more how to download it on our website abc7news.com. san francisco police gave the first minute by minute account of last week's shooting at a u.p.s. facility in petrero hill. police released this picture of the shooter, jimmie lamb. they are pulling over a journal they seized from the ups driver's home. they say during the 10-minute shooting spree he used a stolen illegal gun with a 30-round magazine to shoot and kill fellow drivers benson louie, wayne chan and mike lar lefti. the evident indicates the shooting of mr. louie, mr. chan and mr. lefti appears targeted. >> lam shot and killed himself. investigators say he carried out the shooting without saying anything and without warning. the state assembly laid aside a proposal to bring single pair health care to california. they called it woefully incomplete. they passed a bill earlier this month but didn't say how the state would raise money to pay for it. single payer is where residents pay the state through higher taxes to cover health care costs for all residents. decided to keep that bill in committee. in washington the investigation into alleged russian interference in the presidential electin continues to make headlines. today president trump had choice words for the special council who may be investigating him. abc's chuck sieverson explains. >> reporter: president trump is sidelined by his comments about the alleged russian meddling in the election. friday he shugd robert mueller is tainted and biassed against him. >> he's very good friends with comey, which is very bother some. >> reporter: trump offered a new explanation for why he tweeted that he recorded his conversations with james comey. it was a bluff, he said, to force the fired fbi director to tell the truth. >> i didn't tape, but when he found out that i -- you know, there may be tapes out there, whether it is governmental tapes or anything else -- and who knows -- i think his story may have changed. >> reporter: but trump's tweet about tapes triggered a sequence of events that led to appointment of special council investigating the president for possible obstruction of justice. another issue involving the president is generating outrage. >> when was the last time an actor assassinated a president? "abc 7 news" reporter leslie brinkley got the story on this in-flight emergency. >> reporter: it started out as a normal flight from oakland to chicago on june 6th for susan anderson and her daughter kimberly omansky, who were en route to visit family. halfway through the light there was an urge nlt announcement. >> is there a doctor or a nurse on this plane? there's an emergency. >> reporter: susan anderson says her daughter kimberly, a registered nurse, was the only licensed medical professional on the flight. a middle age women went into anaphalactic shock, a lighten threatening reaction. >> she could not breathe, was struggling and feeling ill and shutting down. it was a dire emergency. >> reporter: the pilot prepared formergency landing as the flight crew pulled out a first aid kit with off grand epipens in it. first one anderson says did not work, the second one finally did and the woman started breathing. another passenger offered benadryl. >> they called my daughter an angel. she was truly an angel. >> she saved a life?
