deet fheat fo. temperatures go up tomorrow m we'll take a look at those temperatures going up. >> thank you, leigh. burning this afternoon at chestnut avenue, lisa joins us live from south san francisco with a look at the response. lisa? >> ama, a very strong response from firefighters. in fact, crews are still out here trying to make sure that this fire does not reignite because at one point flames shot up into the air 60 feet. it was a full-fledged fire fight from the get-go on san bruno mountain this afternoon. crews attacked the fire from above. and from the ground, getting on top of it was crucial. >> this was a challenge of a fire due to the popping pograph. >> reporter: slowing it down did not mean knocking it down. the heat conditions did not help. there were some voluntarily evacuations. >> i just took my evening medicine for blood pressure. >> reporter: standing by and watching the flames rush along the boulevard was too much for some residents and so they leapt into action. they attached as many garden hoses as they could find and started spraying. they evening managed to put out some small flames on their own. but they were glad when the experts arrived. the fire engulfed 40 acres of a mountain and came close to the mon montessori school. thankfully it was closed today. fortunately no structures were damaged and no one was hurt. the cause of the fire is still under investigation. live in south san francisco, lisa amin gulezian, abc news. we have breaking news out of mountain view. at least two homes are burning right now. it started about 8:00 this evening at a home on orange industry lane. adjacent homes have been evacuated. no one has been hurt. stay with abc news for updates. firefighters are making progress with the rim fire. aerial drop spots last night helped keep flames within containment lines. federal teams are heading to the scene to assess the damage. containment remains at 80% with full containment now expected on friday, september 20th. the fire that crews say was started by an illegal camp fire has now burned 394 square miles. in san jose, investigators tonight are trying to figure out what caused the large warehouse fire. you can see the flames in this video provided to us by abc 7 news viewer amanda savage. it started near mayberry road around 11:00 night. firefighters raced to the scene. no people were hurt but a dog was hurt and is recovering. police in vallejo are searching for a gunman after a triple shooting that killed an 18-year-old man. it happened just before 11:30 last night on louisiana street near city park. officers found a white honda at the scene riddled with bullet holes. the driver died. two passengers 16 and 17 years old were wounded and are in the hospital. police believe someone drove by and shot the people. on the east side, several people reported hearing shots on gilchrist drive. they are interviewing someone they call a possible suspect. they haven't released a motive in the shooting. a man was rescued from the bay and dive crews responded to the scene near the ferry building. it's believed the man intentionally jumped into the water. once crews reached him, he was able to pull himself back out on his own. police haven't said why they took him into custody. the president continues to push for support for a strike against syria. the president says its prove that the syrian government used nerve gas against its own people and shows the after effects of the gas. the president will give a speech on tuesday. today, thousands around the world protested against the provoked air strikes on syria. abc 7 reporter has a look at several demonstrations in san francisco. >> reporter: the message at this small noontime rally was clear. these people oppose the idea of u.s. military air strikes against syria. an hour later, the rally grew into a large protest march up market street. >> this is not what the american people want, to have a war in syria. i think that we need to have diplomacy and everyone out of syria. >> i feel like people have forgotten about the last ten years, 15 years. like what's going on. >> reporter: meantime, at union square there was another rally going on with a much different message. >> stop the hate! >> reporter: these syrian americans are urging the u.s. to stop the use of chemical weapons by the syrian government against innocent americans. >> the assad dictatorship is like cancer and that cancer is growing. we need to come in and that's what we're asking. >> what can possibly go wrong with dropping bombs on syria. >> reporter: one person dressed like nancy pelosi outside of where the real pelosi was giving a speech. she tried to upstage the congresswoman with a sign but she was escorted away by the police. >> stopping the use of weapons of mass destruction is the pillar of our national security. assad regime used them but that cannot continue. >> reporter: pelosi knows that that position has opposition on the streets and protests are expected to get louder in the days to come. why dog owners are upset about a plan proposed for many bay area parks. plus, a look at the feature on the upcoming iphone that has unveiling its new iphone, apple says it will be able to read your fingerprints. it will likely have the fingerprint technology near the home button of the device. user identities will be identified by the print. the swip and print was one of the things that steve jobs hated about the iphone. there will be a lower cost model, the iphone 5s will be released in about two weeks. bay area dog owners are upset because there's a revised dog management plan for 21 locations within the golden gate recreational area. the new rules would ban dogs where they are now allowed and at most of ocean beach. the proposal would require the use of leashes at five places in marin county where dogs can run free. the national park service will be holding three meetings next concerns about it being so close to the fukushima nuclear crisis but japan promised that the site would be safe. tokyo beat out madrid, spain, and istanbul, turkey. so of course they are celebrating cooler today because of this band of fog moving north. it's in southern california. it's slowly creeping up the coast and possibly cool the coastal communities a few degrees tomorrow. inland, you're the air. santa rosa, 68. 69 in napa. concord right now, you're still very mild to warm at 80 degrees. livermore, you're at 77. here's a look at our forecast highlights. we'll keep it mild to warm overnight with mainly clear skies and we'll see a little bit of patchy fog near the coast. 100 degrees inland and a cooler pattern will set up for us as we head into tuesday. here is a look at our visible -- you can see some in the last frame right there, some of that fog that started to move in towards monterey bay earlier in the day and the wind pattern, this is what set up the hot temperatures, especially inland. high pressure to the north bringing in the downsloping winds flowing from land to sea and the air is compressing very close to the surface near the sea level and that's why temperatures near the coast tomorrow will definitely start to heat up. here is a trend, for example, tomorrow, oakland, 87. we'll warm it up even more on monday to 88 degrees. and then the trend will be much cooler on tuesday, wednesday, and thursday. the next two days will be hot and then things will start to come on down. by the way, if you're going to the mountain view art and wine festival tomorrow, it's going to be hot. by 3:00, temperatures climbing into the low 90s. and it's going to stay quite mild there even after the 6:00 time frame. overnight temperatures, mild and overnight lows in the mid-to upper 60s inland and even in the north bay where some of that heat will stay with you throughout the evening. highs tomorrow will go with 100 for antioch, 102 for livermore. 78 for san francisco. 96 for fremont and we'll look for 97 in morgan hill. here's a look at the seven-day forecast. a couple more days of heat. it's going to be hot inland on monday temperatures near 100 degrees inland. 90s around the bay. 70s at the coast and then there's that cooling off period tuesday, wednesday, and thursday, back down to normal where we should be for this nashville. he tipped the scales at a whopping 31 pounds and was dangerously overweight. so employees helped him slim down using an underwater treadmill. in just a month, he's lost five pounds. buddha's goal is to lose 11 total to weigh in at 20 pounds and animal control believe that a skinnier buddha is more likely to get adopted and live a longer kitty feline life. that is it for abc 7
