lines of shower activity and thunder showers as well. line of activity through san francisco. powerful storms up to in our north up around healdsburg clover dale and powerful storms and lightning strike in the last few minutes and no doubt locally heavy downpour and drenching rainfall and line of showers locally heavy reaching from san francisco and northern part of the peninsula across the bay to the east bay weighs close in on concord, walnut creek, pleasant hill. you can see that there are pockets of downpour there as well so wet weather scattered all about the bay year and again pockets of this activity are heavy. locally heavy. we also see snow continuing to fall in the central sierra around south lake tahoe. to winter there traveling in that direction just may very well need some chains for your tires. back to the bay area right now. it's wet in some spots. relativelyñi cool temperatures right now are in the 50's for the most part and these are our forecast feature. we'll 10 to see scattered showers tonight. isolated thunderstorms are possible. even likely and more showers likely to fall on tuesday and wednesday although generally widely scattered. satellite radar composite image shows the frontal system that swept through early today that brought this morning wave of stormy weather. behind the front we have cold unstable air. you can see pockets of showers scattered about there so this is why we expect scattered showers over the next two days. start our forecast animation at 11:00 o'clock tonight. at which point we expect some fairly wide spread and significant rainfall activity. or showers activity. 5:00 o'clock tomorrow morning wet spots in the morning commute. maybe widely scattered but wet nonetheless. daytime hour breaks in sunshine and passage of clouds scattered showers as well late afternoon evening hours tomorrow. so by 11:00 o'clock tomorrow night rape fall total expected to be up to half inch in the north bay mountains. perhaps up to half inch in the wet east location and east south bay and quarter inch in the north bay or peninsula or the santa cruz mountains and over in the sierra. winter storm warning is in effect until >>reporter: in piedmont, carolyn tyler, abc 7 news. throughout northern california 3 day fundraiser is now under way for the family of highway patrol officer young strom. he was shot and killed during a traffic stop on interstate 6 80 in alamo last month. now through wednesday night 20 percent of the sales that california pizza kitchen restaurants will go to benefit fund for his wife and 4 school that died. that's half of the victims. our children were ripped from us and nobody should experience that. >>reporter: she lost her daughter jessica. and the son will husband greg and mother-in-law levon. they add their voice to growing voice of the removal of the p uc president and overwhelming evidence he's not using his position to protect the people of california but to protect the utilities. in particular pg&e. most recently furious about the way he is handling the process of deciding how pg&e will be punished for the san bruno disaster suspending public hearings in favor of >>reporter: resident started a petition drive. san bruno city council san mateo county supervisor will consider resolution calling for his removal and assemblyman hill is in touch with the governor italian earthquake expert convicted of manslaughter today for failing to predict an earthquake. italian court sentenced the scientist to 6 years in prison for neglecting to adequately warn citizens before an earthquake struck central italy in 2009 killing more than 300 people. scientist worldwide have described the trial as ridiculous contending that science has no way to predict earthquakes. >> according to new study farmers may have drilled deep well to water their crops and caused app earthquake. the scientist say the ground water removal may implicated in a deadly 2011 earthquake there.
