people in the area, police are hoping someone saw something suspicious. >> the district attorney's office is asking for help in locating a san jose mother and infant with a serious medical condition. she was last seen july 9th. she was told she no longer had custody of her 10 month son. she's believed to be traveling with her son. a deputy district attorney said he's concerned about boy's health and safety. she has several facial piercings and a number of tattoos. >> prosecutors will decide if a homeowner will face charges stemming from last year's valley fire in lake county. that fire killed four people. the flames destroyed more than 1900 buildings. and charred more than 118 square miles. the owner of the house installed a new hot tub and admits that he tried to do the wiring job himself. >> there is a permit required for e llectrical installation. >> it will be turned over to the legal staff to determine if a crime has been committed. >> the district attorney has a month to file misdemeanor charges and up to two years if the charge is a felony. investigators zeroed in on the home soon after the fire started. they had to be sure after leads that directed it to arson and drug labs. it's the third most destructive fire in california history. and a new evacuation, the mineral fire has grown to 5,000 acres. it broke out yesterday afternoon. it's burning in steep terrain. it makes containment difficult. people living in the fire zone have been asked to leave their homes. >> evacuate me at 1:30 in the morning and then back to the house, and then at 2:00 in the afternoon they pull up and say you got to roll. i said i'm out of here. and so now i'm wondering if i have a house. 1,000 firefighters are on the front lines of the fire. it's only 10% contained. >> dramatic progress has been made by crews fighting the pilot fire burning in san bernardino county. that fire is now 64 % contained after burning 7800 acres. that's up from just 6 % containment yesterday. a fire burned nearly 70,000 acres of monterey county. 57 homes burned down. firefighters say it started with an illegal campfire nearly three weeks ago. crews hope to have it contained by the end of the month. 24 suspected gang members are now in an east bay jail after months of an intensive investigation involving the fbi, chp and local law enforcement. abc7 leslie brinkley is on the story. >> reporter: these are the faces of the 24 gang members officials say are responsible for highway shootings, human trafficking, attempted murders, and drug deals. >> this investigation results in at least two multiple witness murder plots. we had individuals plotting to murder some of the witnesses that had come forward and spoken to the police. >> reporter: this is the customized boat the da's office said the gang members cruised around in. a prominent number 14 on the front. their adopted emblem. they said it was bought with illegal drug profits. also a car. the backseat killed with marin. >> that membership and activity gets the joy and profits from preying on our community. >> a number of the suspects being investigated were linked and suspected of various highway shootings. >> reporter: highway shootings are believed to be connected to some of the suspects arrested. >> they use the freeways and highways that we patrol as part of their day to tai travels whether they're going to the store or conducting criminal activity. >> reporter: the investigation originated in concord and expanded to include the fbi and other law enforcement agencies. they also seized meth an fete mien and marijuana. the gang members included the arrests of the ring leaders named a 31-year-old shawn dunn and 28-year-old m arian o cortano. >> oakland police arrested a suspect after a shooting and car fire early monday morning. the shooting happened before 2:00 and left two people dead and one critically injured. the district attorney's office charged francisco hernandez. the search for a missing hiker in northern california has been called off after search and rescue team volunteer was shot. a 69-year-old is recovering from a bullet wound to the hip. he was part of a volunteer search team looking for a 75-year-old man missing for seven days. the shooting happened near the nevada county town of washington. so far the gunman has not been found. a single engine cessna with a student pilot at the controls over ran the runway in san jose this morning. we show you the four seater crashed through a fence and stopped on a road. the pilot and instructor walked by unharmed. it happened during a flight lesson. >> jose canseco is in the headlines after his car was broken into. he starredoakland. the 52-year-old now plays for the pittsburgh diamonds. that's an expanding the solar energy facilities. it's having to work a little more cautiously after learning this nine acre site is an historic native american burial site. archaeologist have known about it for immediately took action to make any corrections so that they would not be impact. >> reporter: an archaeologist chosen by the tribal council will be on site for future trench work. one says she hopes to damage will be done. >> it's late for anything to be done, but for the other construction they should be careful. tonight the city manager believes the guilty verdict against pg&e means justice was serve. the crest moore neighborhood was the epicenter. many of the residents aren't happy with the verdict. here's vic lee. >> it was an entirely manmade disaster. one that resulted from negligent decision making and actions by pg&e corporate executives over six decades. >> reporter: san bruno city manager minced no words. the city of san bruno fought against pg&e, fighting to bring the corporate utility company to justice. guilty to six criminal counts of violating the federal pipeline safety law including one count of obstructing the investigation. the district attorney interpreted the jury's decision this way. >> you are held accountable. you are a company that is properly described as felons. >> reporter: pg&e faces fines up to $3 million. at the last minute federal prosecutors backed off asking for hundreds of millions in penalties. and the evidence which the da has seen did not support prosecuting the company's executives. >> do you know how it works? the fingers point. i was just following direction or i didn't know what was going on down there. >> somebody should be charged and held responsible for murder of everybody that died. >> reporter: this woman echoed the sentiments of many who live in this neighborhood near the epicenter of the explosion. while not commenting directly on the verdict, pg&e says it won't forget the lessons of the past and that they are fully committed to safety. vic lee, abc7 news. the last of five big trusses on the old eastern span of the bay bridge came down today. this is time lapsed video of the work. it took several hours to lower the truss which also happens to contain the section of roadway that collapsed during the loma earthquake. all that remains of the old bay bridge are 14 smaller trusses. each from a fire burning in monterey county to the south and push it into the atmosphere inland. there will be hazy skies. poor air quality inland east bay. everywhere else, moderate air quality. if you monday and tuesday and delayed hundreds more, including several at san francisco international. the airline is offering refunds to passengers. some overseas travel vouchers for future flights. >> one that isn't a story and make it into a big deal. it happens so much. we have to protect our second amendment which is under siege. remember. remember. under siege. >> reporter: prominent trump supporters say he was joking, not inciting violence. trump himself explaining it this way. >> we're talking about political power. there's tremendous political power to save the second amendment. tremendous. you look at the power they have in terms of votes and that's what i was referring to, obviously. >> reporter: trump refuting a cnn report that the secret service reached out to his campaign to discuss his comment. tweeting no such meeting or conversation ever happened. a made up story by low ratings cnn. even paul ryan who endorsed trump telling supporters this after his primary doing and it's dangerous. writing about lone wolves, he writes they hear the signal in the house. even joe scarborough writing in the washington post, quote, a bloody line has been crossed. donald trump has left this republican party few options but to act and get this political train wreck off the tracks before something terrible happens. hillary clinton campaigned in iowa. as she was about to department releasing dozens of previously unreleased exchanges raising questions about donations to the clinton foundation in exchange for favors. in one an aide is directed to connect a donor with the u.s. m bass or the to lebanon. today the campaign saying she never took action as secretary of state because of donations to the clinton foundation. but trump says it's pay for play connections. >> reporter: hillary clinton seems confident. they are now expanding their battle ground map to republican strong hold like arizona and georgia. they think they can win over some of the republicans unhappy with donald trump. a san francisco judge has dismissed a lawsuit filed against twitter by family members who lost loved ones in an isis attack. the judge found the plaintiffs didn't claim that the man who killed their relatives actually used twitter. the judge left the door open for the plaintiffs to clarify their arguments. twitter has since cracked down on the use of their service by
