>> a little bit seems to crumble away every day. but the process to fix it doesn't seem to be moving quite as fast. today the city council is meeting to ratification the declaration of emergency one week after the hill gave way. >> the process moving fairly quickly. emergency declaration has done fairly quickly. we did that last sunday. it has to be ratified. >> and walkers are living in a hotel. the house isn't safe. they definitely need help from the government considering the estimated costs of securing the hillside is $5 million. >> we're hoping and praying that it comes soon. i don't know houch time the house has to sit there. >> the city council has found city money to offer the victims for their short term needs. they are asking other residents about doing the same. >> at today's meeting, the city council will provide $6,000 for donation fund for the six affected homeowners. >> the walkers say every little bit help given that they don't have mean to rent. they are still thinking of this house as their home and they hope to one day get back in it. >> i'm still in denial. >> reporter: if you would like to donate the fund has been set up at mechanics bank. the family is trying to get money out of the insurance company and they are hoping it will come in from the state. it's very hard when the process is so much waiting. >> kristen: san pablo city leaders are teaming up with officials in nearby hercules to help from the state. a sleight slide threatening homes there and at the same time. homeowners in a south bay neighborhood are dealing with trouble. in mountain view where several people had to vehicle their homes. >> it's quite a dramatic scene at the mobile home park. if we take a look at the video you can see how stevens creek ate away at the backyard. the erosion took over several days and the sunday was the final collapse. one of the men at the mobile homes he was forced out of his home. he has lived here eight years and never seen the creek at the levels which tore away the hillside. he said he lost 50 feet of backyard and two neighbors had the same fate. so we have three monthly homes that are red-tagged. they are not livable because of the erosion at the back of the mobile home because of the creek. there is heavy erosion issues. there is information that indicates that one of these mobile homes is going to be moved later today to an available space but the man that i spoke with said his mobile home is too big and it cannot be moved. the mob home park manager as well as the water district are now working together to try to come up with some sort of solution but that process could take some time. karina rusk, "abc 7 news." a two-year-old pleasanton boy is now safe after a frightening ordeal. the toddler was found wandering in the parking lot of a walmart in the middle of the night. >> right now it appears to be a case of a 2-year-old boy, they are not filing any charges. child protective services is holding its own investigation and they say the child is here in the care of cps. no word on when the boy will be reunited with his mother or if he already has. it unfolded around 3:00 this morning when a walmart employee found a toddler wearing a t-shirt and a diaper. a mom woke up and discovered the boy was missing and made a frantic call. he lives in an apartment across from the walmart. they believe he opened the door and walked over the road and over to the walmart. fortunately there was no traffic and weather was mild. >> do we know why he wandered to the wal-mart? >> he seemed to be familiar with the store. he even went to the mcdonald's sign and said he wanted french-fries. >> police say the boy and his mom recently moved into the apartment which was designed for someone in a wheelchair so the doorknob was lower and automatically unlocked the deadbolt when you open the door. she wanted to get the locks changed and definitely will now that this has happened. pleasanton police will not be filing any charges saying there was no criminal negligence but cps needs to conduct their own investigation. they say the boy is healthy, happy and in good spirits. >> cheryl: acting san francisco police chief criticized a person today what he says is a constant attack on the department. he addressed about another southwest video that depicts police misconduct. they say it shows them mishandling an arrest on a marijuana suspect. the chief says it shows nothing illegal. a judge dismissed the case against the suspect. >> kristen: the barry bonds perjury trial. a surgeon testified. the doctor denied performance enhancing drugs. hoskins said he had as many 50 conversations with king about bonds. he says he gave hem steroids to help an injury. the prosecution could wrap up the case as early today. >> barry zito has been released from the hospital after his car was broadsided in west hollywood last night. he was taken to cedar sinai for an examination. he is experiencing soreness and upper body and will have an mri today. the crash happened on sunset boulevard. he said the crash was not his fault but his car had major damage. he is scheduled to start on sunday but that is now in doubt. >> today the giants begin their quest to defend their world series championship. opener will be played in los angeles with a 5:00 start. if you can't travel to southern california, you can watch the game on the jumbotron. tickets are $45 and that money will go to a local charity called the guardsmen that help disadvantaged people. >> the mayor is expected to release america's cup transportation plan to host the yacht races. he envisions a new street car line. street closures along the waterfront and modified muni transits. he is promising bicycle and pedestrian friendly ways through the city. >> still ahead, consumer alert. a government warning about the dangers new activity called water walking. >> and new blow to moammar gadhafi's g for deals these days,not g about saving a dollar off shampoo or two-for-one tacos or something. i'm talking about paying less -- every month. like this deal. than this time yesterday. anywhere from 2 degrees in fairfield to 12 in livermore. double-digit warmth in fremont, santa rosa the exact same. as far as the temperatures look at all the 70s. entire bay shore into the south bay. out to concord around livermore and santa rosa, everybody else in the mid to upper 50s. around monterey bay, low to mid-70s but well on our way to more record high temperatures this sunny afternoon. cooling trend starts tomorrow really at the coast and san francisco and then pushes inland. pretty fast wind saturday, and sun is, 40 miles an hour and surf could be about 20 feet. today is much caller day to be at our beaches. here is whaps what happened. wind started to blow offshore and look at all the fog as it disappears and brings us the warmest day of the seven-day forecast. east bay, look for the asterisks record highs, 78 in richmond, low 80s for the rest of the east bay shore. south bay, mid to upper 80s for you. 79 in millbrae. 73 in half moon bay but we could jump up mid-70s millbrae, sunset. bodega, 68. then low to mid-80s through most of the valleys and monterey and carmel, low to mid-70s. look how we jump almost 10 degrees warmer. now around the state we're not even warmest, palm springs, 95. l.a. nearly 90. it's going to warm in the stadium for the game. low to mid-80s in is central california. technically the game is dodgers game
