It is now a full week after this accident and one of the three children hurt is still hospitalized here. The family speaking out this morning, has a long road to recovery. Kayla reynolds is just ten years old and shes telling us this morning that shes lucky shes alive after falling nearly 40 feet from the cabin of this ferris wheel at the greene just really scared. Reporter in an view only on gma, she shows us the baby blue cast thats now protecting her broken arm. Falling on the ground, my arm saved me. Reporter she remembers the moment clearly when she, another girl and her 6yearold sister were thrown to the ground. Ive got three kids that fell from the ferris wheel, three kids. Reporter after their orange ferris wheel basket got caught on another while the ride was turning. I was really worried about briely because people said wasnt breathing. Reporter their mom and dad were right there watching, horrified. And we both took off running towards the ferris wheel, towards the operator, and were yelling, stop, stop now. Shes like trying to reach and grab stuff to hold onto. Briely reynolds is still in rough shape. Tubes and swelling, and she just didnt look like my child at all. Reporter doctors say she suffered a traumatic brain injury. Her family is sharing these pictures from her hospital bedside. When she hit, her eyes rolled back in her head. It was it was tough. Absolutely. Yeah, yeah. Worst thing ive ever seen in my life. And i couldnt do anything. Everybody is like, dont touch her, dont touch her. Thats my baby. Reporter authorities now say what happened was an accident, and safety inspectors are blaming mechanical failure. But when we got a close look inside the orange cabin we lap restraints, and inspectors say those safety features are not required. This is the second accident in recent years tied to the company that runs the ferris wheel. Several people were hurt in raleigh when a ride called the vortex started spinning when people were getting off. Family attractions says its pulling for the girls in tennessee. First weve got a health alert for pregnant women about tylenol. Its a new study that suggests women who take it could increase the risks their babies develop behavioral problems. Our chief Womens Health so tell us more about this. Heres the study right here. Comes out of a very well respected peer review journal. Were talking about one of the most commonly used medications acetaminophen thats used in pregnancy and this study found women who took it while they were pregnant went on to have children who were at increased risk for problems with conduct, hyperactivity and emotional issues. Now, issues and flaws and limitations with this study. There is no data about why these women pregnancy. Theres a thinking that the reason that caused them to need to take the medication could be implicated here. No data on how much they took, the dose or for how long, so more research definitely needed. Yeah, because some doctors are saying they need a little bit more on that. So why would a pregnant woman take this . Look, i think we have to remember that in obstetrics we have two patients here, a mother and a baby and so there can be maternal and fetal anything from a headache to a muscle ache to a kidney stone so theres a spectrum there. Fever, we know if the mother gets a fever, that is not good for a developing baby, so that could be a fetal reason, and then injury and surgery. That happens to pregnant women just like it happens to nonpregnant women so you have to weigh those. Youve delivered, what, Something Like 1500 babies so you know of what you speak. So what do you recommend to your patients if theyre having issues . This is so important. Yesterday i was in touch w our National Society and they came out very strongly against this study right now saying that this study and others in the past show no clear evidence that provides a direct relationship between acetaminophen and any behavioral problems. We say it over and over again on abc because its so important. Association does not equal causation. We need to have the science and the biology to show a cause and effect before we make a sweeping recommendation and right now women should not be afraid to take this if they really need it. They can do if theyre having certain issues . You know, thats the therapeutic dilemma and we try to avoid aspirin, nonsteroidal, opioids have their issues so talk to your midwife or obstetrician. Did you feel that because of the historical nature of what you were doing, did you also feel like you were carrying that weight of the black community into the pool with you . Yes, sometimes, i mean just with how im swimming and hopefully bringing some awareness to the sport to diversify it but i also swim for myself so theres two sides to the coin. Pressure on myself but i do realize that it is a huge deal for swimming and hopefully moving forward. Are you hopeful of the ones that the diversity coming up behind you . Yeah, yeah, im very hopeful. I mean, just hopefully im an inspiration to others to get into the water. And whats next for you . Are there any rules for the fabric . Choose a fabric thats more synthetic and has structure to it. Nothing thats transparent. If youre petite like sara is, youre looking for something that has a little tiny bit more volume. Are there any rules to what kinds of shorts will work . A good rule of thumb is to actually follow your thumbs if you will. Her longest finger is in line with the hem length of the short. Because of the lifesaving be the match registry his donor provided matching marrow. The donor gave me a bone marrow transplant. The family gave me lots of love.
