said he was embarrassed and ashamed. the former host has now been fired. if donald trump wins the election he may have a meeting some are calling questionable. some say he would meet with russia's president. damage control. trump claiming that the tensions between president obama and putin is potentially catastrophic. as for election fraud, the white house saying tonight that it is not worried about even though trump continues to talk about a potentially rigged election. a spokesperson says they have not seen any evidence that this is happening. meantime here in the valley a group of volunteers will be at the polls this upcoming election making sure that voters are safe and have the correct information before they cast their ballots. the arizona commission election accountability says it needs more volunteers. they say right now they have about 100. two little girls shot to death by their own father inside their west valley home. police say they may release their names tomorrow but for now we can tell you the girls are four and five years old. detectives say their father killed them and then took his own life. before the tragedy we're learning the girls' mother called police worried about her in mesa linked to a deadly shooting outside a valley gas station. police say the 18-year-old is accused of killing a 35-year- old back on september 25th near hayden and mckellips. police say they are confident this is the only suspect. a second life is on the line tonight after a deadly crash in the valley. a man and woman riding a motorcycle were hit by a truck pulling a trailer. they were on 48th street between southern and broadway. the man didn't make it. the woman is in the ho right now and we're told she's in pretty rough shape. we're getting our first images from the scene as we track a gas leak. we're told crews have been given the all clear at this apartment complex near 27th and indian school. 30 people were evacuated. no major injuries. one worker suffered some minor flash burn. the department of justice has now filed its proposed criminal contempt charges mary ellen, you just finished speaking with sheriff arpaio's attorney. what's his response to all of this? >> reporter: well, they have some objections in regards to this order to show cause. this is what the d.o.j. actually filed today. it's would federal court judge susan bolton will use if and when she criminally charges sheriff arpaio. he and his attorney have until 5:00 p.m. tomorrow to file their reply before it all hits the books. >> we felt that it made sound like, because the judge was signing the order, that she somehow agreed with those allegations. >> reporter: attorney mel mcdonald and sheriff joe arpaio don't like how the department worded the charms. the sheriff is accused of deliberate result disobeying a federal court judge's orders in 2011 when he refused to stop his illegal immigration sweeps. now he is facing contempt charges with a sentence of six months or less. default this would become a misdemeanor, not a felony. >> reporter: which means the sheriff gets to keep his day job. >> even if the d.o.j. gets a conviction it is likely that sheriff joe will stay right where he is, assuming he is still in office. >> reporter: but it also means he won't get a jury trial. >> it doesn't mean we can't ask for a jury trial and argue for a jury trial. it simply means that we don't after constitutional right. >> reporter: now, attorney mel mcdonald told means is that the d.o.j. are simply saying that they want the judge to make this decision. pulled. a manhunt coming to an end for a man accused of murder. deputies raymond valencia is his name. he is facing charges of first- degree murder in the shooting death of two people. investigators found a 48-year- old and an 18-year-old dead over the weekend inside a home near tucson. at this time there is no word of motive. tonight we're getting a look at a man who police say shot and killed another man at a bar. the man is suspected of opening fire at a pub in casa grande. officers say he got into a fight with andrew noriega, and he is facing second-degree murder charges. major progress tonight as drenching rains helped crews in nevada get the upper hand at a wildfire. it is now 55% contained. a state of emergency was declared friday. 23 homes have burned in all. the fire has charred 3400 akers between reno and carson city. crews hope to have it fully contained by wednesday. we're also on wildfire watch in colorado. take a look at that smoke this coming from a fire in southern part of that state. it is already burned more than 13,000 akers in custer county. evacuation orders are in effect for hundreds of families. right now it is unclear how that fire started. back here
