Palo alto will be at 84, oakland 76 and 70 today in San Francisco. Our temperatures ramp up several more degrees tomorrow, i will talk more about this coming up in a few minutes. We just got that information from San Francisco police and the updates since our last report we know that there was a woman who was shot and transported to the hospital but we are talking about a standoff thats been taking place since roughly about 11 45 p. M. Were standing on castro street, behind me a 15th street. Thats one of the streets where its blocked off as that standoff continues right up the block. The 2500 block of 15th street. We just got briefed from San Francisco police, theyre saying shots fired roughly 11 45 p. M. Last night. They located a male in this area on that block up there on 15th street. When they tried to make contact with him theyre saying he locked himself inside of his home. We are not sure at this time if that is his home, but theyre currently negotiating with the suspects but that new piece of information is that we know now that a woman was injured through all of this and was transported to hospital and they dont know the extent of her injuries at this time. We will take you guys back out here live, were seeing San Francisco Fire Department unit leaving the scene but we see a number of police units here on the scene and we will continue to monitor the situation of course on that block, there is a shelter in place for folks there as that standoff continues as well as on beaver street down the way here. They find Lynnette Gibson mcelheney broke ethics rules in 2014 when she interfered to stop construction of a proposed Housing Development next to her home. Many questions remain unanswered this morning in connection with the death of a 54yearold milpitas man. His body was found Early Saturday Morning at windsor street near calaveras boulevard in milpitas. All police are telling us is that they considered this a homicide case but they are not saying why. The mans identity is not being released either and there is no one in custody. Authorities are trying to determine if a weekend smash and grab jewelry robbery is expected to other similar crimes. Three masked thieves targeted the novato costco they grabbed thousands of dollars in jewelry before taking off in a waiting car. This is the fourth time in two months the bay area costco jewelry departments have been targeted in the same way. Each time by three masked chiefs. Were going to do what we can to identify the suspects. We will work with outside agencies that have experienced the same incident and see if we cant collaborate. The other thefts happened in danville and foster city. In all those cases three masked thieves carried out nearly identical crimes without showing any weapons. Happening today senator john mccain is back in arizona to begin treatment for his brain tumor. Doctors discovered the tumor earlier this month when they were removing a blood clot above his eye. He was diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer, despite the diagnosis the senator flew to washington to cast deciding votes blocking republican efforts to repeal obamacare. A followup on a story weve been reporting on for really a few years now. A lawsuit has been filed against a Union City School district after a third grade teacher was convicted of molesting students. You may recall this case michael howie, he taught at alvarado elementary school. He was sent to prison in 2013 for molesting nine students. Now the east bay times is reporting one of the victims is suing the new haven unified School District which employed that teacher. The suit argues the district knew about the teachers behavior but did nothing about it. The faa reportedly getting closer to a plan to reduce airplane noise over some bay area cities. The agency recently released a report on noise reduction recommendations for planes flying into the bay area. The report focuses primarily on flights arriving at sfo and palo alto is among those cities feeling the impact. One solution involves a new flight path for incoming planes. Faa leaders now have to decide which recommendation to enact. There is no set timetable on when they might do that. As we get a look at our temperatures now as you get ready to head out the door we are mostly in the upper 50s, now 60 degrees in san jose and the sevenday forecast is up at the bottom of the screen, you can see we will have some 90s, mid 90s in the forecast as we head into tomorrow as well as wednesday. Were going to be there today in morgan hill, up to 95 degrees, cupertino know topping out at 90 degrees, east bay, oakland, 76, livermore today at 95 degrees and 84 in palo alto while daly city will see the High Temperature of 64.
