So he called affordable water heaters and plumbing to fix it. Dan says the tech couldnt get the burner to light and concluded it couldnt be fixed. So he sold dan a new water heater for 1,500. But once it was installed the burner still wouldnt light. As it turns out there was no gas coming into the house and that was the problem. So dan asked the company to reinstall his old water heater, but it said it no longer had it. Instead the Company Offered to refund dan its labor costs for installing the new unit. Developing in the south bay this morning firefighters are still battling a fire burning dangerously close to the popular mt. Eden winery in saratoga and not too far from the mountain winery there. This is new video in from just about the last 90 minutes or so as nbc bay areas sky ranger was flying overhead. Bob redell is live with the progress firefighters made overnight as well as another challenge that they faced before the fire. You dug up new information about that overnight and its surprising that it happened. Reporter yes, and ill have more on that. The latest numbers on this fire in the foothills of western saratoga. I did speak with the Santa Clara CountyFire Department. They tell us ten acres burned and that right now they have fire lines around 40 of the burn area. Right now the flames have laid down but now the sun is coming up there is concern you can see more fire activity. When i asked the Fire Department if theyll be calling in more aerial attacks the Fire Department told me 100 most like willy a helicopter at the very least. This fire started around 3 20 yesterday afternoon on mt. Eden road. It burned close to the mountain winery. Thats a popular town here in the east bay. No structures threatened no one was hurt. At one point firefighters had to suspend their air attack because of an unauthorized drone flying over the fire. It probably didnt affect had this fire that much. However, if that drone impacts that helicopter. It could potentially cross cause it to crash. Reporter the Fire Department is investigating that drone the am flying a drone over an emergency area is a violation of California Law and faa rules. I did some checking. The faa reports there are almost 1,300 drone sightings and incidents between february and september of 2016 of last year. Thats several hundred more than the same time period the year before. Now we know that about 100 units will be entitled to a property tax cut this year according to the citys assessor. A new report may just prove what you thought you already knew, the bay area wages are not even coming close to keeping up with housing costs here according to a report by the Silicon Valley institute and reported by the mercury news. They expect it to have a major impact for at least half an hour. I just learned the department of transportation cannot get better signage until at least 7 30. I dont know when theyre going to clear it this up. We see a crash, a secondary crash in the backup approaching el charro just past it is where that crash and the debris and the spill has actually blocked the slow lane so, again, we dont nope the estimated time of opening but at least 7 30 when we get proper signage, theyre not going to have to wait for those signs. Minneapolis police chief calls the shooting a tragic death and is promising an investigation. Damons father says this is his Worst Nightmare and he wants answers about what happened. Still no sign of the father who went missing during a flash flood in central air arp over the weekend. That man was at a family out in at a river when the flash flood struck. Nine people were killed. Student loans for tens of thousands of people may soon be wiped away because of missing paperwork. The New York Times reports that 5 billion in student loan funding is now in limbo. Judges are voiding some loans in court because the trust has not been able to prove that it owns the loans which were originally made by banks and then sold to investors.
