Out of nowhere, i would get pounded with a brief downpour. It only lasts for a few you minutes. It is already very wet out there. It is is just keeping things wet across the bay. As we take a look now at the radar, were tracking one little cell in the north bay that has been producing some lightning. This is something we saw a little bit yesterday. So still a lot of energy left within this storm. Even after the main first storm system has moved out, it will be moving towards vavaville. And spotty showers in the east bay moving through pinole, west freed mont. Wet roads. That may impacts commute. That is right when more folks are hitting the road. Were watching for a couple of spinouts. Concern on south 101, ralston. Delays there. A spinout south of 92. Traffic starts to build. Five minutes heading to San Francisco towards the south bay. 880, a couple around oak street. They are moving shoulder. Crash 588 grand, a lot of slowing. It is is just starting to recover now. They are trying to recover in pacifica. We are tracking large waves and winds along the coastline this morning. Here you can see the waves crashing into the pier in pacifica yes. That is nothing compared to what we will see this weekend. What we can expect during the next round. Good morning, bob. Reporter good morning, sam. If you compare the waves to pacifica pier 24 hours ago, it is definitely much more turbulent. You can tell there is more turbulence out there. We do expect it to intensify the next 24 to 48 hours. Forecasters predicting waves as high as 25 to 30 feet tall come this saturday morning. As the next storm comes in. The city of pacifica is doing its best to prepare for this next onslaught of wind and rain. The Public Works Department cleaned out the drain, making sure the pipe was clear. There is a large hole, 40 feet wide, 15 feet deep. And a nearby cliff eroding for a years, this latest storm is a reminder why the apartment complex needs to come down. Workers are removing as much of the interior as they can before demolition starts early next week. Back along the seawall, fighting the wind and rain yesterday. They repaired a railing. Crews in the mountains of central italy are scramble to go try and rescue people believed to be trapped inside a hotel. It was hit by an avalanche after yesterdays strong earthquake. Two dozen people are unaccounted for. Nbc news reports one confirmed death. Two people were able to be rescued from underneath the rubble. Crews still fear there could be many more deaths. Reports of people trapped sending frantic Text Messages to their loved ones. More breaking news out of iran. Thats a high rise Building Collapse killing 35 firefighters. There are reports as high as 50. Dozens of others were believed to be trapped in the rubble. It was a 17story structure that caught fire in tehran. A lot of emotion out there is said to be among the first high rises built in the iranian capital. Public defenders are releasing new body camera which we are about to show you. You may find it disturbing. They are asking the District Attorneys Office to drop charges against the suspect. The shooting happened january 6th outside a home on capital avenue in the ocean view neighborhood. Police say the suspect shawn moore was advancing on officers when he was shot on the front steps of his home. It shows more yelling at officers to get off the stairs and he was trying to go back inside at the time he was shoot. Moore has undergone two surgeries. They said they could have deescalated the situation and called for Crisis Intervention Team instead of opening fire. We are one day away from inauguration day. Happening today, one of two inmates who escaped from jail in november is headed back to court. He escape the night before thanksgiving. He and another inmate, campbell, broke out of the jail in a second floor window and lowered themselves to the ground. They were both captured a few days later he is due in court at 9 00 for a prehearing. Four people, including a firefighter, are recovering after that fire broke out at a town house in east san jose. It happened yesterday afternoon on florence avenue just off alum rock. A woman had to jump from a second story window to escape. Witnesses say that man was saved by a neighbor. The man and woman are both expected to be okay. A third person was treated for smoke inhalation. Terrifying moments for several students when their School Bus Collides with a semi truck. It looks like from inside the bus. This happened in florida. Students got knocked out of their seats. The driver of a semi truck went around another car stopped at a light and crashed into the middle of a school bus. Video shows the intensity of that collision. The drivers standpoint was thrown from her seat, into the seat next to her. Five students were on board. Luckily, everybody is okay. You may want to stock up on stamps right now. We have been tracking a little bit of lightning moving across spots like napa, vavaville. Still light rain moving in there.  the rain will be tapering off. We are seeing rain moving through the delta. So downpours in. We are seeing rain just to the south and east of livermore. This is quickly moving off to the east. Thats the kind of rain we will see moving through the day. We will have times of rain, times of sunshine. At any point we could see showers moving through. Much of that activity etting down later on this afternoon. And then the next round of heavy rain and widespread rain early tomorrow morning. The winds start to pick up. Really heavy downpours during our morning show tomorrow. We will start to see quite a bit of activity here on the radar. The second will still have lingering activity behind it. We may have my rain throughout the day friday, Early Saturday Morning before the next storm system moves in. We are looking at a total of an inch and a quarter to two inches of rain while most of the bay area will see two, two and a half inches of rain in all. Heres what to expect. Spotty rain today. As you drive over our local bridges when it is windy, you wont see it but you will see the rain continues to sprinkle. The california Highway Patrol is asking drivers to slow down, keep both hands wheel, give yourself a safe stopping distance. It is a concern for is semis and light trucks. Thats why we keep both hands on the wheel while were driving. We are safe out here this morning. We see a little bit offup particularly for folks paying in cash.
