Now, as we go through the rest of the forecast, well be keeping an eye on several more weather systems moving in, and heres a look at what to expect today as that moves to the east. Well see the weather system winding down tonight. Still some scattered showers in the forecast for tomorrow, and as we go to monday into tuesday, still looking at some rain in the forecast for the north bay, getting heavier with another storm system moving in on tuesday, and going to see another storm system that could bring in the potential of more flooding as we go into the forecast for the middle of next week. So of course, watching several weather systems in forecast today, expected to be the strongest in the next few days. Be careful on the roads out there. People need to slow down. I saw an accident in ten minutes it took me to get to work today. Spinouts definitely a possibility. Despite the fact theres not tons of traffic, but be careful. Yosemite is empty and the storm is to blame. The
Mariposa County
Sheriffs Office issued a mandatory evacuation notice because the merced river is expected to flood. The
National Park service has closed all in the valley and all nonessential workers had to leave the park. With the heavy rains up here taking place in the mountains, the
Parks Department and the yosemite
Parks Service has closed the park. As well as asked residents there, some of these are employees and some are park
Service Employees to leave the park as well right now with the heavy rains, and they contacted us and asked us to perhaps stage a shelter. Were currently staged with a shelter open. The last time the merced river breached its banks was 1996 and 1997 in a major storm. Big delays at the airport this weekend. Several delays in fact and cancellations so far. And with the increased rain, were likely to see more this afternoon. So far, sfo appears to be the hardest hit. 75 flights have been canceled since yesterday, and 254 additional were delayed. In some cases, for hours. The
Oakland Airport also has some major delays. Though not quite as significant. 20 to 40minute delays for some arrivals and departures. If you are flying today, check your flight status for delays. Well, along with rain comes the very slick roads, as we were talking about earlier. Youre looking live at our
Traffic Camera in richmond. And it is slick out there, not much to see, but all the more reason to slow down if youre out there by yourself because we have hurt lots of reports of solo car accidents, spinouts and rollovers. We want to give you a live look across the

Were in a microclimate weather alert and getting a look at some of the rainfall totals in the north bay. Many spots getting at least an inch of rain so far, just since midnight, and well continue to have more rain in the forecast. Seeing some of the heaviest rain over the north bay, but still pockets of heavy rain expected into the south bay as we go into this afternoon. Details on that in the microclimate forecast. Thank you very much. Well look forward to it. 7 27 right now. New developments in the ft. Lauderdale shooting rampage. Questions about why the man accused of carrying out the attack was not put on a watch list. Esteban santiagos brother said he was allowed to keep his gun even after santiago warned fbi agent about his own
Mental Health issues. The former

The crab fishermens strike began last friday when a wholesale company, pacific seafood, tried to lower the price it pays for crab from 3 a pound to 2. 75. Crabbers went on strike and in solidarity, crabbers all up and down
Northern California joined them. Yesterday, the

Youre taking a live look outside at the bay brideol heavy rain hammering the bay area this morning. Youre taking a live look outside at the bay bridge toll plaza. We want to give you a live look at the
Golden Gate Bridge, and lets take you over to oakland for a look at rain there as well. Coming down periodically this morning in sheets in some areas. Flash
Flood Warnings and watches all across the bay area. It isnt expected to stop anytime soon. Heres a look at the radar this morning. You can see the widespread impact this storm is having across the bay area. Right now, as vicky mentioned, flash
Flood Warnings rin effect. Team coverage for you this morning. Our crews are watching potential trouble spots, including flooding that could be caused by rising water at several rivers and creeks. Good morning. Im vicky nguyen. Im laura garciacannon. Kari hall is tracking the storm, along with storm ranger, our mobile
Doppler Radar. Good morning. We are tracking some of this heavy rain now starting to move into the
Santa Cruz Mountains and also you see the pockets of some bright reds and yellows moving into the peninsula. We have seen the heaviest rain moving through the north bay, and that is where we also have some
Flood Warnings in effect. Looking now at
San Francisco and our storm ranger, its parked on a mountain in san bruno, we see theres pockets of some very heavy rain with us as we go into the next several minutes. Were also keeping tabs on whats happening as far as our roadways. 101 near windsor, chp reporting theres flooding over the interstate, both northbound and southbound, and that there are some cars in water. So thats definitely a dangerous situation there. Something that we may see becoming a little more common as this rain continues to fall throughout the day. So far, still some steady rain in that area, but once again, pockets of heavy rain near petaluma and extended down 101, also to yountville and fairfield where you see heavy rain at this point, and for spots in the north bay getting a break near mill valley and
San Francisco seeing spotty showers as well. Vallejo picking up on heavy rain just to the north of you and into the next few minutes, expect the rain to get a little more intense. Well look at what else were seeing around the bay area, what you can expect in a few minutes. Thank you very much. Good look at the radar there. Lets take you north to the north bay where today in the bays pete joins us this morning. Pete is live in san anselmo. Its been raining where you are, and we imagine flood concerns are mounting right now. Thats right. Good morning to you. I can agree with kari saying theres been a break in the rain in the north bay. Right now, were getting a drizzle, but people are still preparing. We have seen it the past few days and this morning. A few dozen sandbags here protecting themselves if it were to flood. This building, they have a pump to take water out if theres an issue, and more importantly, they have wires that are tied up, electrical wires to get them out of the way, but another concern when i spoke to officials here in san anselmo are the trees in the area, that the tree could go down because of the storm, because the ground is saturated, but it all depends on the strength of the storm. If it does pick up, if it starts to flood in the area, a horn will go off to tell people to get to higher ground. As far as the flood concerns go, theyre going to look at the san anceselmo creek. At 7 feet right now, four feet below the critical level that would lead to flooding in the area. The conditions can change throughout the day, and ill keep you updated via social media if the conditions do change. Well look for that. Thank you. Its not just the north bay feeling the impact of the storm. Today in the bays
Chuck Coppola live along the
Guadalupe River as the water continues to rise there. Good morning, chuck. Good morning, lauren and vicky. Yes, there is a
Community Near here called the mill pond
Mobile Home Park, a community that has been here for many years and some of the people are waking up and coming down here. Theyre very concerned about the level of this river here, the
Guadalupe River. Im on the foxworthy bridge near old almaden road. You can see the
Guadalupe River down below me. Its moving along at a very brisk pace, but so far, its well within its banks and not threatening the condominiums to the west of here. We have also gone through willow glen, take a look there, and so far, homes are not threatened so far as we have been able to see. We also took pictures north of willow glen from the st. Johns street bridge. Thats near julian street. The river is high there, but its not threatening homes above it. I spoke earlier this morning with tammy blair. She came out to have a look at things. She and her neighbors have taken precautions. Theyre happy the river level is where it is, but theyre still very wary and told me about some of the precautions they have taken. We have a very good
Emergency Program we have had for 21 years now. And this is just one of those things. Its not too much we can do. We live in a
Mobile Home Park. So were high up, but we do have some immobiles which means they have garages. So they could sandbag, maybe. The
National Weather service says the
Guadalupe River will continue to until about 4 00 p. M. This afternoon. Flood stage is 17 feet. The prediction was it would crest at about 16 feet. Reporting live in san jose,
Chuck Coppola, today in the bay. Thanks so much, chuck. In the meantime, big mess on the roadways. Take a look at this, the overnight rain led to a rollcrash in daly city. Fortunately, everyone made it out all right. Because of so many accidents in the area, it was taking tow trucks a while to get there. California
Highway Patrol and the driver, look at that, they just pushed the car over onto its right side themselves. Amazing. Well, california has been in a drought for years, and so when you couple that with the heavy storms like the ones were seeing this weekend, trees are going to topple over. The whipping wind isnt helping either. That caused this massive eucalyptus tree to tumble onto a 280 onramp last night. No more problems this morning, though. That tree has been removed. More tree troubles in the south bay. This fell on
Stevens Canyon road just after midnight. Earlier in the night, another tree came down across montague expressway. More wind in the forecast, and saturated grounds, there could be more damage from trees in the coming hours. Santa cruz mountains bearing the brunt of the storm. The rain is really relentless. Now, you can hear it coming down. Its been a long night. People living in the mountains are not in the clear just yet. They could get as much as 12 inches of rain over the next few days. All that rain already creating major problems. In felton, a tree came crashing down on power lines knocking out power to about 200 homes. In scots valley, some roads are eroding into the creeks below, and on highway 17, spinouts and crashes. With more rain ahead, local
Hardware Stores are seeing a rush of people trying to get ready. Just preparinpreparing, getts for my lanterns and fuel and a head lamp and things like that. She will be ready. Were watching the rain as it comes down in
San Lorenzo River. Thats in bolder creek, water levels there also rising rapidly. 7 39. As the weather proved deadly in the east bay. A tree came crashing down on a golf course saturday morning, landing on a woman, killing her. First responders say the wind blew the tree over just as the woman was walking underneath it. Unfortunately, its kind of everything lines up. Being out in the weather, being by a tree that decides to come down at that moment. Its pretty unpredictable. So unfortunately, just lined up and in the wrong place at the wrong time. Emergency
Officials Say the winds and saturated ground makes it more likely that trees will come loose and fall in the days ahead. And dangerous conditions along the coast, too. The high winds whipping through the surf right now. Safety concerns forced city leaders to close the pier for the weekend. Forecasters say wind gusts are expected to reach 50
Miles Per Hour this weekend on the coast and in the hills. A high wind advisory is in effect for the hills this morning in pacifica. Our coverage of the storm just

Life doesnt always stick to a plan, but with our investment expertise well help you handle whats next. Financial guidance while youre mastering life. From chase. So you can. Were in a microclimate weather alert as woe continue to track heavy rain moving through the bay area. Heres a live look outside right now at emeryville, and the roads are very wet. If you have to head out, just be careful. We had reports of some standing water on the roadways, and also some flooding in some spots. So dealing with that and to help us out, we have our storm ranger. Lets get a look at the video. Its a time lapse of the storm ranger seeing the rainfall. Enj noors out there working, making sure that it continues to scan. We can put this anywhere. Right now, rr on top of san bruno mountain. We can park it anywhere in the bay area to give us the best view, and we are putting it there to give us the best view of both the north and south bay as well as the east bay, covering the whole bay area with a scan of the radar to give us a very hd view of what we are seeing coming out of those clouds. Also, detected, some lightning earlier this morning as it moves just south of
San Francisco over toward the bay, but we havent seen much more lightning since then. But that definitely is a possibility. Now as we go back to what were seeing outside in san jose, some wet streets and the rain pouring there. Cameras shaking around as the winds kind of shaking up the camera. But dealing with strong winds and rain and the flooding concern will continue as we go through today. A lot of green here on the map, not seeing as much yellow, but that is approaching the san jose area. So with our storm ranger there once again, giving us a view of the radar that no other station around the bay area has, because it detects the rain down to the minute. Still steady rain between walnut park and sebastopol, where heavier rain has been pouring, and its pretty widespread, even down to fairfax, where we have a concern of some flooding and san rafael, and for tiburon, you have light rain, but heavier rain will be there in the next few minutes. Vallejo taking a much needed break from the showers. But there is heavy rain that will me moving in. Fa fairfield, not as much in the way of heavy rain, but scattered sprinkles and rain moving in in the next few minutes. Not raining heavily right now in the delta and also over to richmond. Light mist coming down, creating some low visibility in san fran, covering pretty much the whole city with light rain. Then just to the east of you, youre seeing the rain getting heavier, moving toward oakland. And parts of the pinls not seeing as much rain, getting breaks, around campbell, willow glen, for the time in the past few hours, youre getting heavy rain moving back in, coming off the
Santa Cruz Mountains where the rainfall at times close to an inch per hour, so still seeing some pockets of heavy rain over toward fremont, we see some light rain, and then for parts of the trivalley, some light rain coming down. We will continue to keep an eye on this as we will still see a lot of moisture moving in with this
Atmospheric River, still some pockets of heavy rain possible throughout the day. Multiple watch warnings, adviso advisories, in effect. A high wind warning in effect for all of those areas shaded in pink that includes the coastal areas and hills, that will be in effect until 3 00 as winds could reach 60
Miles Per Hour. All of us have a chance of reaching winds at least gusting to about 50
Miles Per Hour today. And we have a pretty widespread
Flash Flood Watch in effect as we could see up to ten inches of rain in the
Santa Cruz Mountains. We also have a
Flood Warning in effect for pretty much all of marin, napa, and sonoma counties. Were watching those areas creeks and rises as they continue to rise above flood stage. Also, the
Guadalupe River in santa clara will be under a
Flood Warning unlate tonight, and we could see the water levels cresting above flood stage. To the sierra, keeping an eye on that where there is lightning around bear valley. You can tell by the lightning icons there. Unfortunately, this is not all coming down as snow. The temperatures have been too warm for this to fall as snow, especially for some of the areas, and as we take a look at our camera here, at heavenly lake tahoe, you know thats a high elevation spot, and theres water droplets on the camera lens, with a lot of snow coming down. The fortunate thing is well see it changing back over to snow as the system wraps up and the potential over the next three days to measure snow in the sierra in feet. Ye could see up to 75 inches of snow at king veil, which is great news. As far as wind, here in the bay area, winds picking up to 20 to 30
Miles Per Hour. These are the gust speeds. We have had within the past hour or so. We will still see some high winds throughout the day and into early afternoon is when we expect the strongest winds and then it starts to taper off later on with the winds still rushing in from the south at about 20 to 25
Miles Per Hour. So the high wind warning, the
Flood Warnings, all in effect through at least early afternoon. And well have a lot of updates as we go through the day to make sure you know whats going on where you live. Now we heard the wind gusting all over our house on the peninsula, so its all over the place, and seeing trees coming down everywhere. Be prepared for the possibility of power outages. Good to be prepared. Know where the cflashlights are. We want to show you breaking news now. Dramatic new video overnight of flooding and rescue coming in right now. Take a look. This is happening near old redwood highway in petaluma. This was taken about an hour ago. That couple was wading through floodwaters. They thought they could get out themselves and declined hem from firefighters. Were learning firefighters were just called back out to that location to help that couple. That rescue is in progress right now. You can see cars, trucks, under water in that
Mobile Home Park. If you have to leave your home today, proceed with caution. Bay area hoedways are very slick. We had reports of many trees coming down in areas very unexpectedly.
