One person is in custody after an overnight stabbing in San Francisco. It happened they say at the edge of the castro district. Today in the bays pete suratos is there live at the scene to bring us up to speed on what happened. Good morning, pete. Reporter good morning, kira and sam. Actually just moments ago i know in the last half hour we said investigators were on the scene. It looks like they just wrapped up their investigation. They told me off camera that it looks like were talking about two roommates that got into this altercation inside a home on the henry block. Police arrived around 2 30 after reports of a stabbing incident in the area involving these two male roommates. Roughly about a half hour later, they say they found the suspect walking in the area about a block away where he was arrested. They say he was actually holding the knife at the time. Now, as far as injuries go, they say the victim and suspect were taken to a hospital. At this time theyre calling those injuries nonlifethreatening. Were live in San Francisco, pete suratos for today in the bay. New this morning, video of an apparent crash at the ford dealership in koma. It appears a car crashed into a pole and nokt it over hitting several cars. The impact so strong, the cars air bags were deployed. Police are scene giving that man a breathalyzer test. He was later treated by paramedics, cuffed and taken to a police car. The drivers passenger also was treated at the scene. Happening today, the two men facing charges for killing a father of four inside a hayward target on Christmas Eve as he was shopping for lastminute presents for his family will be back in court. Today in the bays tom jensen is live outside that target store where the stabbing happened on Christmas Eve. Tom, it already was an emotional day in court yesterday. Tell us about it. Reporter it was, kira. The widow of the victim, tyrone griffin, had to be removed from the courtroom after she started yelling at the two suspects who allegedly stabbed her husband inside the toy section of this target store in hayward and their 4yearold son was watching. Now the suspects family claims it was griffin who attacked them first and they were protecting themselves. Griffin was shopping for gifts on Christmas Eve when he asked the two men, allegedly, to stop playing inappropriate music in the toy aisle. Thats when Police Say One of the men repeatedly stabbed griffin. Even more tragic, the 4yearold son witnessed his dads murder. He died later Christmas Eve at a nearby hospital. Police arrested jesse and franky archuleta. After court we talked to one of their girlfriends who say they acted in selfdefense. Out of nowhere, franky got hit in the head with a bottle and he fell to the ground and he just blacked out. The archuletas could not afford an attorney. Theyll be back in court today, being appointed a public defender. The family says they want to see the surveillance tape. They say it will show that griffin attacked them first. The world is mourning the tragic loss of Debbie Reynolds who died one day after her daughter Carrie Fisher passed away. The 784yearold was a star on the screen and on stage for almost seven decades. Video from tmz shows an ambulance leaving reynolds sons home yesterday. She was there discussing funeral arrangements from her daughter when she suffered a medical emergency herself. We spoke to fans last night, some of them lucky enough to have met reynolds. She was playing at the fifth avenue. She could come in every morning for breakfast. Very proud of Carrie Fisher. In fact, she gave me an autograph and she autographed it, Debbie Reynolds, Carrie Fishers mom. Debbie was talking to the whole crowd and making us all laugh. They say she partners with catami in a marijuana business. Investigate ergs say this man, wesley brown of berkeley, helped plot the murder. Officers say when they arrested upshaw last week, they found a sophisticated illegal pot growing operation inside her home. Now to another bay area Public Transit agency offering free rides on new years eve so people dont have to worry about driving after all those celebrations. Free Service Beginning at 8 00 saturday night and last through 5 00 sunday morning. Caltrain also is offering free rides and running Additional Trains on new years eve. We now know why someone walked off with a circumstancefoot tall, 100pound menorah at a San Francisco park. Police say they think the thieves wanted it for the brass. A new menorah from the east coast is in its place, flown in, standing in Washington Square park. A wellknown menorah maker in massachusetts heard about the crime. He said he wanted to help out, so he rushed to create a new one. The rabbi said this was truly a holiday blessing. But the people who live there came back to find the burglars still inside. They pulled out a gun but then ran from the house. According to sfpd theyre saying this happened inside a home in the area that was an altercation that led to this stabbing incident. There were two roommates. They dont know what the motive is at this time. But well show you video. Around 2 30 a. M. , youll see several squad cars on the scene. Roughly about half an hour later police say the suspect was found walking in the area about a block away on the nowey side. At the time he was arrested he was Still Holding the knife. Police tell us gunfire broke out late last night during a Home Invasion on peach court near East San Antonio street and mclaughlin avenue. Once the people got inside the home, Police Say Two men exchanged words with the People Living there. Shortly afterward, shots were fired. Both of the victims are expected to survive. Also new this morning, police are looking through Surveillance Video trying to figure out who opened fire outside an east bay ho tell. This happened emeryville where police say they heard gunshots about 11 00. They were told by callers to respond to this Hyatt Place Hotel on bay street. When police arrived, they didnt find any suspects or victims, but what they did find were shell casings and shattered glass. Witnesses say two people in separate cars were shooting at each other and took off in different directions. Chilling video in a Domestic Violence case. Reporter this week marks 20 years since the death of Jonbenet Ramsay, a case that remains unsolved. The anniversary prompted a number of tv special that have aired over the last few months. One of those shows is the subject of a multimillion dollar lawsuit filed by john bennys brother burke. Hes suing cbs regarding the show the case of Jonbenet Ramsay. They theorize burke may have struck his sister with a flashlight. He says that accusation is based on lives and half truths and the Program Ruined his reputation. Hes now seeking 750 million in damages. Cbs has not returned our call seeking kmpt. Earlier this year they told us they stand by the broadcast and would do so in court. After two decades, this case continues to draw headlines and remains unsolved.
