A tip led them to Jameson Creek 25 miles southwest of where myrick was last seen working at gp sports in san jose. The family made the announcement at a vigil last night and a short time later, San Jose Police confirmed it. Through friends and family, they hope for the best and are finally getting some closure. All the love that has been shown in the last few days for him as his father has been overwhelming. I did not realize how many people my son had touched. There is still no word on when a funeral will be held. The man accused of killing myrick, his coworker, steve libo, remains in jail an Investigation Underway following a deadly plane crash in Sonoma County after a single engine plane came spiraling down at about 7 00 last night right into someones backyard. That crash happened near the end of wood ranch road less than two miles south of the Sonoma County airport. It was headed toward the airport and almost done with the flight as it was coming in from palm springs to santa rosa. Two people died in the crash. A witness said he didnt notice anything unusual around the time the plane fell out of the sky. No fire but there was a little bit of smoke coming off of the rear of the airplane or what was left of it anyway sfwhch. There were two people on board the plane. We dont have them identified. A male and female appeared to be in their mid60s. We dont know much about them. Nor do they know much about how this happened. Weather conditions were reportedly soggy when the plane went down. No word specifically on what caused the crash. New this morning, a rough night for one walnut creek homeowner. Police say he woke up to what he believed was an earthquake. Instead, it was a missieve oak tree falling down from a nearby park into his house. It happened early this morning on lancaster near interstate 680, not far from newell. Everyone inside that home escaped injury. Police did not give an estimate on the damage to that home. A luxury home still in the process of being reduced to rubble as nervous neighbors worry about their own home sliding down a hillside. The home is located in the cherwood forest neighborhood near mount davison. City inspectors ordered an emergency demolition after someone noticed a huge crack in the Homes Foundation and crumbling pavement. The home sold for 2 million and the new owners have not even moved in yet. Their minor remodeling plan has turned into a total rebuild. It is for everyones safety. God forbid, that the house comes down the hill in somebodys bedroom. The home apparently slid more than a foot in just a week. Now, five neighbors are being ordered to have soil outside their homes inspected before the next round of rain rolls through. A busy weekend of super bowl festivities that are about to get under way. The fbi said he had a loaded 9 millimeter semiautomatic handgun in that pocket. The occupation is not over yet, authorities say. We believe there are four people that still occupy the refuge at this time. Since the establishment of the checkpoint, nine people have left the refuge. We have seen some light rain, very hit or mitt and most of it has been across parts of the north bay, San Francisco and now starting to work into the east bay. So thats what we can expect as we go into this afternoon. We will have more of this rain through the morning commute and some breezy wind that starts to make its way into san jose but not expecting any really heavy rain. Most of that stays farther to the north and it does taper off as we go into tomorrow morning and a little bit of some clouds hanging around all throughout the day. After that round of rain moves through, we will be looking towards sunday to see what happens. A lot of the heaviest rain stays towards the south. This weekend will not, by any means, be a washout.
