let's check that forecast. kari hall. >> good tuesday morning. patchy, dense fog to worry about as you head out the door. that may slow down the commute and create low visibility and also some mist, just enough turning on the windshield wipers. as we take a live look at that golden gate bridge camera in san francisco, you should barely see there also in the peninsula, but after all that clears out we'll get some sunshine and we're looking at highs today in the south bay up to 66 degrees. 60 today in the tri-valley and also in the north bay. we have a few more days of dry weather before the next storm system moves in. i'll detail that coming up in the mike omicroclimate forecast. the fog has made it from your shot and san francisco and the peninsula. visiting parts of dublin. we're looking at 580 where traffic moves well. thicker fog right over here. we have it registered on our road weather index. right now we don't see any problems and a smooth drive towards the bay bridge toll plaza and the fog develop along the coast in daly city for sure and pacifica. major concerns in pacifica, mike. thank you very much. you see parts of the cliff that collapsed there. there are concerns about the future of pacifica. this bird's eye view giving you an idea of how fragile living there right now is. pieces of the bluff fall to the beach below. with more severe weather expected over the next few months, the city decided it is not taking any chances. the city council declared a local emergency. that decision comes just a few hours comes after city leaders put yellow tags on 20 apartments. engineers believe the bluff beneath that street is crumbling and quickly and people that live there are being ordered to move out and an order that one building oowner says is completely out of line. >> i'll be homeless in three days and that's unacceptable and to throw all the residents and tenants out in a couple of hours is really unfair. it's very hard on them and i'm going to be filing an appeal on this decision. >> pacifica's police chief says forcing the yellow tag order is a matter of public safety. he says people can move things out, but they cannot spend the night there. the red cross right now is offering its assistance. now to this developing story. a los altos man says he's been framed. in a jailhouse interview the man arrested for the death of his co-worker says he's innocent and he's being set up. the body of kyle myrick has still not been found but they believe his remains may have been dump under to the ocean. investigators release the pictures of a white pickup truck they say is conducted to the suspect. steve hlebo was arrested at his home early saturday morning. but he believes he is being framed by his co-workers who put drugs in his coffee. >> i think they were putting it in intentionally so they could discredit me and pin a murder on me essentially. >> investigators say myrick only worked for together for koppel of days. police believe the murder happened in a burned out building next to the motorcycle shop. they're now reaching out to anyone who may have seen hlebo driving between 6:00 p.m. friday or early saturday morning. all new this morning for the second time in just a week, a hoverboard caught fire damaging a bay area home. the latest fire happened last night at a house in petaluma. this is a picture of the hoverboard after it exploded and caught fire while it was charging, fitting a pattern. the homeowner was able to put that fire out, but not before significant damage to the home. last week a hoverboard was blamed for a fire that destroyed a family's house in santa rosa and killed their two dogs. the u.s. consumer product safety commission now says this is the 40th hoverboard related fire in the country and marks the eighth in california. super bowl 50 beginning to mean super gridlock for drivers trying to get through san francisco and the situation is only about to get worse. parts of the embarcadero and neighboring streets officially shut down over the weekend. today streets surrounding the mosconi center also expecting to shut down. if you can take the ferry into the city, that's probably the easiest way to get into this part of town. be patient if you're in the area. >> it's horrible. it's absolutely horrible. >> what are you trying to get to? >> the water park. >> it's just a couple blocks from here. how long do you think it it will take you? >> probably 25 minutes. >> turns out that guy can see into the future. during rush hour did take about that rough lly 30 minutes to go three blocks. go to nbcbayarea.com and find a list of alternative routes. >> hard to see how the weather will cooperate. >> that could be another snag. >> did you say snap. >> snap or snag, either one. let's check in with kari. >> for today it is looking all good after this fog rolls out of the bay area. now temperatures are cool. check out the east bay now. it's 41 degrees and 49 degrees in the south bay. as we get a closer look there, temperatures in the mid-40s heading out the door. definitely a heavier jacket needed as we get the day started. 60 degrees in redwood city and mission district up to 62 degrees and 60s else where feeling very nice. we'll talk more about that and the next chance of rain. that's coming up in a few minutes. but let's check out on the golden gate bridge now with mike. >> well, trust me it's there and we do have a report, as well, on the north side. this is an additional problem even though traffic is very light. a stalled vehicle reported around the north tower. we can't make out the south tower. the north one out there in the fog and lower visibility is an issue and slow and watch that as you're heading towards the north bay and only two lanes open right now. we'll get a look at another shot. foster city side and visibility better here and we're watching towards fremont and further inland, no problems. none of these shots have any slowing. coming up the effect of the winter storm that ravaged parts of the country. some remarkable time lapse video you need to see. now to this developing story: =topvo= up and down much ofthe t =topvo= up-and-down much of the east coast, people still weekend winterer a massive developing story up and down much of the east coast people still stranded feeling skeletal after a massive weekend winter storm blasted right on through. we're looking at a time lapse from a backyard in west virginia where that storm dumped at least 40 inches of snow on the area. so far this historic blizzard is being blamed for at least 42 deaths. though the snow has stopped the cleanup far from over. right now streets across the country still impassable and in the nation's capital, the government was forced to close yesterday along with schools and businesses. meantime it, some of the nation's busiest airports are being brought to a standstill by the snow. >> so these guys are pushing and hauling snow from sun up to sun down. >> the challenge so far for airlines is getting all the planes and crews in position. assembling a flight schedule and getting passengers where they need to go. locally seven flights at sfo are canceled this morning. it is 4:41. new details this morning about the search for three escaped southern california inmates. police are stepping up the manhunt by asking for the public's help. the manhunt began on friday when these three inmates were discovered missing from the jail in santa ana. authorities say the three men likely cut through steel bars and plumbing ducts before climbing to the roof and repelling down several stories using a rope. a $50,000 reward is now being offered to anyone who has info to lead to their capture. they don't know how the inmates got the tools to cut through all that metal. coming up next, super bowl, super bay area stars. who is playing a starring role in the golden anniversary of the football classic? "wall street journal" reports it will offer $5 off of their wireless bill but there is a catch. if you opt in, you'll have to put up with more ads on the screen when you unlock your smartphone. but into thursday night and into friday, we'll start to see this rain moving into the north bay and it will be pretty much covering most of the bay area by friday afternoon into saturday. it looks like we will see that rain off and on and then on sunday it will be wrapping up. the rain outlook for the next seven days brings some pretty significant rainfall totals anywhere from 1.5 to 2.5 inches for most of us. some spots that get a little bit less especially for the south bay. anywhere from 0.5 and a good soaking is on the way after a few days of dry weather. let's check in now with mike to see how the roads are moving. >> kari, the roads are moving really well right now. we're watching for the effects of fog. over here in oakland, we don't see much fog and little glow from the lights and we don't see much traffic although you always have traffic on the nimitz. watching coastal fog develop and right now palo alto and inland not a problem right now as far as that volume of traffic and show you the map. the other side of the bay. showed you the nimitz and bay shore and no wind advisories this morning. the only slowing we see just starting west 580 out of the altamo altamont. back to you. san francisco supervisors will vote on a measure that has some police department supporters fuming. supervisor david campos is introducing a resolution to honor mario woods. a man shot and killed by police last month in the bay view district. police say that woods was a stabbing suspect who refused to drop his knife. campos suggest that woods' birthday would honor him and be a symbol of police reform. well, the police officer association, for one, not so fond of this idea. part of their statement reads, "supervisors are seeking a day of remembrance for a convicted felon. those who have died a violent death in the line of duty serving this city have never received such acknowledgment." at the same time, san francisco's police department is already launching an image overhaul in the wake of recent racially charged incidents. yesterday the department announced a new campaign. officers will now take a pledge to serve without prejudice and to confront intolerance among fellow officer os. reform. well, the police officer association, for one, not so fond of this idea. part of their statement reads, "supervisors are seeking a day of remembrance for a convicted felon. those who have died a violent death in the line of duty serving this city have never received such acknowledgment." at the same time, san francisco's police department is already launching an image overhaul in the wake of recent racially charged incidents. yesterday the department announced a new campaign. officers will now take a pledge to serve without prejudice and to confront intolerance among fellow officer os.
