Wick kileaks releasing secr for hacking into your phone, your tv and people wondering now do the bad guys have access to this information . Well start with politics. Formal debate over the new Health Care Bill getting underway this morning and it is facing strong opposition not only democrats but a number of republicans as well. Well start with Hallie Jackson at the white house. Good morning. Reporter good morning. The president will meet with conserve tiff leaders to talk about health care with the white house emphasizing this is really the start of a process to figure out whats in and whats out of that new bill. On capitol hill lawmakers will start making changes but for the gop its far from a united front. This morning republican rebellion with the white house working to avoid what might be a mutiny brewing against a new bill to repeal and replace obamacare. Were going to have something thats going to be much more understood and much more popular than people can even imagine. Reporter so far, its not popular with some in his own party. Some conservatives concerned about different parts of the plan. Theres those on the far right including outside groups worried about it costing too much and not going far enough. This is instead a step in the wrong direction. Obviously we have some serious concerns. We are united on repeal, but we are divided on replacement. Reporter more moderate republicans are focusing on saving Medicaid Expansion and for others, saving planned parenthood funding might end up a Sticking Point. The administration reassuring everyone this is still a work in progress, a starting point as Vice President pence explained to nbc. I think were very early in the legislative process. Reporter while the white house wants to focus on health care its still facing fallout from President Trumps explosive tweet accusing president obama of ordering the wiretapping of trump tower. Have you seen evidence of that . No, i havent. I have not seen that evidence. Reporter the white house still providing no proof of his claim, but press Secretary Sean Spicer pointing to the need for a congressional investigation. Why would the president Want Congress to investigate for information he already has . I think theres a separation of powers aspect here as i mentioned to jonathan. You talked about resources and time. Why waste that . Its not a question of waste it. Its a question of appropriateness. Nounes defending the president. I think a lot of the things that he says you guys sometimes take literally. Reporter congressman nunes also announcing the first public hearing of his house intelligence committee. Former intelligence officials under president obama have been invited to testify on march 20th and so has former acting attorney general sally yates who if you remember was fired by President Trump not long after he took office. All right. Thanks, hallie. If the new Health Care Plan is enacted how would it affect your costs . Our chief Business Correspondent has been looking at the numbers for us and focusing on three groups that could see big changes. Good morning. Good to see you. Lets start as we see here with the sick. Lets talk this first scenario. A 45yearold woman bho hwho ha diabetes. She will have guaranteed coverage. You cannot lose your coverage if youve already got it. Her premiums will stay put. Under obamacare the same thing is matched here. Your premiums cant go up for a preexisting condition but this is how Insurance Companies get around expenses. An increase in the amount that youre going to spend on your health care. For people already sick costs likely to go up. Were looking at the poor medicaid. A lot of questions around that. 55yearold in some financial distress perhaps relying on medicaid. Under obamacare this person would have had subsidies to pay. At this point they can still stay on medicaid. They may be eligible for tax credits however, on january 1st, 2020, the states that have made cade the grants are going to change. Theyll be stuck at 2016 levels so the states may slash the benefits that you get if youre on medicaid. For those who are poor but not on medicaid, if you let your coverage lapse because you dont have the money to pay for it, when you go back to get it youll pay a 30 penalty on top of your premium. This is to encourage people to keep on buying insurance even when they think they dont need it. And thats a Sticking Point for some republicans senators. Thats right. Older americans, perhaps on a budget. Right. So this is before you get into medicare. Lets say youre 60 years old. The credit in exchange for the subsidies under obamacare, the maximum credit youre going to get if youre 60 years old is 4,000. You cannot get a proper policy for 4,000. You might be able to get a catastrophic policy which means if something very bad happens youll be covered. These premiums are likely to go up and as i said, the only coverage youre going to get is the basic coverage that if the worse thing happens and if youre older and you want insurance to pay for your normal ongoing medical care youll be out of pocket by a lot of money. Young adults up to 26, people with preexisting conditions still protected. They get to stay on their parents and a lot of this may change. Thank you. And now to the story we talked about at the top, that explosive new document dumped from wikileaks and its haet hitting close to home. This claims to reveal how the cia hacks phones, televisions and other devices not in the u. S. , but all over the world. Peter alexander has the latest. Peter, good morning. After the companys Privacy Policy cautioned users from sharing personal information around its tv sets the Company Issued a clarification saying the sets do not monitor conversations. But they do collect voice commands when a user pushes a button to make a search request. Many of the nations Top Tech Companies including google and microsoft say theyre investigating the documents. The spying tools Intelligence Experts say would have been used ex plusively for Foreign Surveillance but now could be used by cyber criminals to target americans. When you see something that is billed as internet connected, a car, a home, a light switch, whatever, just remember that also potentially means hacker connected. This is the Swiss Army Knife of hacker tools so anyone can now take a tool, decide what to attack and they can turn anybodys Electronic Devices into surveillance devices. Wikileaks isnt revealing its source but it said the documents had been circulated among former u. S. Government contractors and hackers claiming one of them passed the documents to wikileaks. It also puts President Trump in an unusual position. After attacking the Intelligence Community and during the campaign praising wikileaks. Wikileaks, i love wikileaks. The white house has declined to comment. Late tuesday apple said it had already addressed many of the issues described in the documents. It posted a statement that read in part, while our initial analysis indicates that many of the issues leaked today were already patched in the latest operating system, we will continue to work rapidly to address any identified vulnerabilities. What theyre doing right now is urging people to make sure that you download the latest operating system to make sure you have the most updated security updates available. Peter alexander, thank you.
