I think there are a couple of things. Number one, the Large Population that has not been well integrated into mainstream society. They live in insular communities. Rocky is a come from behind hero just like the movie. This morning, it may put a smile on your face and maybe a tear in your eye. Rocky. U. S. Army combat veteran. To see him today, you would be hard pressed to know a roadside bomb left him lame. You may remember this viral photo. Rocky sitting on the bed with his partner, Army Specialist andrew brown. The two initially recovering together at the u. S. Military hospital in germany. Yes, thats a purple heart on rockys collar. Like any other member of the u. S. Military, rehabilitating rockys back left leg. His femur shattered in pieces. Became a mission. Painful injury. Had a lot of skin missing. Burn injury from the blast itself. Reporter seven weeks into his recovery and progress. Hes a great temperament. That is easy with the exercises and having him here. Reporter three and a half months from the bomb exploded, rocky is quick, alert, strong. Finally a day of celebration. Leaving behind those who had taken rocky so far. A veteran now homeward bound. Back on u. S. Soil at walter reed hospital, a reunion. That moment when a long deployed soldier finally sees family again. He saw me. He was like, oh, theres my dad. Reporter specialist andrew brown. Himself still going through physical therapy. And whether rocky returns to work or not, one thing is for certain, he will return to specialist browns care. The two bonded in service, bonded for life. Feels good to see him pretty much back to normal for the most part. Reporter rocky is still active duty. So later this weekend, he will report for duty in ft. Hood in texas. The brass there will decide if he will be returned to active duty or if rocky retires. Specialist brown says if rocky retires, he is family and will always have a home. Craig. I can believe it.
