taser. >> i shot him. i'm sorry. >> we'll hear from the victim's distraught family. and an eye for danger. nik wallenda reveals his next death defying stunt, walking at the top of this huge ferris wheel in florida. but wait there's more. the big news he saved when he joins us live today, april 14th, 2015. >> announcer: from nbc news, this is "today" with matt lauer and savannah guthrie live from studio 1a in rockefeller plaza. and good morning. welcome to "today" on a tuesday morning. savannah's got the morning off. i'm here with hoda kotb. nik wallenda takes a year off my life watching these stunts. >> even seeing the clip was making me nauseous. but he's going to do something he's never done before. >> and he's got an aspect he's announcing here this morning. we'll talk to n.ik in a little while. let's get to this other story. this is our top story. an unusual incident on an alaska airlines flight. the crew forced to make an emergency landing after an airport worker fell asleep inside the cargo hold. nbc's joe fryer has the latest. in seattle. joe, good morning. >> reporter: good morning, matt. the worker was not hurt. the airline says the flight was in the air for about 14 minutes and that part of the cargo hold was temperature controlled and pressurized but this created some scary moments. this is what passengers heard in the air shortly after their alaska airlines flight left seattle bound for l.a.x. new video from inside the plane reveals the banging and knocking coming from below. >> help, help, help, you know. very distinct. >> at first i thought it was a child maybe kicking the back of the seat. >> reporter: turns out it was someone stuck in the cargo hold below first class. >> at some point the marshal kind of made himself known. he started banging back and he yelled really loud and said, we're getting ready to land. hold on to something. >> the aviation employee walked off the aircraft and told first responders that he was taking a nap in the c aircraft. >> reporter: that employee was part of a four-person team loading baggage onto the plane. >> our medics checked him out. no injuries, no situation from medical standpoint. he was fine. >> reporter: how did it happen? alaska airlines said coworkers did notice the emp missing. they called for him in the cargo hold and tried his cell with no answer so they thought he had finished his 9 1/2 hour shift and gone home. there was a similar incident in 2009. authorities say an employee fell asleep in the baggage compartment of a jetblue flight from new york to boston. >> the airlines have by and large developed procedures to protect against that. >> reporter: the alaska airlines flight did eventually take off for l.a. again with 170 passengers, seats. as a precaution, the employee was taken to the hospital where he was treated and released. alaska airlines said he did pass a drug and alcohol test. so far no comment from the aviation. hoda and matt. >> joe, thank you very much. the airline expert there said the airlines have develo procedures to pr it. they might want to look at those procedures a bit. >> i would say definitely. definitely. meantime, things are getting interesting in the race. we have both parties covered from hillary clinton's road trip to the young gun looking to shake things up on the republican side, senator marco rubio. we're going coming up. first, andrea mitchell is at the first official sto campaign. >> good morning. andrea. >> reporter: hillary clinton is on a mystery t drive from new york. waking up here this morning, her first event here. what's behind this grand strategy? >> all right. kelly o'donnell, thank much. senator marco rubio joins us now. good morning to you. welcome to the race. >> good morning, matt. thank you. >> good to have you here. let's talk. you talked over the last 24 hours about why you've decided to run for president. let me switch it up a litt and let me ask you when you decided. because up until two years ago, you were saying you hadn't even given thought to running for president. so when did you decide? what was the moment that made you say, i'm in? >> well, you know, it is a process. it begins personally with my own life and family. i still believe my most important job is that of a father followed by t husband. i wanted to make sure that would be something they would be supportive of in their lives. of course, my children are very young so i need to keep an on that. once i felt comfortable our family was prepared for that sort of race, then i looked at the outlines of it, why would i run. same reasons i ran for the senate. i believe this country is at a key moment generationally. needs to make a choice about what kind of country it wants to be in the 21st century. right now i see that american dream that my parents lived and that's defined our country slipping away for millions of people watching this program who are living paycheck to one bad break away disaster. and when i knew i could make a difference -- see, senators can help lead us into the 21st century, but only presidents can lead us into the 21st century and th do. >> but when did that decision become final? when did you say i'm in? >> i think three or fo ago. right before easter as a family we prayed and talked about it more intently and made the decision this is the time to go forward especially as the issues continue to happen around the world but also here at home. >> your fellow republicans have been very critical of presiden obama over the last six years on dome policy. i know you've heard the chorus. some in your party said we should have never electe first term senator. here you are six years later, a first term senator. do you expect them to change their tune? >> well, there's a difference between barack obama and i think our histories are much different. i served in local government. i served a state governmen nine years. in the third largest state i the country. i was the speaker of the florida house. all that before i got to washington four and a half ago. by the time i swear in as president in 2017 i will have turned a full-term in the u.s. senate, including the foreign relati intelligence committee. there are differences in background between where i am today and where then-senator obama was when he was elected. >> let me ask about jeb bush. a guy you know very well. some called him your political mentor. an article in "the new york times" say now there may be a rift between you and governor bush because you have broken an unwritten rule that if he were to run for president, would you not run in that same cycle. that in some ways you would wa your turn. i know you spent time with governor bush recent what's the relationship like today? >> jeb bush is my friend and i think he would tell you exact same thing. i have respect for him. i have admiration for him. he'll be a very st candidate. i just honestly believe that at this moment in our history, we need to move in a new direction as a country. obviously governor bush is going to be a strong candidate. with his own set of ideas. i think people w those ideas and be impressed. ultimately i feel at this moment i'm best positioned to help lead this country into the 21st century. we'll remain friends throughout this process. i think he would tell you the exact same thing. >> and if you move forward, senator, and find you don't have what it takes in terms of support to gain the nomination, would you automatically throw your support behind governor bush? >> well, i mean, it's too early to make decisions like that for him, for me, for anyone. that's a question no oneld answer at this process. primarily because none of us believe that moment will c for us. i'm quite confident i will be the nominee of the republican party, but we have to earn it. there's a interviews to do bet then, but i'm confid >> we hope so. let me end on this. if you are to be elected president of this country in 2016, you'll break a barrier. you'll become the first hispanic president in u.s. history. what would it mean for you personally? what would it mean for the hispanic community? >> i think it just -- i hope it would be an affirmation that this continues to be a nation of equality of opportunity. it doesn't matter how your last name is pronounced or where your parents came from or where you started out in life, if you work hard and you persevere, in this country, you can go as far as your t take you. that's what makes us special, every country of rich people. what makes thi anyone from anywhere anything. i hope any candi and my presidency guaran that. >> senator rubio, welcome to the race and thanks for your time this morning. >> thank you. thank you, matt. >> a lot o appealing. >> yeah. >> no question. he's got youth going for him and some obviously big ideas. >> he's got a likability fac for sure. >> i want to mention speaking of the gop, we're going to be traveling to n tomorrow. we'll catch up with another potential candidate new jersey governor chris christie. we'll have that ex interview tomorrow "nightly news" on "today." let's get back to the democratic race and the first official stops of hillary clinton's campaign. things are getting on a decidedly low keynote for her. andrea mitchell is joining us again. good morning, andrea. >> reporter: good morning again. it's been although key, it's been a mystery tour, very few sightings along the way. in what is a carefully orchestrated strategy to connect do what she calls everyday americans. hillary clinton arrived in iowa after a low key two-day road trip from new york. more than a thousand m very few public sightings. posing for pictures at a gas station in pennsylvania. even spotted on a security camera ord with guacamole at outside toledo. all part of hillary's new approach to campaigning. but is iowa ready for her? she finished third in the 2008 caucuses. she didn't return until last summer. >> i'm back! >> reporter: her low key strategy now meeting small groups of voters trying to recapture barack obama's winning coalition. women, latinos, african-americans, and millennials with a populist message. >> the deck is still stacked in favor of those at the top. >> reporter: clinton is now echoing critics on her left like senator elizabeth warren popular with many iowa democrats. what about people elizabeth warren, people who a not running progressive views on economic issues? >> elizabeth warren would be m choice. however, i think the message we're getting is she's not going to run this time. >> reporter: and clinton is counting heavily on her appeal to women. did you support her last time? >> yes, i did. and would do so again. >> reporter: but in monticello, iowa, her first stop today, even some supporters want to over. >> she's going to have a challenge on her hands, i think. >> reporter: but for all of clinton's talk about this being a listening tour, her officials, her aides, were burning up the phone lines yesterday for what is expected to billion-dollar campaign. back to you hoda and matt. >> thank you so much. her first big event may, her big p >> right. going to be interesting to watch. and more to come. a lot more people joining the race. meanwhile, there is new fallout this morning o another deadly police shooting. a reserves sheriffs deputy in oklahoma is now charged with second degree manslaughter after what officials have described as an accident. nbc's kevin tibbles is in tulsa with the latest. kevin, what can you tell us? >> reporter: matt, the tulsa county sheriff's office maintains eric harris was a very dangerous man, but this morning his family is asking how he could have been killed by a part-time deputy who reached for his taser but pulled out his gun and shot him. >> stop right here. >> reporter: a chaotic scene as eric harris bolts and runs. with deputies in hot pursuit and body cameras rolling, harris is brought to the groco later. >> roll on your stomach. now. >> reporter: someone says taser. but a gunshot goes off. >> i shot him. i'm sorry. >> reporter: authorities say 73-year-old bob bates, an insurance broker and volunteer deputy pulled the trigger. >> he attempted to use a less lethal advice. inadvertently he used his handgun instead. >> reporter: according to authorities, bates thought he was firing a taser gun. harris' relatives says bates was unqu known the difference. >> you see the violence that was taken towards him. it really turns my stomach. >> reporter: bates is among an estimated 50,000 reserve officers serving in all 50 states. he has reportedly donated both money and cars to the tulsa sheriff's office. and has served more than 3,000 hours as a reserve deputy. >> at no time did he ever show that he had an inability, mentally, physically the task. >> the message this sends is as long as you have plenty of money, you can play sheriff. >> reporter: before the shooting, harris, an exconvict, was caught on camera in a sting operation allegedly selling a gun to an undercover officer. harris, however, was unarmed during the scuffle. and now yet another investigation into yet another deadly shooting. in announcing the charges of second degree manslaughter, the district attorney here in tulsa said they are the result of bates' omission to do something that a person would do. bates is expected to turn himself back in this morning. matt, back to you. >> kevin tibbles on the scene for us in tulsa. that's a tragic story. >> it really is. natalie's joining us now with breaking news ho shooting. >> that's right. and the breaking news is that an intense manhunt is over this morning for kennett stanford iii expected of opening fire monday at community college and killing his former boss. he was taken into custody this morning in daytona beach. the head of the black lawyers for justice is calling for a special prosecutor in the walter scott shooting in south carolina with the now former-police officer charged with murder. for the first time we're hearing from the man who was in the car with walter scott. in the statement pierre fulton said walter was a dear friend and i miss him every day. over the past five years he helped me to become a better man and showed me the value of hard work. i'll never know why he ran, but i know he didn't deserve to die. a man whose beating was caught on tape in southern california is speaking out. ten deputies remain on paid administrative leave following the incident in which the man was repeatedly punched and kicked after fleeing from officials who tried to serve a warrant for identity theft. he spoke exclusively with nbc news. >> i was just talking to myself in my head wishing that i would hurry up and get knocked out so i wouldn't have to feel the pain anymore. >> now frances pusok says he plans to sue. tragedy monday in washington state where a concrete slab broke free a construction site in bonney lake. it fell onto the road onto a pickup truck. a young couple and their baby son were killed. a horrible story there. hundreds of crew ship passengers are recovering from an outbreak of norovirus. more than a hundred sickened passengers were on the celebrity "infinity" that arrived in san diego monday. and more than 100 others were stricken on royal caribbean's "lend of the seas." that ship returns to san diego today. frightening scene over the weekend. before you see this, we should tell you he's okay. a member of a pit crew, though, couldn't get out of the way when a car spun out of control in indy grand prix in louisiana. yeah. painful to watch that. amazingly, he suffered only minor injuries and said he is lucky to walk away with just six stitches. he did a full flip there. >> and you wonder why these pit crew members wear helmets. >> absolutely. workers installing a security system found an unwelcome intruder monday in los angeles. take a look. this is actually a mountain lion hiding out in the crawl space under the house. officials tried to fire bean bags and tennis balls to try to get it out, but it is not budging. found itself its home, i suppose. >> still there. >> still there giving them the evil eye. >> natalie, thanks very much. mr. roker. >> hey. you know, you're a fisherman, right? >> few showers this morning. then cloudy the rest of the da >> we are so happy. all right. here's a look at what's making headlines. an alaska airlines flight had to return to seattle's airport after passengers and crew heard knocking from the cargo hold. it turns out an airport worker had climbed inside and fell asleep. after landing, that man was taken to the hospital as a precaution. hillary clinton makes her first official campaign appearances in iowa today. and florida republican senator marco rubio is now officially in th. he joined us earlier this morning saying it's time to move the country in a new direction. and the jury could be seated as early as today in the trial of accused colorado theater shooter james holmes. holmes has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity. let's begin this half hour with a new death defying stunt from daredevil nik wallenda. >> i don't know if i can take this. we've already seen the king of the high wire cross the grand canyon niagara falls, and skyscrapers in chicago. now he's planning to conquer that. the orlando eye. the largest observation wheel on the east coast. we're going to talk to nik in a moment but first keir simmons is -- kerry sanders is at the eye. good morning. >> reporter: good morning. i'm a little out of breath. not from climbing up that narrow ladder up here but just rather standing up here and looking out. it's a little unnerving. now consider nik wallenda is going to go up there, 400 feet on a beam 6 inches wide. as this begins to turn, he's going to take a stroll. the orlando eye has been four years in the making. the largest of its type on the east coast. a giant wheel that tourists might think offers unique views, but to nik wallenda of the famous flying wallendas, it's just one more challenge. >> i get a lot of enjoyment, fulfillment out of doing things like this. we're just going to walk a little bit here. and here we go. >> reporter: the perfect spot to take what he once did in the circus the so-called wheel of steel. >> we are way up here. >> we are. when i do the bike ride going to be about five times higher than this. >> reporter: and morph it into a new show stopper. the 36-year-old says he will walk step by step with no safety harness, no balancing pole. 400 feet up. that's taller than the statue of liberty. >> it's stepping out of my comfort zone, if you will. there are definitely a lot of nerves involved but a lot of thrill and excitement comes as well. >> reporter: this is the same nik wallenda that left us speechless as he walked the grand canyon. he was the first to walk over niagara falls. now he will help put the orndlando eye on the map. this was built by the same folks who built the london eye. sometimes featured in movies. the hope here is this eye in central florida will one day be as famous as orlando's mickey's mouse and harry potter. >> it's exploration. it's discovery. it's something new, something different. everyone is looking to try something new. that's what we're going to be >> reporter: so do i think that nik wallenda is going to be fine up there? the truth is guys years ago nik wallenda asked me in boston to hop up on his shoulders as he walked out on a tight rope. we had no net and went from one side to the other. i think nik knows what he's doing, guys. >> all right. thanks. we do have big news about wallenda's next stunt. you will be able to watch it live on april the 29th exclusively here on "today." we're a little nervous about that but nik is joining us now. good morning. >> good morning. >> all right. so you did niagara falls, chicago, all the rest. did you just look up at this big structure in florida and say, you know what? that's going to be the nex >> you know it's funny. i was in orlando with my wife and three kids on vacation and as that structure was being erected and i told my wife i wonder if that's something i'd be able to walk on one day. lo and behold within a couple weeks i got a phone call asking if i would do an appearance for the grand opening. >> i'm a little fuzzy on this whole while it's rotating part here. so exactly where are you going to be and how is the rotation of that wheel going to affect your walk? >> well you know i will be -- i'll actually ride a capsule to the top of that wheel. i'll get out, climb down the ladder that kerry showed you there and i'll stand on that rim as it's spinning. i'll do my best to stay at the very apex of that wheel as it's spinning. it's very unique and adds more risk and danger. normally i'm in control of my pace and speed. now a machine is in control of that. >> when you look at the structure, you can see there's not really room for you to have that balancing pole that you usually carry, so you're going without th >> that's right. this is a first for me. a first time in a public appearance anyway to actually walk on something without a balancing pole. that balancing pole adds to the center of my gravity. it buys me time. grand canyon i got hit with winds of 52 miles per hour and that pole, i'm able to adjust to that wind. i won't have that luxury here on the orlando eye. it'll be up to me if the wheel moves sideways from a gust of wind. >> you always say when you pick a place to do a walk it's not only about a challenge, it's about inspiring people. so other than inspiring me to possibly call in sick that day, how do you hope to inspire people with this walk? did you get a phone call? did you get to speak to her soon after? >> i got a picture of her with the sign saying congrats. i'm looking forward to getting back and sharing it with my whole family. >> she is such an inspiration. >> you're an inspiration too. congratulations. really great to have you here. >> appreciate it. >> what a pleasure. meantime, we talked about this next story on monday's "trending." a 65-year-old woman who already has 13 kids. she's now pregnant with quadruplets. this morning we are hearing directly from her. katy tur has that story. katy, good morning. >> reporter: good morning, hoda. her oldest is 44, youngest is 9. and this grandmother is about to have four more. quadruplets are a risky pregnancy for a 20-year-old and she is a lot older than 20. annegret raunigk is 65, a mother of 13, a grandmother of 7. and this summer if all goes well, the oldest woman ever to give birth to quadruplets. i'm not really afraid, she told german tv. i'm very fit and i don't know why this should change now. you can never know, you can be 20 and something happens. 40, you never know. the single mother already made headlines ten years ago when she had her youngest at 55. she says this pregnancy the results of artificial insemination using donor sperm and eggs was a gift to 9-year-old layla who wanted a younger brother or sister. cuddling up to her mom's pregnant belly at a doctor's checkup, layla says she only wanted one but they'll keep the rest. the school teacher who was single had made headlines again since the news broke. people baffles, worried, and sometimes angry at the aging mother. embryo transfer should be discouraged or denied to any woman over the age of 50 with underlying issues and discouraged to those over 55 even without issues. the doctor is worried about premature birth. >> there are some 60-year-olds as healthy as 40-year-olds. and some 40-year-olds as healthy as 70-year-olds. >> reporter: a high-risk pregnancy obgyn in new york city. >> maternal risks for 65-year-olds, are much higher risk. >> reporter: in 2008 at 70 years old, an indian woman became one of the oldest mothers in the world when she successfully gave birth to twins. and in 2007 in the u.s., a 60-year-old took the title of america's oldest with her twin baby boys. both used in vitro fertilization. when doctors confirmed raunigk was having quads, she turned down the option to abort some. and why she is retiring from her job, she has no plans to slow down. saying, i think life with children is great. you continuously have to meet challenges, you probably stay young. now, she says this is not an ego boost for her. that she will not fit into some societal cliche of what a 65-year-old should act like. she does know who the dad is but the donation was anonymous and it will stay that way. as for why she stayed single, she says she's never met the right guy. one last thing. the babies, three boys and a girl. >> wow. katy, thank you so much. i love how the daughter said i only wanted one but i guess we'll keep all four. thanks. all right, matt. over to you. >> thanks very much. the robertson family skyrocketed to fame with their hit reality show "duck dynasty." they're hitting the stage in a new musical production. ♪ the show is called duck commander musical. members of the dynasty are with us now. good morning to both of you. nice to see you. >> hi there. >> trying to imagine the pitch meeting here. someone walks in and says here's our idea. we're going to take "duck dynasty" and make it a musical. how did this go? >> just lately. they had something that went down and chuck todd asked him directly about it. this was his quote responding. people have come up to me on both stripes and they say thank goodness you stood up to the liberal media. other people maybe my wife said count to ten and let them spit out the question first. when you were watching that exchange what was going through your mind? >> well as a spouse you always want the person you love to come off the best that they can. and so it's hard for me sometimes to see him being criticized because that's not who he is in terms of his relationships with women. you know his longtime surgical partner over ten years is a female surgeon. they were in practice together. when i read criticisms like that i want him to obviously come off the best that he can. and i hate to be overly critical because now that i'm doing some of it myself i realize how hard it is in the moment. >> right. did you give him some advance after that? did you say here are some abcs let's go through it. >> sometimes i do. but the more i'm putting myself out there, me more i'm shutting up because i realize how hard it is. >> there's a big article i should point out in "the new york times" about you. when you see a big article like this in "the times" and they ask you a lot of questions about, obviously, your husband. there's a lot of pressure on you when it comes to answering those kinds of things isn't there? >> yes, there is. because, you know this is kind of an interesting world in politics because obviously i love him. he's my husband. and so it's difficult to be in a situation where i'm being asked about things that he's saying or doing. >> you had veto power over the whole presidential bid, at least that's what your husband said. he said my wife will be the one who -- she can put the kibosh on it if she wants. whachs it about this that made you decide this was right for you and your family? >> it's been a long decision. i wouldn't say there was one moment or one thing that happened that made us really decide. obviously rand has been laying the ground work for awhile. we've been talking about it for awhile. but it was a group decision. it certainly wasn't just mine. our kids were involved with it. we wanted to make sure that first of all that rand's ideas were resonating and i think he could make a difference. i believe in that. and i decided in life sometimes you regret things you don't do. i think he played a difference in the senate and could be great. so just trying to be brave and go for it. >> talk about your book. it's a fun read. you and a group of your friends are -- the book is centered off around. it starts off with your grandmother who sounds like a fascinating woman. she talked about just how amazing new york was. and you didn't really know her profession. fill us in on that story. >> you know my grandmother was an extraordinary woman. she was very optimistic and extravagant. when she would walk in a room she would have a scarf on and was a great story teller. as a little girl, she was inspiring to me. she would bring me these fabulous old things from new york when she would visit. it wasn't until i was probably 14 or 15 that my mom started really telling me how hard my grandmother's life had been. she had to quit school at age 12. she fled extreme poverty in ireland and sailed to the united states alone as a teenager in order to find work to send money home to help her family. and her first job was as a live-in maid for the founders of the saks fifth avenue stores. i think that's really where she developed her love of fashion and home decor because she worked for a very wealthy family. >> there's a great thing, behind every strong woman there's a stronger woman. you can read about it in your book. all your friends share incredible stories and so do you. thank you for coming to see us. we appreciate it. the book again is called "true and constant friends." up next former ceo jack welch tells you how to jump start your career but first this is "today" on nbc. 8:39. jack and suzy welch want you to break the rules. he is the former ceo of ge. she is his wife. they're revealing the secrets to succeeding in business in a book called "the real life mba." i like the title. you two have so much different experience in the business world as a ceo, as someone who's written about business as entrepreneurs, as educators. what is the one lesson that you think you need to communicate to people out in the workforce today in terms of them finding a good job and keeping that job? >> speed, learning. the learning is incredible. you've got to keep up with everything. you've got to keep learning. the world is moving faster and you've got to be constantly upgrading your skill base. >> you also think people need to understand the game and how it's played. what's the game? >> business is a game. if you think about it anything other than a game you're missing the fun in it. work has become a grind. in our book we talk about taking the grind out of business and making it a fun game again. whether you're a boss or not, work has got to be fun. >> when i talk to people they talk about two things. they need to find a job and then they're worried about job security. any solution for that other than being really good at your job? >> that helps like hell. let's say that. but constantly upgrading your skills. the game is changing all the time. and you've got to be on top of things. >> when we put up online that you guys were going to be on we got a lot of questions from viewers. tamron's in the orange room. i think this one deals with the entrepreneurial spirit. >> that is right, matt. let's play it. >> my name is julio from brooklyn new york. my question is how did you get your start-up company off the ground? >> well first of all you better have a damn good idea. and then you've got to find a value proposition that people really want. now, if you get those, it requires your passion and some cash. and today getting cash is much easier. >> everybody thinks they have a good idea. who do you go to to find out if you have a really good idea? >> clek on the marketplace. i had an idea a few years ago and asked friends, and it wasn't such a good idea. you could test it online and all different platforms out there. twitter, instagram, throw your idea around. make sure it's a unique idea. without that you're dead in the water. >> tamron this next one deals with the dynamics in the work place. >> let's play it. >> my name is heidi. and i work in an environment where people like to gossip. however, i don't want to be part of that negative energy. how do i participate -- or not participate but still not make any enemies? >> good for you for not wanting to participate. this is a complete career killer. it's so much fun to gossip. we naturally want to gossip. whap else is there to do at work? although the two hardest pieces you give is love everybody. you have to stay out of the gossip. >> did you love everyone at ge? >> no. i'm not sure why we have that here. it's okay. >> all right. get that out of there. >> that's the milk from my cereal. >> how long do you marinate that for? >> a couple hours in the refrigerator. now get them out, pat them dry really good. we don't want soggy pork chops. we'll give them salt and pepper. >> do you cook for the band mates? >> i love to cook for my band mates. >> aren't you a sweet one? >> i'm just doing one now. then we dredge it in the flour and get it in -- >> a hot skillet, right? >> hot skillet. >> got pipt and how long are you cooking these pork chops for? >> about four to six minutes per side. >> okay smells good. >> thank you. we'll move over here. these are done. so i'm going to get them out. and then i'm going to sprinkle them with just a little bit more rosemary. >> how is the pork chop? >> unbelievable. tender and juicy. >> little bit more rosemary cover those up. >> and you've got all your leftovers in here. you leave that alone? >> i'm going to leave it. that's going to give it more flavor for the mac and cheese. we're going to make a rue here. butter flour, garlic powder. >> you're making the sauce. >> that's going to come -- you know that's going to all melt in the real world. then we'll add milk. >> i love you leave all the leftover pork chop stuff in there. >> it's going to make extra flavor in there. then heavy cream. when this cooks down a bit, i'm going to add the smokes gouda. this is what makes it grownup mac and cheese. >> and you've got different kinds in there? >> smoked cheddar and gouda. this goes in and it melts down. and voila. it comes to this. we're going to salt and pepper that too. this is what we get. so from this we add this cute little pasta. >> what kind of pasta do you like to use? >> cavatelli. this is cooked. all done. so this goes in here. see how creamy. it's beautiful. okay. so then that turns into this. and i have panko bread crumbs parmesan cheese garlic. >> i'm going to try this. >> please try the pork chop. >> may i? we'll show that in a minute. >> are we being walked into something more. >> we'll see. meanwhile, a story that's getting a lot of coverage. alaska airlines flight was forced to turn around in the air, make an emergency landing because they heard a help me. apparently the seattle tacoma airport, just 14 minutes after taking off passengers started to hear somebody from the cargo hold area knocking on the floor boards up above in the first class area. the passengers were like what's going on. here's what we got to see. take a look. [ knocking ] >> i'm sure it was much scarier and louder for those passengers. can you imagine the pilot getting word that there was this sound coming from beneath. so they -- >> somebody in the cargo hold. >> fortunately it was a short flight. they did turn around and head back to seattle. the baggage handler reportedly was working a 9 1/2 hour shift which a lot of us do, but we don't fall asleep on the job. >> i'm going to take a nap here. >> apparently it looked cozy amongst the luggage and just fell asleep i guess. >> they were in the air 14 minutes. it's climate controlled. >> it was a pressurized cabin. not a danger to himself. but passengers had this to say after they landed. take a look. >> at first i thought it was a child maybe kicking the back of a seat. >> help, help, help you know. very distinct. >> the captain said we're turning around and announced don't panic which made everyone panic. >> wow. i think everybody -- i would have been in a major panic. but fortunately the guy had no injuries, not sure what's going to happen to him now. but he was treated anyway just checked out at the hospital. make sure everything was okay. >> good news is he got frequent flier miles. >> did he pick those up? >> yeah. >> 14 minutes. that's crazy. you hear pounding from below your feet on the floor. what are you thinking? my gosh. >> freak you out. >> any noise that you don't expect on a flight. >> right. glad everybody's okay in that one. we talked yesterday about hillary clinton jumping into the race for president on the democratic side. last night one of the hopefuls on the republican side, senator marco rubio from florida announcing his candidacy for president. he's a 43-year-old cuban-american married father of four. a very impressive guy. he's only been in the senate for a couple of years. but a lot of people think he could be one of the leading candidates. and his message and not so thinly veiled shot at hillary clinton and jeb bush. we need somebody for the 21st century. we have to look to tomorrow. he's branding himself as the young guy. perhaps the barack obama of seven or eight years ago. >> which is intriguing the jeb bush part of this. it's somebody he looked up to. >> many said he wouldn't get into the race if jeb bush did. >> that to me is a more intriguing dynamic than the hillary clinton story line. and when the intern then turns into the leader. it always goes back to -- yes. that's interesting. do you call? we all been in those situations when you've looked up to someone and maybe they lent you a hand in your career. does he call in advance and say -- >> they talked it out. >> yeah. but to what degree? you know? that's a tough one. >> i like to take it to the jedi level. that's cool. also on the trail yesterday, a lot of people noticed that hillary clinton popped into a chipotle in ohio on her way to iowa from new york where she lives. apparently she ordered a chicken burrito bowl. >> good selection. >> and last june president obama was at a chipotle and leaned over the sneeze guard. >> they are serious about that. you can't even point. >> that happened to you? >> that's just way too far over. that's like into it. >> yeah. so last night i read this story about hillary clinton. this is not a measure of support or political statement, but i was like we're going to chipotle. i just got hungry reading about it. we went with the kids and i did just that. not as far as the president did. i reached over like that and they said, sir, put your finger behind the glass. >> they are serious. >> like here's the glass. >> i went like this. cheese and some guac and i got screamed at. >> why did you feel to reach over. >> there's a lot of stuff. >> sometimes they're not really listening. just uh-huh uh-huh. >> were they listening to you?
