When you go grocery shopping, but the problem is sometimes they can be a little thin, they can be a little flimsy, and maybe over time you get a hole in the bottom of the bag. Or theres a big, giant advertisement on the front, and youre like, i really dont want to advertise to the world where i buy, you know, my bread, milk, and eggs. So what i love to do is transform them into something really colorful and stronger too. And the secret to these bags is using something called industrial tape or duct tape. The oldfashioned duct tapes just used to come, like, in this silver color, but now, when you go to Home Improvement stores and craft stores, you can find it in a whole variety of great colors, like this beautiful purple right here. And it couldnt be any easier to do this project. Ill start with the silver, and im gonna do it right in the middle. And you just kind of slowly go along, pressing the tape into place. Im just gonna flip it. And go around the bag. Flip it again, and then im gonna just trim off the excess, match up the seams, but were not done. Were gonna go around and around, and this is where you can have a lot of fun and be creative. Maybe we do silver and gold. And you want to start in the same place that you started the very first time, and the great thing about this tape its really strong. Its super, super durable, and it really does a fantastic job of reinforcing your flimsy, Reusable Bags. Snip this. Theres a question i get asked a lot how many times do you need to use a reusable bag to actually create a green savings . And the answer is 12. [cheerful music] the very first thing that you need are old plates, and the trick for this project is to actually look for plates that have a pattern. The reason you want that is that whatever sticker you put on top, when you peel it off, its gonna reveal the pattern underneath, and it just adds another dimension that i think really makes this project sparkle and shine. The tools that you need to make a silhouette plate are a plate, a foam brush, and this is regular sticker paper, its the kind that you run through your inkjet or laser printer. Its got patterns on it, and you can cut it out and place it all over. I got a whole bunch of designs here. And then the final thing that you need are paints, and theyre special paints that you find at the craft store. And what you want to look for is something that says multisurface. They come in a whole variety of colors, and theyre designed to be used on glass, ceramic, even canvas, but theyll work beautifully on ceramic plates. And on our 8 1 2x11 sticker paper, what you do basically is you go online, find different silhouette images. You just take your scissors, and you cut in, and cut your shape out. Okay, heres our bird. And we take the backing off. And we find a home for this guy. And remember, whatever is covered by the sticker isnt going to get the paint. And im just gonna stick it into place, making sure theres a great, nice bond between sticker and plate. What you dont want is to have any gaps between the area where the paper hits the plate so that none of the paint that youre using actually seeps under and messes up the silhouette image youre trying to make. Next step, i like the turquoise. Shake the bottle, and you squeeze it right onto the plate. And then you take your brush, and then you just cover the whole plate and being liberal with the amount of paint. And then the next step is that you just let it completely air dry overnight is best. Now what im gonna do, for you, so you can see the finished result, is were not gonna wait for this to dry. You find an edge of the sticker, and you lift it up. You can see our bird comes to life. Last night, police announced a second arrest in the case and as londoners returned to work tomorrow morning, there will be stepped up security in that city. We begin with a new video captured by security cameras and our kelly cobia. Reporter is this the subway bomber just before the attack . Security camera video obtained by our british partner itv news shows a man carrying the same type of supermarket bag found holding the bomb. The video, which has been turned over to police, was recorded just before 7 00 friday morning. An hour and a half later, the bomb sent a fire ball through a subway car, injuring more than two dozen people. The video was taken outside this house south of london. Site of a counterterrorism raid saturday. Investigators were still searching the home today. The homeowners, foster parents ron and penelope jones, honored by the queen for taking in hundreds of children. Its not clear what connection the couple or their home have to the investigation.
