This afternoon, the university released its report on the investigation into Sexual Harassment accusations against yan huffnagel. I understand the coach is accused of using his position to sexually harass a reporter that doesnt work for the university. Reporter thats right, jessica. According to the 23 page report in fact the assistant coach here did use his power to make sexual advancements towards a reporter. The unwarranted interactions began in november 2014. And according to School Officials they started investigating last july after an associate Athletic Director reported the alleged Sexual Harassment. The findings the Athletic Department says left no other choice but to fire cals assistant basketball coach yan huffnagel. Once we had the finding of the results from the report we operated in the manner where we took action and moved in the direction that we did. Reporter they released their detailed investigation into huffnagels relationship with a reporter not affiliated with the school who remains anonymous. According to the report, huffnagel used his power and was her own source of information. She drove the coach home one night after he had been drinking a he propositioned her for sex. Huffnagel seen here on his instagram contract then allegedly closed the garage door using a Remote Control in his possession. After about ten minutes, she says he let her go. Most of the inappropriate interactions were over text. In one huffnagel allegedly says quote come have a three way with me. She declined. When the university questioned him, he said the text was inappropriate but declined to characterize it as Sexual Harassment and described such a text as being indicative of their relationship. The 44 modification outlined in the citys plan for lombard, 11 of them call for widening the sidewalks by making socalled bulbs, areas of the sidewalk at the corners that will stick out into the street, causing cars to slow down as the street narrows and shortening the distance that pedestrians must cross to get to the opposite sidewalk. Palo alto police say according to the 13yearold, a white male between 25 and 30 was wearing a Navy Blue Sweatshirt and gray and green cargo pants when he exposed himself to her along this street, a street very near a church, a Community Center and a park where officers say the suspect was last seen running away. The victim in this particular case did everything exactly right. She removed herself from the situation. She immediately told a trusted adult. And that trusted adult, her mother, did the very perfect thing also which was to pick up the phone and immediately call 911. Others have concerns that customers will not be too happy about seeing a lot of homeless in the neighborhood. Raj, let me show you the hole the city has just agreed to renovate. The plaza hotel off san fernando street has been vacant for years. The hope is by winter, 49 Homeless People will be able to call this home. The vote was unanimous. Late this afternoon the San Jose City Council Agreed to buy and renovate the vacant Plaza Hotel Downtown to provide housing for the homeless. The cost . 2. 5 million. Mayor sam lacardo says its worth it. It is far better for our community to have our homeless in housing than it is for them to be out on the street or in the creeks. We know the world is much more dangerous for them and for everyone else if homeless are out on the street. Reporter but neighbors here arent exactly rolling out the red carpet. Some Business Owners are worried the project could keep customers away. It will affect our economy here and the business for sure. Because youre going to have the Homeless People just staying there that just want to be there and start loitering. Then you get more of them because its a place to hang out. I think it would get a lot of the homeless out of the street personally. Reporter the city hopes to have homeless clients move by the end of the year. There are already plans in the works to turn the santa clara inn on alameda into another homeless hotel. Mayor lacardo says the city is trying to buy rundown hotels or hotels associated with constitution, renovate them and make them available to the homeless. This particular project at the plaza hotel there is a lease for five years. Adobe services which is a nonprofit will be running it. After that the city will reevaluate.
