Perazza was shot but survived. She released a statement overnight to our affiliate in atlanta describing how Shannon Johnson saved her life. Quote, while i cant recall every second that played out that moment, i will always remember his left arm wrapped around me, holding me as close as possible to him behind the chair and amidst all the chaos, i will always remember him saying these three words, i got you. Shannon johnson is the youngest victim, 26yearold aurora gadoy. The oldest was isaac who celebrated his 60th birthday this year. Police say the teenager was climbing on the branch. It snapped and fell. Today people left flowers where the teenager was killed. His friends from Oakland Technical High School also came out to pay their respects. He was a really lighthearted guy, outgoing. He was down for anything. He was like the home boy, you could talk to him about anything. Oakland mayor says the tragic loss is simply heartbreaking for the city. A deadly accident shut down almost all of interstate 880 in hayward this morning. Emergency crews rushed to the scene after police say a man was hit and killed trying to run across the interstate. It happened about 1 30 this morning on 880 southbound north of paseo grande avenue. Police say the man was involved in a fender bender accident, got out of his car and tried to run across the southbound lanes. He was fit by several vehicles and he died before paramedics could get there. For a time during the investigation all southbound lanes were closed, only one northbound lane was open. T truck loads of new warm blankets were dropped off at the home first shelter on little orchard street in shaig. The shelter houses the homeless and also those in need. In this cold weather its been filling up fast. Shelter Officials Say the donated blankets will make more beds. This is an annual event we have on the birthday of the first of the sikh religion. His message was to share, to share with everybody. Thats why were here from the Sikh Community to give in this cold season. Nothing new either, theyve been donating blankets to shelters for about 30 years. Next saturday well be donating more blankets and also raincoats to another shelter. A bay area nonprofit is doing its part to keep kids active by giving bikes to kids who dont have them. Turning wheels for kids in san jose held a bike Building Event today. A thousand volunteers helped assemble bikes at the San Jose Convention center. These bikes will go to kids that cant afford one. All different kids. Foster kids, homeless children, children that are families are being rehabilitated, things like that. Hap happy, smiling good faces. Thats a face well all remember. More than 3500 children will be getting bikes assembled today. Many bike also be handed out during christmas. Theres going all out for charity and theres going all out for charity. Thats going in.
