The second most destructive fire was the cedar fire. That fire killed 15 people and burned 2800 homes and structures. The deadliest fire in california history. You might remember the Oakland Hills fire of 1991. That impacted a generation of families who lived in the oakland and berkeley hills. Near nearly 3,000 homes and structures were destroyed. A lot of problem to report on a fire in monterey county. Its 94 containment. This fire started sunday and burned more than a thousands acres. One bern has died. This mother, father and son havent been seen since they headed up to their cabin almost two weeks ago. Tonight are the charred remains inside the cabin theirs . If so, how did they die. Reporter Adam Buchanan is the president and chief operating officer of buchanan construction and son. Adam, his wife and their 7yearold son went missing september 11. A fire destroying their cabin during a weekend get away. The Sheriff Department says the remains of two people and possibly a third have now been found inside of the cabin and say they are treating it as a possible criminal investigation. I know adam. He did some work for us. Hes a great guy. Reporter now the familys teen son who stayed behind and the rest of the community can only wait for the word on what happened. He says adam did great job fixing the interior of her home. He did a great job and came back and checked to make sure it was the way i wanted it and everything. Reporter you can imagine when she heard about this bad news. It made me sick to think that because he is a nice guy. Theyre a young family. They were doing well. I was really shocked. Reporter investigator cannot confirm if those remains match that of the family. They are treating it as a homicide. Thank you. San jose Police Officer has been fired. He was accused och raping a woman while on duty. Hes been on paid administrative leave since his arrest of last year. He was accused of raping a woman in 2013 after responding to a disturbance at her home. They are not saying why he was fired this week. His lawyers say the move is premature because the former officer hasnt been found guilt of a crime. Police spotted a robbery suspect at train station. Today officers recognized the suspect by his tattoos and properly arrested him. Hes been identified as 26yearold tommy evans from florida.
