Reporter she says they stole stole its stuck with other cases because theres only one detective investigating burglary reports. In 2006 theyd 3 sergeants, and nine others to investigate fraud. This year there are no sergeants, theres two fraud detectives and one burglary detective left. John lives across from the recent breakin. He said in the 15 years hes lived here its never been as bad as the last few months with a spike in burglaries. They know that the pd doesnt get there for 20 30 minutes later and sometimes they wont show up at all. These people dont care if they get caught because they know the statistics. Crews are working around the clock to clean up that huge oil spill. They have already removed more than 7,000 gallons of oil from the coast, but thats just a fraction of what they spilled on tuesday. The coast guard says as much as 105,000 gallons may have seeped into the pacific ocean. Several agencies including the epa and the california Conservation Corporation are on the scene. Governor brown has already declared this a state of emergency. They need to clean up that oil spill just as fast as they can and make sure that pipelines are safe. New details tonight in the case of a south bay Camp Counselor accused of child molestation. Parents of two children who attended the camp are taking legal action against the county office of education. He has denied that he molested children or kept pornography on his personal computer. Prosecutors say he kept that computer at the camp where he worked nearly three years. Today the attorney representing the parents and two former campers accused the office of negligence. The parents want to right the wrong. They want to make sure that their child receives appropriate care, whatever that is and the child is still being evaluated. Of course they want to make sure that this never happens again. The legal claim alleges the camp didnt follow its own rule that children never be in the company of just one adult. A window washer here he is survived a fall and now his employer faces more than 12,000 in fines. The chronicle is reporting that state regulators claimed sensory window washing failed to give pedro perez adequate training and safety equipment. Perez plunged 11 stories in downtown San Francisco last november. He landed on top of a car, which actually cushioned his fall and likely saved his life. Police released Surveillance Video that showed the suspects car right before the alleged kidnapping attempt. An officer spotted the vehicle while following up on leads. The Police Department says it got a lot of tips from the community. Its a phenomenal response from the community, and it really makes us grateful to have such large support. Police say their investigation is not over. Officers are now asking any other victims to come forward. A driver now faces several felony charges after Highway Patrol officers say he was drunk when he crashed his sports car, killing four people. Officers arrested the man at his home this morning. He suffered very bad injuries in the may 12th crash. Investigators believe that he lost control of his ford mustang on a curve in gilroy. His car landed in a ditch. Three 18yearold women and a 24yearold man died in that wreck. Its about to get more expensive for uc students but only certain students. Today uc regents approved an 8 tuition hike for all out of state and international students. That means the average cost of attending a uc school like cal or ucla will increase to nearly 37,000 starting in the fall. The tuition hike stems from a budget compromise between the governor and uc president , janet napolitano. That deal ensures that california residents wont face any tuition hikes for at least the next two years. Theres a lot happening at todays uc regents meeting. Not just tuition, but even gun control.
