Tonight fire crews are on the scene of two blazes in the south bay. One in san martin came dangerously close to homes. We have more on those growing fire fears. Marianne . Just about three things made the fire difficult to contain. One was the wind and dry grasses and also the steep hillside you see behind me. The fire scorched ten acre and came close to five ranchstyle homes on the other side of this hill. Which is why firefighters use the reverse 911 system to call homeowners and tell them to get out. Firefighters say thanks to the drought, this maybe the beginning of a busy and long fire season its really the normal. We normally start fire season around the end of may. We started it the beginning of april this year. And because of the late rains and nice grass crop this year that we didnt have this year we have potential for a very busy season. Police say the woman on her bike and dump truck driver were on fremont overpass this morning. The driver of the truck told police as he drew closer the cyclist appeared to get nervous, wobbled and fell on to the roadway. Police temporarily shut down the ramp to 880 along with one lane of fremont boulevard. Speeding it up by tearing it down. Mayor lee and scott weiner are proposing a plan that will tear down the 280 freeway exmention to mission bay and replace it with a train. They questioned the citys authority to issue binding orders on the business zoning. He said only a squluj can validate such an order and the two are addressing the issues before the court. He challenges the citys ability to limit the sale of medical marijuana to individuals 21 and older. Saying dra california voters and state law placed no age limit. He questioned the objectivity of our under cover officer. Finally the attorney questioned that what they respect or wants us to respect is san jose organic has as right to due process and said we should not condemn them on tv.
