Well get to that in just a minute. Lets start with the good totals we picked up today in the south bay. Impressive numbers to tell you about, just under one inch of rain in sarah tea go and here in campbell 2 10ths and that is a good total for a 24hour period. I want to take you live to tahoe, show you the snow flakes coming down now. This is live from squall valley and the mountains hold the key. You may not be aware but snow pack supplies 1 3rd of the total supply for california. The snow pack replenishes in the summer months when we dont get that much rain and its critical to the drought. Were at 36 of normal snow pack for this time of year. That number could jump as high as 40 when we get the april 1st snow survey. Here is the deal. Tomorrows survey is incredibly significant because typically snow accumulates up until prim april 1st and melts thereafter. Were still dun down 60 but every little bit counts and this late series of storms has actually made a pretty good difference. So still, going to be a long time before we get out of the drought and nobody knows that better than you. Thats right. You brought up an excellent point. Totals adding up. Chain controls up but you may notice around the bay area, sunny breaks, too, but dont let your guard down. More thundershowers and hail is possible into the overnight hours. Some of it went through roofs. Some came down on vans. Went through windows, through the sides of houses. A hole on the side of a house, the size of a bowling ball where wood slammed through and it flew a block in each direction. A woman that lives two houses away heard the blast and said it sounded like an ieu. She wasnt sure what happened. I saw wood scattered everywhere so i thought the roof exploded. So i looked over at the tree that used to be 80 feet tall and its only 20 feet tall now and i realized that the tree had been hit by lightening and had exploded. Reporter take a look at a before and after. We got a google photo to show you how tall the tree was and what it looks like now. About 55, 60 feet of tree gone. Four houses are without power out here. There have been 193 smaller quakes and what they are looking at, if that 5. 1 is a forshock to a bigger quake that could hit in the next few days. Were seeing downpours leaving san jose, just ten minutes ago coming down good but the sun has broken out and sunny skies towards the peninsula. Good news for the oakland as opener. A good chance of rain. Look at the temperatures outside. 40s and 50s. So it is quite chilly as you step outside. Right now 49 in san jose. If you cam pair that to 24 hours ago, were running much cooler, no doubt we had a strong cold front come through today and now the cooler air a lot moving through dropping the snow levels over the next 24 hours. This is the last six hours. You can see the lightning strikes in the north bay towards the east bay, most action around mid afternoon and earlier today. Congratulations. The vip treatment continues tomorrow with breakfast at joe bidens home then biden tells the roseys he has more plans for them but those plans are still a surprise right now.
