vauxhall. >> tom, what do we know now? >> reporter: we're being told that london police are officially calling these terror attacks. we don't know if these people we've seen being arrested in video are people responsible for the attacks. this is still very fluid right now but we're still monitoring live video. we're being told that the van who plowed through pedestrians on london bridge and several people stabbed nearby and the other incident are now all being called terror attacks. we heard an eyewitness who said he saw ha a gun fight with police. >> two men behind the -- get back. [ making machine gun noises ] >> here's some of that video of officers taking people down, making arrests. several arrests we've heard about. we don't know if these are suspects or these are other people who have been involved in crimes through all of this chaos right now. in the way area b.a.r.t. police have responded by placing the system on high alert. we'll have more later on in the monday morning. the deadly scene happened early yesterday morning. this took place outside a hotel. that's when matthew bates from australia got into some sort of argument that quickly got violent. he died later from injuries sustained in that fight. >> is the water safe to drink? some warned their water is tainted after someone attempted to pry open a top hatch of a water tank. happened yesterday in south san francisco at the sunshine gardens. nbc bay area sergio quintana joining us live. what is the latest? >> yesterday when they found that breach they did some preliminary tests and found that there was no danger in the water. to be on the safe side they went ahead and issued that no-drink order. the water in the sunshine gardens neighborhood of south san francisco is safe to drink. thought the day other residents have been coming by to pick up free bottled water for drinkling and cooking. service workers discovered the problem friday morning. they found the gate lock was cut. then they realized someone had scaled one of the tanks and tried to pry open a door hatch on top. they did run the preliminary tests archds founding in dangerous was in there. but they flushed the water system and issued a no-drink warning. >> don't use no water. we went out for dinner and we had bottled water and we went to work. >> my children and she put it in the highways. >> another round of tests was ordered yesterday afternoon and the results were just received about 40 minutes ago. the test results, there is nothing dangerous in the water. people affected, people in the affected neighborhood of sunshine gardens have been told this afternoon that theap waters safe to drink. meanwhile police are still trying to find the people who broke into that yard and scaled that water these attacks happening all at the same time. we do not know if the arrests are people responsible for the attacks but we have been seeing some arrests. this is very fluid right now. lot of voepd coming in we're continuing to monitor. right now we're told by officials in london that these are terrorist attacks. first a van plowing through pedestrians on the london bridge. then several people stabbed in a nearby restaurant. this happened just after 2:00 our time. we had a camera there as police chased specs through the streets yelling at people to get back and be safe.
