Around 9 00 a. M. , a citizen flagged down Police Officers, noticing a suspicious white van and a man who matched the description of jossein nayeri, one of the three inmates who escaped. Investigators already in san jose after the manager of this south bay motel said all three of the men stayed there this past week. One of the suspects recently turning himself in to authorities in Southern California. The Orange CountySheriffs Department saying the remaining two, jossein nayeri and Jonathan Tieu had ties to San Francisco. All officers were notified to be on the lookout for the inmates. Reporter it was at this corner where they found jossein nayeri. They tell us that was only the beginning of the chase. Police chased nayeri down to the stadium and then back to the Park District station. He was arrested without incident, then off seniors went back to that suspicious van. Officers went to investigate the van where they found Jonathan Tieu hiding inside. Reporter police found three rounds of ammunition inside, but no guns. I can say this morning that the entire state can breathe a sigh of relief because we have the other two dangerous individuals back in custody where they should be. Now, i just got off the phone with the San FranciscoSheriffs Department, they tell me both m men have been transported to the county jail. Pete, thank you very much. Heres a detailed look at the escape and capture of the inmates. They escaped the Orange County jail one week ago, they lowered themselves down from the building using bed sheets. The three made their way to san jose, its unclear if they stopped before they got here. The manager of a San Jose Motel says the three stayed there tuesday and wednesday before checking out on thursday. Duong made his way back to santa ana where he turned himself in yesterday. Happening now, a police car stolen and thats just the beginning of this bizarre crime spree that happened in campbell two people are still on the loose. This is a bizarre sequence of events, how did this start . It started earlier this morning when police were checking out a string of burglaries and two stolen vehicles. M. , three patrol cars cornered the suspects. One of the suspects rammed one of the patrol cars, two male suspects jumped out and ran for it but murillo, the woman left behind seeing the chase and an unintended patrol car jumped inside to drive away. Thats when one of the officers who just had been rammed, tried to stop her. The door to the patrol car was closed. He reached in through the open window to get the car stopped and keys out of the ignition. At that point the female suspect put the car into reverse and accelerated at a high rate of speed. That threw the officer to the ground. She fled down winchester boulevard. Police want the husbands hech in finding hurillo and hernandez. Murillo apparently left the patrol car two hours later. A third suspect was captured after the foot chase. He is 22yearold anthony reyes. As for the veteran officer who was dragged an thrown, he was treated and released from el ka meet to hospital.
