The unit was supposed to move into bigger quarters, and take on more patients at the new county facility scheduled to open september 19th, funded partly by taxpayerapproved measure a. But as we showed the building is nowhere close to being finished, george is disappointed patients have to deal with the smaller, older facility. At this whole foods behind me at bay place and harris in oakland. Today the store has a handful of uniformed officers from allied private security. The officer said to have been involved is not a new employee. A shopper who posted photos of the incident on facebook generating Immediate Reaction on social media says the man who was beaten unconscious and bleeding tried to use an electronic food stamps car. A spokeswoman says he made physical contact with an employee. Im completely shocked. Ive never heard of anything like this. Reporter Oakland Police confirm its investigating the incident. That the man beaten unconscious was taken to a local hospital and is listed in stable condition. I dont think there is anything a customer can do short of assaulting another customer in a store that would require that kind of response. A tough day for a bay area woman whose uhaul truck was stolen with many treasured belongings inside. These are pictures of things she packed up for her move from San Francisco back to oakland. All lanes of highway 280 are open, which is good news for holiday travelers. Earlier today, a brushfire closed two lanes of northbound traffic along the peninsula. The fire started this morning, burning near the 280 and 92 interchange, just west of belmont. Only about 15 acres burned before the fire was contained, but there was a lot of heavy smoke and lots of firefighting equipment on the lanes. Thats why they were closed. And these winds are also extending here to the immediate coastline as were finding anywhere between 20 to 30 mile an hour sustained winds, including in San Francisco. We heard about the accident with the kite surfer at the top of our show. And we do want to alert everyone of these dangerous beach conditions that will be with us through tonight, also into saturday, and sunday. With that warming weather, you may be wanting to head out here but there is a Small Craft Advisory in place. Wave heights 5 to 8 feet and gusts that could range 20 to 40 Miles Per Hour. So just take extra caution if youre headed anywhere near the coastline. Otherwise, it has been beautiful today, right now the south bay checking in at 73 and sunny skies. A mild 74 in the east bay. Up against the immediate coastline in the peninsula, we have 61, and then back toward San Francisco currently 68. Tomorrow mornings forecast does have mainly clear conditions. Were not expecting a huge fog event here throughout the bay area. And youll also notice much cooler temperatures. Of check it out in the north bay. Likely starting off with 49 degrees for the peninsula. 55 and also mid 50s for the south bay. The wind will be shifting as we head throughout tomorrows forecast. Again, all about this cooler westerly and slightly northerly wind through the bay area. By tomorrow, were going to see these winds shift to more of a drier direction coming out of the north. Also slightly out of the east. That will help temperatures to warm up as we head throughout saturdays forecast. You take that drier and that hotter wind, and you combine it in with this area of High Pressure thats going to be building off shore, and we do expect mid 90s by the time we get to Labor Day Weekend for the interior valleys and that will also mean 70s at the immediate coastline. So, again, much hotter as we head throughout the next three days. Lets take you to the microclimate forecast as we head throughout saturday. Its going to be nice here. Check it out. Morgan hill, 83 degrees. San jose, 84. For the peninsula, even going up to 71 in pacifica. So nice beach weather. But once again, dangerous surf. Back to palo alto, 83 degrees. And all of San Francisco expected to heat up into the 70s. Now for the north bay, east bay and also fort tri valley, it has been so enjoyable.  all it takes is that wind to shift and now were looking at temperatures in the tri valley close to 90 degrees tomorrow. Pleasanton coming in at 89. Danville, 87. Oakland hopping to 77. Walnut creek 87. For the north bay, wine country, mid 80s from santa rosa right down to napa. Lets take a look at that extended forecast. As we head through sunday, also monday. Those will be the hottest days as we look at that Holiday Weekend. You can see for the south bay, warming up to 89 on sunday. 91 by monday. San francisco in the upper 70s. Looks like the hottest temperatures well have will be the tri valley at 95 degrees on monday. The battle over that chicken which disrupted bay area traffic this week. Quick, but dramatic high speed chase in sonoma county. A young woman led police on a quick but dramatic highspeed chase in sonoma county. It started just before midnight near santa rosa. Police say at times the chase topped 110 Miles Per Hour on highway 101. The driver got on and off the highway several times. She managed to avoid spike strips but the strips flattened the tires of other cars and even a police car. Chp eventually managed to stop the driver, but officers had to fire nonlethal gas until she got out of her car. Thats when they took her into custody. While a custody fight tonight over a chicken. Yes. Wednesdays chicken rescue on the bay bridge has now turned into a foul fight. So called toll plaza chicken, chip inspired by the officers who rescued her. Today she rules the roost already.
