we are learning more information about two men shot by police in san francisco early this morning. investigators say the suspect had some type of air gun, an fake or replica as they previously believed. about 2:00 this morning, two groups of men got into a confrontation at 17th and valencia street. a bystander flagging down two officers who opened fire when they saw one man brandishing a gun. while that man and another man were hit and remaining hospitalized in critical condition. a town hall meeting will be held to discuss shootings and police chief greg sur will be there. a shooting at a party in concord. it was off monument boulevard around 8:30 last night. police arrived and found the body of ismael ramirez. 29-year-old vincent ochoa was taken into can custody and booked for murder. 54-year-old line el fluker was hit bay stray bullet while driving home from the gym friday night. nbc bay area marty francis talked to friends and coworkers and joins us live from oakland with more. >> terry, good evening, i'm told lionel's favorites things were taking photos. he was driving home from the gym at about 10:15 friday night when he was caught in the line of fire of a shooting at sem he na seminary avenue. the other man who was the intended target was shot but not survive. fluker add career as a computer engineer but discovered a love for photography while at the trib. nick lambers, director of photography for the bay area news group, and describes fluker as a coworker, friend and family. >> he always had a spring in his step. and would greet you with a, hey, baby, what's going on. a really nice guy. always laughing. always up tempo. and you know, it is just so sad it see a life like this taken away so senselessly. >> and nick also shared some of lionel's photos top u.s. military commandener south korea because of tensions with north korea. the move is a day after the pentagon delayed a missile test at the air force base. >> reporter: despite ferocious propaganda video out of north korea with scenes of crazed german shepherds taking and tearing apart the ep ji of south korean defense minister, this is the second day in a reof dialling back what has escalating tension between pyongyang, seoul and washington. for instance, the pentagon said it was delaying testing one of its own minutemen, intercontinental ballistic miiles in california, concerned the timing of it might be misled by kim jong-un's regime. also a top military commander postponed his meetings in washington for the same reasons. south koreans for international special envoy to the winds back off to the middle part of the week and temperatures come up. most of the rain in the bay area, generally less than .1 inch. during the day, not much at all noted there. notice overnight tonight, look for about a month of snow, maybe. the highest peaks about half foot around king veil, around 6,000 feet. so temperatures tomorrow morning will be in the 40s. we will see breezy conditions for monday. no worries about needing an umbrella during the day. winds are gusty though. mid to upper 60 1s around east bay hills. santa rosa though, north wind warming and drying out that air. close to 70 tomorrow. then everyone warms up tuesday and wednesday. overnight showers, winds picking up for monday. tuesday, still breezy in the hills. wind back off high pressure giving it 70 1s mourning the loss of one of their own in afghanistan at the end of an especially deadly weekend there. among the six americans killed yesterday in a pair of attacks was a young woman described tonight as selfless and idealistic by secretary of state john kerry. yesterday was the deadliest day for the u.s. in afghanistan since last summer, and it was followed today by the deaths of nearly a dozen afghan civilians in a nato air strike. nbc's ron mott is following developments for us tonight from kabul. ron? >> reporter: lester, good evening. as temperatures get warmer here in afghanistan, insurgent attacks are expected to pick up both in frequency and in intensity. and if this weekend's deadly violence serves as any indication, the upcoming fighting season could be quite challenging. in a convoy to deliver books to an afghan school, 25-year-old american diplomat anne smedinghoff became the first such official slain overseas since last year's attack on the u.s. consulate in benghazi, libya, in which ambassador chris stevens and three others were killed. today in turkey secretary of state john kerry calls smedinghoff's loss a gri
