chopper video, give you a bird's eye view. you see the suspect sitting in his car as s.w.a.t. team negotiators try to work with him. it's affecting a lot of homes and town buildings. and during that 16-hour standoff that we're seeing, shots were fired. those gun shots that i cshots b suspect's car, which appear to be accidental. a mother said her daughter is stuck in her car garage, which is a separate unit from her house, is the only place she can go to. >> she's very upset. she has her little dog with her right now and he's, you know, feeling locked in, you know, so -- walnut creek police say the suspect allegedly shot a woman in a park yesterday afternoon. you can see s.w.a.t. negotiators next to that car. you can see a drone flying above it and the identities of that suspect and victims have not been released. it's still unclear exactly what the relationship may have been. live in martinez, pete suratos. >> hopefully this will be resolved soon. we are following developing news out of fairfield. a man arrested for setting up a series of firebombs. earlier the bomb squad had to set off several suspicious devices there. is it cleared now? >> it's a lot calmer than it was this morning. investigators are looking into allegations this may have been the result of retaliation for prescription drugs, a drug deal that had gone bad. police arrested 39-year-old matt scott jones of fairfield. they say before that he's accused of firebombing a neighbor's apartment on north texas street by throwing propane canisters through a window, then firebombing a car and firebombing the front of the fairfield police department, where clean-up was happening this morning where surveillance video and a witness led police to jones. the apartment complex was evacuated for some time this morning. everyone is back in. there are neighbors here who tell police it all started with a dispute over drugs a couple of weeks ago. >> the individual that apparently is in custody had a dispute and they ended up beating him up pretty good. >> prescription drugs are an issue. people using prescription drugs not prescribed to them has been an ongoing issue for years and is getting increasingly worse. >> jones is being held on suspicion of eight felonies, including suspected murder and hate crimes. jones will likely be arraigned on monday. according live in fairfield, nbc bay area news. >> thank you, chuck. >> on lighter news, the temperature is going to be heating. >> a lot of people heading into the bay this weekend. let's check in with kari hall. >> all of this sunshine will be warming up those temperatures and we'll eventually make it up to 76 degrees. they're going to see a high in palo alto and san francisco up to 68 degrees, the north bay 79 degrees in napa and santa rosa. here's a live look outside. we see quite a few ball players throughout throwing the ball around and practicing warming up. the game will be later on this evening versus the padres starting at 7:15 and at time for the first pitch it will be 62 degrees, a lot of sunshine and mostly clear skies as we go into the evening. heading into the weekend, we will see a lot more sunshine. we'll talk more about that coming up in just a few minutes. >> a bart train stalled on the tracks this morning. . mike, what have we learned? >> first there are 52 trains running on time and there were major delays due to problems with one particular train. it's this train we have video of from our sky rang are helicopter. this is just outside the main track. the disabled train sits on this pocket track but, get this, it was one of the new trains that bart's been testing this morning. we don't know exact will what caused the problem with the train's propulsion system but we're following that in the newsroom. we had hoped the new fleet of cars wouldn't have such problems. this right no train is just sitting on the tracks there and we're awaiting further information. we're following that in the in an interview with reuters yesterday, president trump said a major conflict with north korea is possible in a standoff oaf its nuclear and missile programs but he would prefer a diplomatic outcome to this dispute. >> reporter: in a wide ranging interview, president trump said a major, major conflict with north korea is a possibility but he also said he would love to solve thediplomatically but said it is, quote, very, very difficult. north korea has said it will go forward with its nuclear and missile programs, saying that a sixth nuclear test will happen at some point. secretary of state rex tillerson saying that china has warned north korea, they say unilateral sanctions if they go forward with that test. this morning china as foreign minister was asked about that. he said a sixth nuclear warning was a hypothetical and wasn't willing to talk about that. donald trump taking on a key ally here, south korea, that he may terminate a trade agreement with south korea next week calling it a horrible deal saying, quote, it's less mameria destroyed. >> it's friday. it looks like it's going to be an absolutely spectacular weekend. >> that wind has died down. >> that's all we've been talking about, that amazing weekend headed our way. this is what it looks like right now as you step out the door. it's 64 degrees, 66 in the pleasanton volley. east bay 65 degrees there and our temperatures go from the 60s into the upper 70s for the south bay and also 75 in las -- 68 on the embarcadero with 78 degrees today in sonoma. so our temperatures going above normal and it's still quite breezy, our winds coming in from the north at about 10 to 15 miles an hour. those sustained winds coming in at about 20 miles an hour. we still will keep it breezy even throughout the evening. otherwise, we're looking at some very nice, comfortable weather. and those winds are also blowing around a lot of allergens. we still have moderate levels of some grass pollen that will continue into the weekend as well. looking at the valley and inland area, starting out tomorrow at 9:00, we're at 61 degrees and at noontime, 72 degrees. as you get out and about, our temperatures will be warming up. make sure you pack lots of bottles of water and the sunscreen. it will be bright and sunny as the temperatures warm up to 80 degrees inland. it will be slightly warmer on sunday. we keep the sunshine throughout the day. feeling very summer-like and nice evenings headed our way. the butter and egg days starts at 10:00 in the morning but the parade is at noon and it will be at 68 degrees starting out and we see the temperatures quickly making into the upper 70s throughout the rest of the day. if you want something cooler on sunday, head to half moon bay to check out pacific coast green machine and our temperatures will be in the 60s throughout the day. russian river valley will have warm temperatures for today up to 73 degrees and then upper 70s for the rest of the something to protect you from the sun as the temperatures will warm into the 70s. and we'll have the dance festival and jack london square from noon until 8:00. if you're going to have a beach date in santa cruz, we're also going to see the sun shining there. temperatures a little cooler to start in the mid 60s, upper 60s by noontime and then into the mid 70s throughout the day. for cooler temperatures, maybe you want to go to heavenly. these are some live pictures. so a little bit more time to get there and enjoy the snow that we had from the very copious amounts of snow from the season. we are going to see temperatures reaching into the mid 70s. for the next seven days, not a drop of rain in this forecast. it will be nice and mild today. it makes it a little bit warmer for tomorrow. temperatures continue to warm up, we'll be in the upper 80s for the middle of next week, up to 89 degrees by next wednesday. i'm not seeing a break in those temperatures. looks like it saved
