He told police that he did it and he knew they were looking for him. Tonight detectives are going door to door talking to people who may have heard or seen something during this mornings shooting rampage. Monique skinner heard the shots and saw the victims. It was an innocent man that was shot dead as he was coming to get him something to eat. You know, like i feel like its wrong. I dont care if it was a white man that shot a black guy or black man that shot the White Reporter the rampage began late this morning. Shots rang out outside Catholic Charities on fulton. Two people shot dead. Police say they were clients and not employees. The third victim was a Pg E Customer Service employee zachary randalls. He had just gotten hired and doing a ride along with a fellow employee. Linda sanchez came to the scene tonight to pay her respects. He had just gotten hired. He has a little boy and a little girl. And thats what i was telling them. I said, this morning they had a father and now they dont. Reporter muhammad was a suspect in the killing of carl williams, a Security Guard at a motel 6 in fresno last thursday. Police say thats why he went on the killing spree. He made a decision to himself that he was not going to go to jail for shooting a Security Guard, that he was going to kill as many people as he could today and thats what he set out to do. Reporter muhammad will be charged with four counts of murder and attempted murder. The fbi is helping in the investigation. In fresno, cheryl hurd, nbc bay area news. Cheryl, thank you. Look down there, you can see the hill slide, it is big and getting bigger and it comes all the way up to the bay park retirement home. As you mentioned, hundreds of people live here and some arent surehats going to happen next. I think this was the worst after a big rain. It was on march 26. Reporter rose ali, a resident at bay park retirement home has been documenting the hill slide since february when the big cracks first appeared right behind the home. What theyre telling us is that the soil there is klay. And when klay gets too full of water, it becomes incredibly slippery. Reporter she says shes fine, but worries about her neighbors. There are people with hearing and vision disabilities and mental disabilities and they get frightened very easily and so, yes, there are people that are concerned. Reporter holiday retirement communities owns the building. A spokesman blames the massive erosion on the heavy rains. Following an engineers assessment, the company says it closed activity and exercise room and dining room out of an abundance of caution. Adding if there is any indication that the safety of the communitys residents and associates are in jeopardy they will be evacuated immediately. Did it get bigger today sutdly . Not today, but maybe a week ago when we had rain for several days, it got a lot bigger. Reporter management says it is working with the city and with engineers trying to get this resolved as quickly as possible. What they really need out here is a nice, long stretch of dry weather. They have been management has been meeting with the residents here and with the families of the residents here trying to reassure them that the engineers say everything is okay. The account featured topless photographs of women in the sorority as well as some pictures showing alcohol bottles in the room of the sorority house. Both are rule violations. We just feel that were being punished for them unfairly. In total, 22 members have been asked to leave. Just in, an emotional battle about renters rights, its happening late tonight in san jose. That means a landlord must now give a reason why a renter is being evicted and that reason must match one of the 12 criteria including not paying rent or nuisance violations. Renters say this is a big win. These landlords will survive. Tenants need more protections in san jose. I think that that would do much better to serve this Community Without more ordinances. Really, this is a big issue around the bay area. Critics in san jose say these new regulations will mean fewer units in the south bay and san jose. They also say landlords will screen renters more thoroughly. A controversial resolution approved by the Oakland City Council tonight which encourages Business Owners to create sanctuary workplaces. The proposal wont change any laws, but the hope is that Business Owners will use it to protect low income and undocumented immigrants. It also encourages them to know their legal rights when it comes to federal raids. A rally held earlier today where many said theyll be taking part in a strike on may 1st when thousands of people are expected to walk off the job in honor of immigrant rights. New at 11 00 theyre blaming the landlords for a couple deaths in berkeley. Roger and valerie died from Carbon Monoxide poisoning inside their apartment in january. A lawsuit filed by rogers mother claims the landlord and building owners failed to install detectors inside the unit. While the detector was in place on the bottom floor, there wasnt one on the top floor where that couple died. Three drifters who killed two people in the bay area have been sentenced.
