>> it's going to miss the major rush for tomorrow. the bulk of this storm will be heading away from the bay area. we're not expecting a super strong storm but as that cold front sweeps across, it will bring us wet weather for tomorrow morning. it is starting to bring a few areas of rain, approaching santa rosa from the west moving off towards the east. you'll likely get showers here in the next 20 to 30 minutes. other than that it's mainly dry throughout the bay area. how do things look for us overnight? that's really when most of it is expected to happen. at 2:30 in the morning, it moves across the peninsula, and eventually down towards san jose. we're tracking how much rainfall we'll get and another drastic change expected by the weekend. that's coming up in 15 minutes. >> we do have live coverage of traffic and weather together on "today in the bay" starting tomorrow morning at 4:30 a.m. >> it's certainly been a long time since this has happened but california will really count when it comes to choosing candidates for president. republican party leaders say that's evidenced by the fact that donald trump is coming to town. the billionaire republican will be in burlingame two weeks from friday. he'll kick off the convention at the hyatt regency. >> i'm glad we are attracting really for the first time all the republican presidential nominees. >> i would say trump has a slight edge. >> reporter: why? >> just because of the celebrity side to it. >> trump promised a pro-jobs agenda. >> bernie sanders and hillary clinton staged duelling rallies in new york today. this is the head of the state's presidential primary that will take place next week and also tomorrow's new york debate. sanders people said at his rally at a park in manhattan brought one of the largest galleries he's ever had, some 27,000 people. and clinton focused on the republicans in the race. sanders did not return that favor. he criticized the front-running democrat for her vote in support of the iraq war and also her super pac. >> the search continues in season fran for that missing 2-year-old toddler but tonight folks in san francisco are remembering her deceased mother. details in a live report. >> plus an unprecedented donation in the fight against cancer. what inspired tech billionaire sean parker to pony up a quarter of a billion? and the department of transportation is keeping score. the airlines most likely to be on time and the ones most likely to be late. as the statewide search for two year old arianna fitts continues, those who worked with her mother nicole...who was found dead just days after going missing with arianna...are a search for 2-year-old arianna continues. those who worked with her mother, nicole, are remembering her tonight. pete souratos joins us. >> they emotional for her co-workers. it was private even though it was in this public parking lot. earlier today i spoke with a close friend of hers who worked with her at best buy. she said they were close friends and she was the last person to see her. employees held a private vigil in the parking loss, mourning the loss of nicole fitz who went missing with her 2-year-old arianna last week. arianna is still missing, her mother was found dead. nicole lived with goyette's family. >> i had left my lunch at home one day and she bought me lunch. we were best friends ever since. >> goyette said nicole never came back from a meeting that was said to be with arianna's baby-sitter who lives in oakland. nicole told goyette the baby-sitter was upset. >> i said are you sure you want to go alone? if she's upset, i can go with you. >> she did get a call three hours later saying she was in fresno. we now know that's not the case as the search for arianna and search for nicole's killer continues. employees tell me they plan to hold a more public vigil this friday. sfpd did not have any new details to add. >> pete, thank you very. the final chapter in a sad tragedy. that's what the san francisco attorney general said today in the asiana crash. three people died when the plane clipped the edge of the runway, a crash largely blamed on the pilots. >> new developments tonight in a disturbing crime in the east bay. another little girl has come forward saying a dental assistant molested her, too, during a procedure. alejandro is accused of preying on children while working at concord dental office. detectives say he recorded the attacks. they are trying to sift through dozens of the recordings and photos. >> the videos are very clear of what happened. i've had to view most of them along with the primary detective. they're unpleasant. >> detectives say that he filmed himself touching more than 50 young patients inappropriately. so far four girls have come forward to police. >> 30 months in jail. that is the sentence a former season fran political consultant received today. ryan chamberlain led the fbi on a three-day manhunt back in 2014 after investigators found bomb-making chemicals and deadly toxins in his knob hill apartment. after he serves himself timing he'll be on probation for another 12 years. >> in san bruno, police say a man with severe autism was killed. police say the driver of a dark colored car like this fled the seen early monday morning. it was still very dark when police say scott was hit and killed. he wandered away from facility. the driver never stopped. >> and a controversy over the pepper spraying of this peaceful protest. they had contracted to scrub the video. thachs -- that was $175,000 of public money used. the chancellor has been asked to resign. >> findings as part of a study from the department of transportation found that 83% for flights for leading airlines nationwide did arrive on time. southwest had the best on time arrival, hawaiian and alaska airlines received good mark for promptness. jetblue and spirit airlines tended to be late. jeff ranieri has the microclimate forecast and what we can expect for thursday. >> the rainfall is beginning to pick up, peggy. you can see we're starting to see it fill in as the storm system is picking up moisture. in terms of where rainfall is falling right now, it's isolated to the north bay. you can see on the current scan and now showers approaching santa rosa as well. things will be able to pick up over the next three to four hours. the other thing we'll be watching, not only the chance of rain but those cooler temperatures down to 46 in the north bay, san francisco 52, a chilly 48 for the east bay and for the south bay we start off at 50. as we mentioned, the big question always is and we have rainfall coming in, will it hit the hardest portion of the commute? what you'll see with this storm system as it moves in is a lot of us will be sleeping.ly you'l with wet roads and a lot of you will be getting your lawns wet. also for contra costa and almeida county and moves towards fremont. we may have lingering showers by 6:30 in the morning. really when the majority of that commute gets going, we will be looking at drying conditions and increased sunshine. it's a quick blast overnight. i really wish these totals would be a lot higher. i know we did get that storm system that past weekend but we need to get all we can with the current drought in place. we'll be close to a quarter inch up into santa rosa but you can see how the numbers fall off once you go south of san francisco as that storm system is expected to lose some of its strength. .05 in livermore and .03 in san jose. for tomorrow you'll find the chance of rainfall in the morning and sun building in the afternoon. if you're going to the coast line tomorrow, be prepared for that chilly weather to stay with us. 57 for your high in san francisco. towards the financial district, a little bit warmer. for the peninsula, palo alto 63. up toward the south bay, a great day in san jose with 64 degrees. for the north bay, east bay and tri-valley, you have it easy tomorrow. whatever you dress for here in let's say napa, if you're heading to oakland, you've got pretty much the same weather and right here across the tri-valley, plenty of low to mid 60s. but get ready for major changes by this weekend, friday, saturday and sunday a drier, warmer wind moves in combining with hotter air. it will give us a lot 70s on friday. by saturday the south bay goes to 80 and on sunday 85 degrees. light jacket weather tomorrow and you got shorts weather by this weekend. we've kind of had it all lately but it's been nice. >> it has been nice. good variety. thanks so much, jeff. >> coming up next, a counterfeit cash scheme that stretched more than two dozen states. the south bay man at the center of it all and how investigators finally tracked it down. then we have jimmy. >> ice cube is my guest tonight, and we have battle of the instant songwriters. do not change the channel. it good!
