reporter: his client traveled to turkey last year to help refugees. but according to the indictment he was in cairo on a family trip in july 2014. his father reported his missing and told u.s. embassy officials he was afraid that adam was recruited and it was important to find him quickly to prevent him from doing harm to himself or others. adam's father was concerned his son may have been victim was in an suv with other people when someone opened fire at them. the suv struck another car, causing minor damage. the suspect took off and so did the victim, abandoning the suv on the side of the freeway. the man who was shot ran into the denny's and employees called police. he wasn't seriously hurt. the victim and the shooter did know each other and the public is not in any danger. not a district tonight in san jose after the superintendent cancelled a decade old tradition of writing letters to sandra and delivering them on a school field trip to a coffee shop. >> you are setting up a participating in the walkout tomorrow and going to see santa at 10:00 a.m. the arena controversy is headed to court. opponents of the warriors mission bay arena filed a lawsuit today saying that the chancellor overstepped his authority giving away property rights that belong to all californians. the warriors arena is set to be a block from the ucsf medical center. the project has faced issues from the start saying that it would create dangerous traffic for people trying to get to the hospital during an emergency. the tragic and sudden death of a kidney donor at ucsf could mean longer waits for patients waiting for a kidney. the hospital has suspended all living donor surgeries for now. it left a san francisco teacher and her student in limbo when her plans to donate her kidney were cancelled. now they are scrambling for a workaround for the situation. >> reporter: they are. kelvin sanders planned to be here for life-saving kidney transplant tomorrow. the hospital cancelled the football uniform. >> reporter: a year after graduation he was diagnosed with a deadly illness. >> i have end-stage renal disease. >> reporter: the 20-year-old is on daily dialysis. his family created a kidney for kelvin facebook page. buhl signed up for testing. >> i couldn't believe someone i knew to be so healthy and so young could need a kidney. >> reporter: as beull passed tests, the surgery was scheduled. but the donor got sick. but beull was a match too. >> i could do it for anybody but how great i can do it for someone i have a connection with. >> reporter: as the pair prepared for surgery, ucsf delivered another twist suspending the living kidney donor program because a donor died in november and the case is under investigation. >> another pill to swallow but god has a plan, so. leave it up to him. >> reporter: the plan is to move forward. the donor surgery can happen at another hospital. >> it doesn't scare me. it really doesn't. if it's meant to be, it's meant to be. courthouse. prosecutors charged gary with ten felony counts of false impersonation for wracking up medical bills and criminal arrest using ronnie's identity. >> relief but sadness as well. >> reporter: for five years, gary has been using his name, social security number and insurance for medical treatment. >> every time i would pull up my cred history there are more and more things on there. >> reporter: there was a laundry list of hospital bills from florida to tennessee, colorado and washington. >> unpaid bills that are in the thousands of dollars. >> reporter: the investigative unit tracked down gary in washington state. he was under arrest in 2014 for being drunk in public. gary gave the renton police department are on's name and vital information. >> reporter: our report spurred an interstate search for gary. >> it's a very, very serious crime. >> reporter: it took eight months to bring gary to santa clara county. >> a lot of credit to roni and your news agency as candy store for me. >> reporter: medical experts say it's a serious crime that can have life or death consequences. if a thief's medical information is mixed up with yours. >> you can be misdiagnosed or mistreated. >> reporter: ann patterson leads the medical i.d. fraud alliance. medical identity threat rose 21% and you can't just get a new account. >> your medical identity includes your date of birth, social security number, health plan, those are things you cannot shut down. >> we used to tell people it is a mart idea to check your credit report every year. now it's a good idea to look at your medical records as well. >> reporter: gary faces up to nine years in prison if convicted. >> never let anyone tell you there is nothing you can do about this. i am positive proof that you can take on these people and find a way to fight and get through it. >> reporter: gary declined our interview requests. the medical i.d. fraud study found one in four people have their medical idea stolen morning the best chance of scattered rainfall to start in your commute is the north bay and san francisco. and also in the south bay as well. the good news, it does not look like the morning commute will be the worst. you will get to your destination on time. but for the heaviest rain, pay close attention to the futurecast. that begins to arrive by 10:30 in the morning. santa rosa, napa, it will hang in the north bay through 1:00 in the afternoon. that's why we might have isolated flooding concerns coming up on some of the roadways through tomorrow afternoon right up into the north bay. maybe a spotty shower towards san francisco. most of the bay area not getting in on the heavier rainfall until 4:00, 5:00, 6:00 at night, possibly embedded thunderstorms and maybe small hail with how cold this air is aloft. in the evening hours, still a possibility of lingering showers through 11:00 p.m. maybe spotty activity through 6:00 a.m. on saturday. but through most of saturday we are dry and we'll also see that most of sunday. we'll see that second system arrive by sunday evening a quarter inch from this one as well. looking at the rainfall total from friday and sunday's storm. a half inch in terms of the totals for the south bay, looks like that for pleasanton as well. on your micro climate forecast for friday the heaviest rainfall is in the marina, 56 for the high. for the peninsula, rainfall and temps in the upper 50s. in the south bay you may have sun breaks throughout parts of the day. and for the north bay east bay and tri-valley, heaviest rainfall potential is in napa and santa rosa. jacket weather all around with the temperatures in the upper 50s. a chance of snow on friday, saturday, and sunday. in squaw valley or alpine meadows 74 runs open at squaw valley and 68 at alpine meadows and a seven-day snow total from friday through christmas eve could hit not 10 inches but maybe 24 inches for those higher elevations. so as we leave tonight we had that rain
