mateo. they were able to track the car to san carlos. live at the crime scene and kristi, this is not the first time they had been called to the house. >> they have a number of responses to that address for domestic violence related issues. this time the woman inside was able to call for help, but didn't survive. >> police believe he stabbed his girlfriend to death in san mateo. neighbors are stunned. >> what happened to that baby and then the guy doesn't have no concerns. he doesn't have a heart. >> here called for help around noon and crews tried and couldn't save her. the suspect fled and got into a hit-and-run. his car located in a medical facility. it was closed, but not urgent care. >> he has been evacuated from the building. >> the swat teams and sheriffs deputies assisted and they contacted police while they checked riders. they haven't found him yet. >> they are actively looking for the suspect this this case. this does appear to be a domestic violence related homicide. >> they gathered evidence and saw police revealed they have been here before. >> i can tell you that we are working on a homicide investigation and a number of times for domestic violence related cases. >> they are struggling to understand. >> to be apart from this one, but i see what happened. >> this appears to be a tragic example of how domestic violence can escalate and an unfortunate only the well-prepared can brave the experience. joining us in milpitas with how they are responding to the plummeting temperatures. >> reporter: you can see my breath when i talk. if the chill in told us they had to see it. the water is now back on. this is after a pipe broke and sent thousands of gallons of water. a 16 inch pipe that ruptured sold about 70 years ago. freezing temperatures and police are being looking for the driver that slammed into a fire hydrant about 9:00 tonight near victoria drive. police found alcohol containers near the abandoned vehicle. plain was close and no story we brought you at 5:00 and 6:00. officials say the stranded dolphin calf we told you about has been euthanized. the dolphin was found in the waters off the preserve in monterey county. rescuers were able to capture the calf, however veterinarians say the dolphin's condition was deteriorating and no luck finding the mother. they looked for it. after careful consideration, they said the young dolphin couldn't survive on its own and the humane option was to euthanize. >> big business racking up huge sales. the focus was on small businesses like those in down down palo alto. they showed support for small business saturday where people go out of their way to find the mom and pop stores. are president obama showed support for small business saturday today and stopped at a d.c. closer to the water to keep temperatures up and napa down to 36 and speaking of the wind, if you are getting a night where you can factor in the wind chill, the hills of the north bay. when the air temperature is 30 degrees, the feels like temperature on your skin is 23. very uncomfortable. it's a factor of wind and when they drop into the 30s, it's uncomfortable. 20s and 30s across the valleys.
