One of the jail guards arrested for killing an inmate says he never touched the man. Rafael rodriguez claims he he is innocent during an interview with the mercury news. He is one of three guard arrested tuesday and accused murdering an inmate. Rodriguez admitted to being inside tyrees cell the day of his death but no one forced him to take pills and no one laid a hand on him. Tyree was found dead about an hour after the three guards went into his cell. An autopsy showed he had been beaten. Sheriff lori smith called the crime heinous during press conference. Interviews and evidence led to the arrest of the three guards. Near san mateo this afternoon, a driver died after crashing in a guard rail. It happened on southbound 280 in the San Francisco state fish and game refuge west of san mateo. Police say a 31yearold woman driving this truck lost control, hit the guard rail and died at the scene. A passenger was taken to the hospital.
