Normally, thunderstorms when they go through the bay area they dont last long or move po30 to 40 Miles Per Hour. This one was a walking pace. And you can see these areas in purple and blue. Thats the hail detected under microclimate radar here that picks up the areas with hail to accumulate, especially a cell moving as slowly as that one did. 1 to 3 inches deep in some areas. Notice we still see some intense showers, more intense lightning here off to the southwest of the low south hills heading off to the coast. You can see the thunderstorms there. A few more here in the east bay hills. Reporter this is after the crash whats left. It hit a light pole here at tilsdale. All three people were ejected from the car. Police say one teenage boy died. Two teens, one boy and a girl were taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. Police say the driver of the car that hit the pole got out and jumped into the car he appeared to be racing. Neighbors say they heard the horrific sound of the crash. I heard, i think it was two womens voices just screaming, wailing to where we werent even sure if it was an animal or a persons voice. Right. And i said i think thats someone in distress. Reporter officers on scene tell us they suspect this may have been a race between gang members. Police say both alcohol and high speed were factors in this crash. So far they have not been able to find that second vehicle. A 20 day old bay found dead near the Sacramento River found in connection with with the babys death. The District Attorney said the exact charges against 23yearold smantamantha greene not yet determined. She reported her son, justice reese, died from hypothermia or drowned. Preliminary report said there were no signs of trauma. Greene is the suspect. A firefighter hurt at a spaulding apartment complex in the south bay. It happened in the willow glen neighborhood. Fire broke out at one of the units near a home depot. Fire crews say flames spread from the kitchen. If my wife and i looked over to this unit and smoke and fire was coming out of the roof. A firefighter was hospitalized after getting hurt while carrying a hose during that fire fight. The two people inside the apartment and their dog all made it out safely. This was a close call for the workers who were working on the metal guard nearby and fortunately not inside the truck when this happened. The mosquitos were first detected yesterday according to the mercury news and capable of spreading tropical diseases and at risk of a health epidemic.
