south. we had i-70 over an hour delay coming back from the high country. right now, all is wide open. really easy driving conditions. no accident to worry about. take a look at the map. as you can the drive downtown. we had also a big cleanup. all roads now opening, which is remain closed is, and i'll tell you why coming up. laboo day unfortunately ended in tragedy. a man killed in this accident. this is on i-76. he was drivvng with his family last night when the accident happened. police say the car rolled into the median, throwing him from that vehicle. a woman was inside. she was flown to the hospital. we are also told that some children were inside that van. they do appear to be okay, but were taken to the hospital just to be sure. now, to this deadly accident. this is on franktown. a 66-year-old motorcyclist was killed after getting into an accident involving three cars. troopers are now looking into what caused that crash. it's 5:02 now. no secret that street racing can be deadly. neighbors in south denver are just tired of it, saying drag racers always tear through the area, and they want it stopped. jason is live from south federal with more on the problem. >> yes. good morning to you, mitch. it's one thing to leave behind marks on this parking lot. this is a clothing store here right near federal and south arkansas. burnouts and the smell of burnt rubber and a little bit of loud noises when the cars gather here, but they don't just stay here. into their own neighborhoods. some call it cruising, but neighbors just call it downright street racing. now, they are dealing with property damage and worried that things could get even worse. we spoke to one neighbor. her name is eileen darton. she lives about a block and a half away from where i'm standing here where some of those cars go cruising or racing right in front of her street. she says that just on s out a chain-link fence and kept ongoing and driving. she says there are children that play in the neighborhood and that this could get potentially deadly and much, much worse. they say that they call police each and every timm this happens, but they don't get the response they wanted. we reached out to denver police. they say they are aware of this problem. kind of hard not to be when 150 cars gather and burn out their tires all at once over the weekend, and that they are trying, police are, to crack problem obviously comes when cars are racing away from you and when they scatter when the cops get there. they didn't give us any specifics, the police didn't, but just that they are doing tteir best at this point. neighbors just really fed up at this point, say they are going to continue to call the cops, and just hope that scenes like this don't end up on their front lawns and even worse. reporting live, i'm jason, denver 7. we have breaking news in the race for president right now. just in this morning, a new orc poll with just nine weeks to election day has donald trump leading hilary clinton 45 to 43%, 2 -point lead there. this is the latest from cnn this morning. libertarian candidate gary johnson at 77, and green party jill stein 2%. now, the washington post is also just out minutes ago with a new first-ever -- first of ts kind state-by-state breakdown of the presidential race here. so they are looking at polls all across states. has the lead. we are going to be looking at this poll closely to see what colorado and how voters here in colorado are responding and we'll have more on this throughout the morning, as well. 5:05 now. denver police are investigating after an officer shot at a suspect. fortunately, no one was hurt here. it happened at noon yesterday right near west 3rd avenue and osage street, which is an industrial area next to i-25. it all began when a man waved a gun at a tow truck driver. when officers got there, they ended up shooting at that man. he's now in custody. police have not released his name. the douglas county deputy is recovering this morning, this man here, afterrgetting shot while trying to stop a suicidal man with a gun. this happened last week. the family of the man who detective bryan just released a statement. deputies killed randy rodick after he shot detective wright. his family says they are sorry it happened. they also say they love and will miss randy and asked for ramsey? it's been almost 20 years since the young boulder beauty queen was murdered in her own home in boulder. noww a new documentary is trying to shed new light on that cold case. what jonbenet's father just revealed. >> expected to continue to grow. this is the one that fire officials believe they really won't have contained until probably mid october. today, a boulder judge will begin deciding on whether or not the city should be all tax sugary drinks. right now, the tax is set to go on boulder's november ballot. this is something that drink makers don't want to see happen so they're appealing the decision to allow it on the bool -- ballot. lawyers say the group that got the issue on the ballot didn't word the petition correctly and, thereforr, it's invalid. if the judge sides with the city, voters would looking at the state-by-state numbers here. interesting, it shows a tight race between donald trump and hilary clinton in ohio, north carolina, arizona, and texas, and as for colorado, this is interesting. hilary clinton, of remember -- remember polled her advertising here in our state because she has such a strong lead. this poll has clinton with 46% to donald trump's 44%. that's with the two-way race. it's dead even in a four-way race when you consider the other two candidatts, as well. people in oklahoma aren't cleaning up this morning after a large 5 .6 magnitude earthquake hit over the week end. we are now learning that the quake might not have been natural. some scientists think fracking triggered it oil drilling and has been linke to increased earthquakes in oklahoma before. so all fracking wells within 725 miles of the quake's epicenter must now be shut down within the next nine days. ? fresh from our wound ? back from the edge of time ? >> some of hollywood's biggest your first alert patchy fog will be possible across much of the metro area and the eastern plains. we do still have fire danger rrally across the western slope, portions of the mountains, into the mountain valleys, so just be aware. low humidity, gusty winds, warm and ddy that is critical fire weather so just please be careful out there. highs for today elsewhere, 87 degrees in fwrand junction. gunnison and same in fort collins. take a look at our front range numbers. 82 degrees in denver. much cooler across the northeastern plains. only 71 today in sterling. we do have the risk for seeing stronger storms, really a little bit later on this afternoon into the evening. all the area you see here encompassed in green, do still have that chance for seeing gusty winds, pockets of hail. ouu future cast showing what we can expect throughout the day for much of the front range. we'll start the morning mostly cloudy, gradually clearing skies. still ave the chance for a few sprinkles and cloudy conditions on the foothills, and then as we head into the afternoon hours, some gradual clearing. so we will see some sunshine, but increasing cloud coverage by this evening, and a better chance forrseeing those storms really right around 6:00, 7:00, and then moving on to the plai can see here, with the red and yellow moving onto akron by this evening, and overnight tonight, mostlyycloudy conditions. our highs, though, across the be a lot cooler, almost tenwwll degrees cooler than what we saw yesterday. expect highs in the lower 80s. tonight in denver, we have the chance compromising the foundations of that building. >> so crews have removed 15 of the prairie dogs so far. foothills parks and rec plans to poison the rest, but a local task force says poisoning the
