to be released by the end of the month. colorado republican committee chairman steve house is sounding off ahead of hilary clinton and bernie sanders visits. he slammed both candidates saying the fbi investigation into clinton's e-mail scandal is in poor standing with coloraao -`voters. he also called sanders an avowed socialist who spent his honey republican presidential candidates are focussed happened as it went through the intersection there. this was at handon avenue and dayton street. the woman driving survived, and no firefighters were hurt. denver police are now investigating the crash. a news alert now about two men pretending to be police `fficers in denver. denver police say the fake cops pulled a victim over last night along north sheridan boulevard. they handcuffed him, slammed his head into the windshield and robbed him. the suspects are driving a car with blue and red flashing lights. they both had badges, guns, and handcuffs. if you knoo anything, call police. silverton is closed in both directions because of an avalanche. it's been closed for several hours now. no word on whether anybody was hurt. cdot tweeted there's noest mat as est -- no est mat as to when it will reopen. some spectacular weather for us today. afternoon highs in the mid 60s for uu this afternoon around denver. some higher winds, though. theyyve been gusting up across the front range and into the mountains. our temperature now 59 degrees. current conditions, as you see outside, beautiful clear skies with just a few high clouds. now, the high winds along i-25 corridor range between 20 and 35 miles an hour. little more gusty up into wyoming around 40 to 60 miles an hour. current terms are mostly in the 50s here around the denver area. statewide, we have 30s and 40s for the mountains, and out west, 40 ddgrees for grand junction. so as we go into tonight, we'll have overnight lows in the low 30s with some gusty winds at times, partly cloudy skies. as we warm things up girls from aurora. all were recruited by isis and now, denver 7 invessigates the explosive growth of isis recruiting on the internet. investigative reporter tony shows us it's a problem across the analyze a social media discussion investigates. it appears to show communication between an isis recruiter and a teenage girl. >> how old do you want to get married at? as soon as possiile. god willing. >> in a way, they're selling marriage. >> yeah. i ean, in this particular example, absolutely. further down in this conversation is -- he startt to compliment her and says, you knoww you're beautiful, i would do anything to marry a girl like you. >> experts say in many cases, isis recruiters lure females with marriage and males with the opportunity to join the jihad. >> fair to say that's a red flag? >> absolutely a red flag. >> other common recruiting themes include appealing to emotions, creating a sense of belonging, identifying personal conflicts with family, friends, school, or society, and creating a sense of purpose. >> it's very akin to what pedophiles do when they're groooing kids online. it's not something that's goinn we are facing eally big challenges with the fact that terrorist organizations and other bad actors are using these free platforms to spread their message. an enormous amount of resource to this. >> colorado's u.s. attorney john walsh says attemmts to block isis recruiting are complicated, complicated by the fact that communications that start on twitter the chat rooms with servvrs based overseas or -- >> that's a problem. if that continues to develop, we have to find ways to address it. >> colorado jury convicted shannon conleyy she's now serving a four-year sentence in an alabama federal prison. the three aurora teenagers, all questioned but not chashlged -- charged. and one final note, if you are looking for a potential red flag, one of the aurora teens was a big music fan. her family noticed she suddenly stopped believe it or not, we are going to expect snow up in the higher elevations as we go through this weekend while things will be heating up here across the front range and the eastern plains. at this point, we have gusty windses. they'll be sticking around for our area chl more sunshine into the metro, but we will have the snow showing up for the higher elevations. we already have a winter weather advisory that has been issued. now, today, 63 was our afternoon high. normally we should be around 46 degrees.% our low last night, 27, and our normal overnight low 18 degrees. at this point, we're at 59 degrees. our winds at about 16 miles an hour, and we are going to experience some warmer weather into the next few days. nice warmup on the way as we go ttrough the rest of our weee, buttlook at some of these wind gusts. they are much higher as we get closer to wyoming, but fort collins, 28 mile an hour gust, 32 at colorado springs. we've seen most of the higher wind gusts here. those have been between 20 and 30 miles an hour for today. our 24-hour planner, though, taking our temperatures, dipping them down into the 30s tonight in the overnight hours, anddthen we'll have lots of sunshine tomorrow, but highs will only be in the mid 50s. there's a system rollinn through. it's actually going to be moving down across colorado as we go in through the next 24 hours, so here's the colder air coming down into the state. a little low-pressure area, as well. we'll kind of mix things up, bring that snowfall to the higher elevatiins, and then across the plains, we'll continue to have the gusty winds. so for our future cast, you see that snow showing up here for the northern and central mountains into sunday afternoon and eeening and even into monday. so we have a winter weather advisory in effect for this area. we could see a few light showers sunday night across the northeastern part of colorado, but for now, we have a winter weather advisory for sunday morning through monday evening for the purple -shaded areas here includes steam boat, eagle, aspen for about 3 to 8 inches of snowfall. as you see here, will puul in that moisture in through sunday monday. so keep that in mind, especially if you are traveling. the high winds with the blowing snow could make for low visibilities at times. so our lows tonight in the teens degrees. 25 for grand junction. we'll have 30s along the i-25 corridor and across the eastern plains temperatures mostly in the 20s as well. here right round denver, low 30s for you, right around freeziig and keeping an eye out for the foo just like we saw early this morning. very dense in many areas. highs tomorrow only in the mid 50s, but thennwe have a nice warming trend coming for the rest of next week. 31 degrees will be our overnight low tonight. partly cloudy skies, still a little windy at times, and those winds stick around tomorrow, as well, with a high of about 565 -- 55. so you'll feel the difference tomorrow during the day, but then this is the difference i like to feel. once we get up into the 60s here by tuesday, and even some 70s are possible by the high potentially around 69 to 74 degrees. so some colorado, the cdc is researching it in fort collins. toured the fort collins cdc diseeses like zika virus. that mosquito did not have ziia, but they can infect it with zika to research the virus, which they've been doiig since 2007. we found out why we should be overly worriee about getting zika from a colorado mosquito bite. >> we have a number of features here that would keep them from sur vooefing. we are extremely dry. these are mosquitossused to living in the tropics. for a number of reasons, we of infestation by -- by these mosquitos. who might have zika are sending samples to the fort collins cdc for testing. well, here is something you probably never thought of. do you have explosives buried in for some folks in lakewood, the alarming answer is yes. they're unexploded left over from an old artilleey range buried near haden park. the national guard has been looking in the park since last summer and found military ammunitions and unexploded shells, but now they think the probllm may go into the nearby neighborhoods. investigators have notified more than a hundred homeowners of the potential danger and requested to search their yards. >> well, we don't know exactly what they are going to find. they have to broaden the search. we want people to be safe, and this is a better safe than sorry situation. >> now, during these searchs for safety, the homeowners and their the area. there will be two open ouses for public on wednesday. this is the time of year when theeslopes are packed and ski resorts are raking it in, but the priorities at one mountain are a justice antonin scalia has died. the u.s. marshals service just confirmed this. he died in his sleep during a visit to texas. in a statement, texas governor greg abbot praised justice scalia for his loyalty to the constitution, and, now, we are getting reaction from colorado leaders. assistant minority leader pawwy lawrence said his death is a great loss. >> he was very thorough in his `uestions. he was very straightforward. from what i understand, he asked very direct questions, and when actually checked every footnote to make sure that it was referring to the correct statute that his opinions were as accurate as possiblee i think we will miss that very thorough, brilliant, legal mind. >> justice scalia was 79. we'll have much more local reaction coming up oo denver 7 news att10:00. right now, the democratic colorado looking to win support from voters. a rally event s just getting underway at the convention sanders. that's where we find denver 7's eric looper. a lot of interesting to see what rally. and on the other side of the political aisle, republican candidates are getting ready to debate again tonight in south carolina. this is the first showdown in the south stronger here up into the hills wherr we've had 40 to 60 mile an hour gusts. our emperaturrs into the 60s this afternoon. absolutely gorgeous weather, but things are about to change, especially in the higher elevationnngses. we actually have chances for snow heading our way, not here in the metro area, but we'll talk more about the complete forecast coming up in just a few minutes. the winter weather is turning deadly to our country's northeast. pennsylvania. involved in this crash. slick roads may have been behind it, critically injured people were flown to about six different hospitals. this is about 75 miles northwest of pennsylvania. it's a frigid day in our nntion's northeast, and here is annidea of just how cold it is. a water line broke sending water gushing into the stteets friday in philadelphia, and it didn't take long for all of it to freeze, encasing cars there in ice. with temperatures only getting into the 20s today, it's going to be difficult to thaw them -`out. i like it like this versus when it's snowing and i'm not the woman of the hour. >> and everybody is like what are you doing? >> we have beautiful weather on the way but also snow for the higher elevations. thanks for ginning ning -- joining us here on denver 7. beautiful weather out right now. gorgeous colors out in the distance as we look from our rooftop out toward the mountains. looks like it's going to be nice and warm for our area as we go through the next 48 hours. we do have some changes, though, that are going to be taking place up in the higher elevations, especially our northern and central mountains. gusty winds are going to stick frnd for the next couple of days. as we're warming things up, snow is going to be falling in the high country. so i'll kind of break it down for you, show you exactly what's happening, but today, 63 degrees for that afternoon high. normally we should be around 46 degrees, and our low last night, well above normal. 27 degrees. 18 is normal. and 14 below is a record so at this point, we have a temperature of 59 degrees, just some high cloudiness out there, and our winds about 16 miles an hour. new, these have been gusting around 20 to 30 miles an hour for today, and if you were up early, you saw the dense fog throughout the metro area. now, the winds have really been picking up in the areas that are kind of ree and purple, that's 50 to 60 mile an hour winds, so definitely higher gusts up into the hills. here for the metro area and the i-25 corridor, winds around 30 now, for the next 24 hours, we're going to keep those temperatures in the 40s and 50s until we get to the overnight. we'll drop into the 30s, and then mid 50ses tomorrow, o not quite as warm tomorrow. we have a little system swinging thrrugh colorado, and it's actuully going to be bringing that moisture down into the western part of our state. this low heee actually interacting with some moisture up in the mountains, bbt here across the front range, we'll remain dry. we could see a few scattered snow showers here for the eastern plains, but by tomorrow showing up here for our northern and central mmuntains. here is that little bit of rain and snow that could pass by tomorrow evening and then still snowing by monday morning. we have a winter weather advisory in effect for tomorrow morning into monday night here for our northern is central mountains, about 3 to 8 inches of snow. those winds will bb very gusty. low visibility could be an issue. as we have ttis snow coming down here for northern and central mountains, our temperatures will be in the teens and 20s, but we will have down sloping winds coming out of those mountains. they'll be compressing, heating us up. tomorrow we'll have highs in the 50s, but we get up into the 60s -`and 70s here on our 7-day forecast, so gussy winds into the next couple of days. we'll hit 62 on tuesday. 69 to about 74 on thursday. so some nice, warm weather `eaded our way. we'll have mid 60s into next weekend with sun nir sky -- just about everyone has made a comment about how beautiful the weather is and how much people are smiling more now. >> yeah. >> i'm a fan of it. i smile all the time anyways. %- >> yeah, you do. >> it's really nothing new. >> that's true. i hope you guys are hoops fans because this is the first since august of last year. can you believe it?
